My husband and I have been shopping at Nature's Emporium in Newmarket for almost 10 years. We really couldn't say enough about what an incredible place Nature's is. It's the place to shop for everything organic. And every department has amazing people working to help you find and buy what you're looking for - there's the amazing John and his team in the produce department who make sure all the gorgeous organic vegetables and fruits are at their very best; there's fabulous Anna, Jan, Jordan, Dayle, Mark, Yulia, and Michael at the deli counter, all professional, friendly, and ready to help you take home some of the many fresh deli meats and vegan options, and delights and treats of all kinds. You can even get a hot and fresh spelt or gluten-free pizza made by the incredible Barbara or Ricky. And in the kitchen, wonderful Peter and Scott and a crew of amazing chefs and cooks create incredible dishes and soups to enjoy in-store or to take home. In the grocery section, the fantastic Jeremy and Elaine and a team of other hardworking colleagues keep stock on the shelves and keep everything organized and accessible--Nature's even has a large and varied selection of organic nuts and dried fruits. And over in the incredible supplement section, the very knowledgeable Bev, Linda, and Olivia, to name a few, are our constant go-tos for information on vitamins, minerals, amino acids, and for the wide range of other products available. And Karen and her team do a fabulous job of looking after all the health and beauty products in the store. And when you've filled up your cart and are ready to check-out, you have a team, including the incredibly efficient Pinar, Swapma, and Jacob, to ring all your groceries up and check you out. We like to end our shopping experience with a lovely coffee or smoothie at the juice bar. Nature's Emporium is an experience--an amazing experience, and one that we highly recommend. This is a good health food store, and I can usually find what I need. They have a nice variety of fresh fruits and vegetables, and the selection of healthy products is quite good. However, I find the prices to be very high, which makes it difficult to shop here regularly. Overall, it's a good store, but I wish the prices were more reasonable. read more

I love this grocery store. We've been coming here for years. They have all the organic produce and meat you could find. It is a bit pricey, however it's the only place that you can get pretty much anything organic. Their produce is always fresh, always organic. I usually would go in to grab their fruits, veggies, sometimes meat. They have sales every week on the weekly flyer. Those are really good deals! Definitely stop by if you're looking for organic items :) you won't disappointed with that quality, maybe the price(bit pricey), although quality over quantity ;) read more

I am so disappointed in my visit to nature's emporium. I am all about the health, clean, holistic way of living but this was just a worst whole foods for me. Maybe it's interesting to Newmarket citizens but from someone who moved here from the city, this was very mediocre to me. Don't get me wrong- it's not BAD as a store. They have a lot of samples out for shoppers and lots of different types of cheese! They have a sheep cheese with truffle, which was absolutely delightful. A lot of their merchandise and stock are carried by whole foods, farm boy and other smaller shops as well. The thing is- it's not cheaper here; if anything, I think it's even pricier. I just didn't get great, clean vibes here. I made my purchase, drove home and ended up being disappointed out of 2/3 of my purchases. My califa farms creamer had its seal broken, and my lee ghee was expired. On top of everything, I opted for no receipt so it would've been way too much trouble to drive all the way back and try to argue this. Sigh. I wrote them a note that afternoon seeing if I could amend this somehow and never got a response. What's the point of having a contact form for each store? Freaking New York fries answers customer complaints faster than this. Am not returning because of bad service and no follow up. I'll stick to whole foods, and when farm boy comes to Newmarket, I'm sure this place will lose even more customers. read more

We visited this location a few weeks ago and had a really positive experience. We called and asked an employee to put the items we wanted at the customer service desk since we didn't want to be in the store for a long time during corona virus. The employee got us all of our items. As we entered the store an employee greeted us and asked if we would like him to give us gloves or a disinfectant wipe for our hands and cart. We chose the gloves and our shopping experience was very pleasant. The store was fully stocked and it wasn't too busy. We purchase everything the other store didn't include in our online shopping delivery. I really enjoyed walking through the store to see which gluten and dairy free items they had. They had everything I needed and they even had all natural containers of wipes. read more

Great place. Some customers are rude and have that i am elite attitude which seems to make staff grumpy at times. Especially during covid19. Before covid the place was 5 star. Now dropped a star. Covid has changed people. The stress and the pain in the rear attitude many ppl have with Rich economic status The elite always think they are better and they deserve more. They like to treat others like servants or slaves. You can see that in the store with many pain in the butt customers. Typically the babybommer generation. The generation that broke the world. In conclusion the store is great. Staff is great until the arrogant rude selfish self entitled customers ruin their day. Then u have grumpy staff and rude customers. I have been visiting natures emporium for years and always look forward to seeing Iba, the very kind, helpful and friendly woman at the cash. I always look for her to go in her line :). She's always smiling, is fast and efficient, and always takes the time to ask how I'm doing. She listens with a genuine curiousity while she quickly, and accurately, scans all the items. Oh I almost forgot to mention that she very often has a suggestion for DELICIOUS snacks for me to add to my cart :). Today was my first visit to Nature's Emporium for their breakfast bar. Nature's emporium is a natural food store that also serves fresh food, coffee, teas, has fresh baked goods, soups, etc. Sort of a healthy grocery store with vitamins and fresh food, and more. I stopped in today to try out their breakfast buffet. It is my first time. I typically have my favourites that I go to. The food was very good. I came in at 830 am, so the buffet had just been put out. There were lots of choices, oatmeal, eggs, bacon, sausage, keilbosa, potatoes, fruit, etc. They also had a cook onsite running an omelette and crepe bar. The food was very fresh. I quite enjoyed my breakfast. The food is charged based on weight, and you can have as much or little as you want. Mine hit a hefty $18, but too be fair, I was at a sleep study and didn't really sleep well, so I needed a large breakfast to get me through the day. Fortunately, Nature's Emporium goes out of their way to cater to people with food issues. I must eat strictly gluten free, and I have to avoid most grains as well. There was an abundance of food, and the chef was an interesting fellow just looking to provide the best food experience that he could. They have the breakfast buffet on Friday, Saturdays, and Sundays. They have a card that allows you to get a free meal after every 10 meals ($15 value). A great meal and a very pleasant experience. PS don't expect fine china: paper plates and metal cutlery, and you can take it away with you as well. read more

This place has become my goto place for grocery shopping. This supermarket sell a lot of organic products and it has a wide variety of organic goods selection especially organic vegetables and meat. I used to go Longo's for grocery but with limited selection for organic goods, Nature's Emporium has becomes my default place to shop, especially vegetable, fruit and meat. Of course the price is abit higher than non organic goods but I think this place has the most variety and cheaper price to buy organic goods in my "neighbourhood", eg. When comparing to Frank's Organic Garden. However, when comparing to Ambrosia Natural Food, Natures Emporium has lesser selection for dry goods/boxed drinks, eg, less selection of organic non dairy drink such as Hemp milk/almond milk ... or nut/flour... I am not saying Nature's Emporium doesn't sell them but if you are picky about your selection about organic dry goods or non dairy drink product, you will have a bigger chance finding it in Ambrosia. For example, I cannot find coconut milk yogurt in Nature emporium but I can find Ambrosia... however, Ambrosia has lesser selection for organic vegetables and fruit. I wish there is also a Ambrosia around so I can easily go to two place for my needs ... one for veggie and one for dry goods :) All in all, Nature's Emporium is an awesome place to do grocery shopping with great friendly service and the place is large and clean! read more

Could it be that I am in love with a store? With loads of prepared foods and organic offerings at consumer -friendly prices this store has become one of my regular haunts. There's a beautiful selection of fruits and vegetables all certified organic, more cheeses than I knew existed, prepared foods for take-out, fresh meats and seafood, a bakery, and a well-organized supplement department staffed with experts including registered Naturopaths, Homeopaths, Nutritionists and Herbalists. I was in here for the first time a few month back and I was really impressed with the size of the store. This is consider and ECO store and in my mind most if not all ECO stores are small. Not this place. They have all the same departments that any other grocer would have but it is all organic or natural. The selection is great, I especially liked the little restaurant they have. Everything is made fresh using the very ingredients you will find on the shelves, can't go wrong with that. The health and beauty section is mixed with their wellness section, I found lots of great brands and products. Plus I picked up a guide to healthy eating, something I have been trying to do for a few years now. I will defiantly go back soon. read more

I love this grocery store. My family has been shopping here for at least 5 years now. We buy all the natural products that we need from here. Best pizza. Produce is almost always fresh, and the hot foods very good. Last week they made a one-off dish that we have never had from here before. It was the spicy Szechuan noodles. I spoke to the chef and told him that it was very good and that they should bring it back. He said it was comments like that that make them have the dish regularly and he thanked me. He said he might have it back this week. Today I called back to see if they have the dish. Instead I talked to someone in the kitchen who sounded annoyed that he had to talk on the phone and didn't seem to want to help. He said they won't make the dish and I have to talk to the chef. When I asked to speak to the chef, he said there's no chef here today. not after 3pm. I will talk to the chef tomorrow to see what he can do. I'd rather speak to someone who loves their job. We will keep coming back here as most of the staff here are good and friendly and we love the products. But I just wishI didn't have to go through an experience like today's. read more

I love Nature's Emporium. This store is fantastic in just so many ways. From it's great selection of products, to friendly and efficient staff this is my favourite Toronto supermarket. My absolute favourite part of this store is their cheese section. They have a wide range of cheeses from all over the world and it's a great collection. Lot's of raw milk and organic cheeses. Hands down the best organic food store I've ever been to. This is why: 1) You don't have to worry about carefully reading the product label - you can trust their selection. 2) They carry ranges of quality so you have product depth as well and have a choice in how much you want to spend. 3) They have excellent sales every now and then and it can turn you into a Hoarder! 4) They carry a wide range of products from prepared foods, groceries, cleaning supplies, baby supplies to vitamins. 5) Staff are so well trained its shocking. Seriously, go ask the meat deli for chia seeds and you'll still get an answer -and a recommendation too while they're at it. I love what they've done here and I can't wait to see a southern expansion. My only complaint is that they need a little bit of a bigger selection on their sushi grade fish and beef. I like a lot of things about Natures Emporeum and one thing that I DON'T like: It's too far away from my house LOL. The store moved into the space previously occupied by Weston Produce (remember them?) And upped the game. You have: - a lot of healthy food options, all under one roof - prices that are on the high side but more tamed than those at many other organic / natural food places I've been to - many products from local farms. - some products that (as far as I know) can only be found here Examples? I can think of a few: - Whole cocoa beans (the closest I could find is cocoa bits at Whole Foods) - Cocoa bits covered in dark chocolate (great alternative to candy and other sugary stuff) - Cool glass canisters for sprouting ... and I'm sure there are more things that I can't remember now or don't know about. When I win the lottery and can treat money as water, I will give them five stars. Yes, it is very impressive as other reviewers have mentioned. Lots of variety and some quite unique food, not only organic but also gourmet. My general qualm about the organic and local food movement is that if -- as I suppose some foodies wish, all food sold was in this manner -- all poor and most middle class families would not be able to afford it, at least not without sacrificing something else in their life. This store is the most expensive Health Food store I have found. Especially there bulk items. Things such as nuts, lentils etc. As if this wasn't bad enough I learned they "choose" not to participate in the Scanning code of practice that most other grocery stores do participate in. I bought apples and I was not charged the sale price displayed. I didn't notice until I got home. Every other grocery store you get the item free up to $10.00 and this keeps them honest. Natures Emporium chooses not to participate in this practice which I just think is immoral considering how much they charge for things. I am used to shopping in Toronto and one of the most expensive health food stores there is cheaper than this one. I recently moved to this area and so I shopped there despite their high prices but this was the last straw. From now on I will not shop there. read more

Not just pretentious and expensive, but sells lots of cheese labelled "organic" that definitely does not have organic certification. Shelves are littered with sale stickers that are merely discounts over ridiculously inflated prices, still more expensive than regular prices in the area. Plus: all produce us sold as organic. Great store. The people in the supplement/medicine section are extremely helpful and take time to explain your different options for whatever you are looking for. Although the products can be quite expensive, it's worth the money...at least for most things. If you cant keep your POS accurate then it means your dishonest. Never, ever had this concern with their competitors When you feel that you are taken for granted and have check out anxiety then it is time to move on to other retailers They do not price match. The produce department is outstanding...it's all organic and the prices are very comparable to non-organic at other grocery stores. Amazing freshness and quality. Selection in the grocery aisles is incredible, and the vitamin department is mind-boggling. They have absolutely everything! The only problem...the staff. Not the check-out staff, they are all super friendly and nice. I'm talking about the staff in the store...not very helpful or interested in helping customers find things/answer simple questions. I was starving at lunch time today, and turned to Yelp to help me find a Vegan option in Newmarket. This led me to Natures Emporium. I was very pleased with the selection on their salad bar and their vegetarian/vegan hot bar. As with all of these cafeteria style eateries, you do have to be really mindful of what you put in your plate, because it can add up quickly. I regularly go to Whole Paycheque downtown Toronto, so I'm very accustomed to this and I know how to load my plate. I'm always mindful of things that are "heavy" like lasagna or Mac and cheese. If something is really dense, it will obviously cost more to fill your plate! To cut costs, opt for salads, loosely pack your plate, and just buy what you will actually eat. When possible, sometimes I will use a soup container instead of a large bowl or plate to help me keep the quantity in check. I opted for some gluten-free brown rice pasta, topped with veggies and a bit of tomato sauce. It was tasty, just like real, home cooked food. Not loaded with sodium and all of the other crap. In all I got my pasta, a water, an apple and a date square for $16. I will definitely go back when I'm in the area. read more

Nature's Emporium in Newmarket is my favourite place to shop! I've been going there for years since they were a tiny little Heath food store. Before COVID their hot tables and salad bar was amazing And I would often go on my lunch break. I love the coffee and juice bar as well and the produce is always fresh. Yes, it is more expensive but if you go in with a list and stick to it and shop the sales it can be affordable. For example kale often goes on sale for $2 or $2.50 and there are times when I can buy raspberries 3 for $5! That's amazing for organic produce. I can get myself a plate of food from the hot table for about $15 and feel so good after eating it. It isn't really that much more than a McDonalds combo or any other fast food place...a combo at. A&W comes to like $16! aI would rather pay $15 to put something healthy in my body than pay $16 for junk food. I'm disappointed about the negative reviews from those upset about having to wear a mask. They have the option to order online if they don't want to mask. I where a mask and shield all day in my job. I have no choice. How long does it take to grocery shop? Just wear the mask for the short time it takes or order online. Giving the store a bad review based on having to wear a mask isn't fair. The review shouldn't be about COVID but more about the products, prices, cleanlines, etc. Oh and the staff of course. I'm always greated with a smile when I enter and asked how I'm doing. NATURES EMPORIUM FRESH DELICIOUS ORGANIC FOOD. MEALS PREPARED IN-STORE TO GO. I'm in town visiting a family member in the hospital here. I found this fantastic store by accident (in search of a specialty tea, which by the way they had!) I'm currently enjoying a fantastic California Cobb salad with a fresh lemon vinaigrette with a side of plump organic black figs and a bottle of cold pressed green juice. This is the best meal that I've had in two weeks! I also selected a shepherds pie and a fresh carrot juice for my dinner tonight. With only a micro in my hotel room, the clerk behind the counter was kind enough to provide me with a micro safe container to transfer my dinner to. Lots of stores are providing "prepared food" but Natures Emporium is providing a delicious, fresh and healthy alternative. My fav in Newmarket. read more

I've always been a fan of organic food and I've heard some great reviews regarding the large selection of food at Nature's Emporium. Earlier today, I visited Nature's Emporium to get a hot food take-out plate. Seeing as Nature's Emporium is quite foreign to me, I like to check and compare prices to every where else. I noticed that it said $2.99/kg and I instantly thought, "Score!" so I got a hot food plate. At check out, the cashier told me that my total rang up to $21.32 and I was shocked. I didn't get much food (rice with chicken), but I let it slide. When I tried the food at home, I realized that the chicken that I ordered was UNCOOKED. Overall, my experience was disappointing to say the least. I expected the food to taste great for the price that I had been charged, but it turns out that it wasn't that great overall. read more

Have been here many times and the experience has been overall good. But last time i got food from the hot table the quinoa was bitter. Then my kid for some reason wouldnt eat the pizza slice i bought him. Later i thought i would finish it and i realized that the pepperoni was very chewy and i wondered how he could eat any of it at all. I never went into this store until I needed some vitamins and supplements and now I see what all the fuss is about! They have exceptional customer service and the largest selection of supplements. I went in for something they didn't carry (which is very unusual) and they immediately offered to get it for me. My order came quickly, it came when they said it would, and they called me as soon as it was in. This is the kind of service I appreciate and that is why I don't go anywhere else. They have a wide variety of teas which I love - kinds you can't get in regular grocery stores. Their prices are slightly higher than other stores but everything is good quality.
