Not only did the staff all treat him so kindly, being a nervous dog with separation anxiety, but they provided advice and support for me with Barts teeth, without judgement, which I had experienced at another Vet from a larger Franchise. The pricing was transparent and clear from the outset, which eliminated any embarrassment that I had previously encountered at other vets. Bart is like a new dog since having his dental work. He healed beautifully and it has knocked years off him. He's back to being a cheeky and obnoxious boy, albeit on a more healthy diet to avoid more toothy issues. The full price for over thirty extractions including all necessary blood work and after care with medication came to a third less than one of the other well known vets and definitely did not break our bank. I am so relieved to have found a decent, honest vets practice for his senior years, safe in the knowledge that when the inevitable time comes for our dog to leave us, he will be in the best possible hands and treated with compassion. Not only did the vet ensure, that the dog was ok, but he took us into account too. He explained in detail what would be done (with pictures and everything) and how and how we can help her to recover afterwards. They kept us informed during her stay via telephone, so we didn't have to worry. Molly had no apprehensions to go back to see the vet and in my opinion that counts for a lot. I really felt, our dog and us were in safe hands. Thank you.

I have to write a negative review for this vet clinic as my experience was not a positive one and…read morerather weird to say the least. My cat had one slightly ingrown nail and I initially booked a visit to another vet clinic for claw clipping but they called the previous one, Thameswood, and the latter persuaded me to swap back to them which was clearly a mistake. Firstly, the price agreed in another clinic was £20 to clip my cat's claws, I explained the issue and the other place said they would do their best to help being ready to gently take out one slightly ingrown claw as long as it was not infected. Thameswood called straightaway and said they would do it for £35 if we come back due to knowing the history of my cat, not sure why I agreed to this, possibly due to the history situation, but they charged me in the end £50, a consultation price, not the agreed price, so they overcharged me without asking if I agree to this. Secondly, after a 5 minute job of clipping nails the the nurse came out to speak to me in a condescending and patronising tone trying to shame me for overlooking the issue, even saying my cat's paws will be amputated next time which was clearly an exaggeration and was not appreciated or was necessary as I came in to a vet clinic for a reason and expected a professional service which I could have done myself should my cat not bite or scratch during the process (she is also not a fan of claw clipping). Thirdly, my cat was infected with fleas after the visit as she started to lick and scratch straight after we visited the clinic, so this place is not disinfected for this issue and now I have another issue to deal with at home. Overall, a rather unprofessional and overpriced service and no customer satisfaction nor for the owner, nor for the cat as she has fleas now. I do hope that the manager will take notice of this feedback and take necessary measures to avoid such dissatisfaction and problems for the pets and owners going forward as it is not nice to be treated like that. I would demand a refund or sue if the issue was bigger..

We took our beloved Cockapoo Teddy as she was not feeling herself at all and has a history of…read moreeating anything and everything. She went downhill very quickly and had to visit an out of hours service as well due to it being the weekend. She was operated on there and then transferred back to the Purton Road surgery, where she was kept in for a further five days . I cannot express how amazing the staff have been looking after her. We really thought at one point that we would have no option but to put her to sleep. We felt thoroughly supported all the way through her recovery and they showed so much compassion, love and dedication. An amazingly caring team of people. A very special mention to Tanya. We can never thank you enough. You really were Teddy's guardian Angel. You have an amazing way not only with animals but also people. We'd also like to thank Nick for his knowledge and guidance. Another special mention goes to Jess and Dani and Lizzie (and anyone else we've forgotten to mention) who were the most amazing nurses, caring and looking after Teddy. This hospital handles the brunt of Bristol's animal care, and it shows with the staff cocooned by bullet-proof glass. They do an amazing job, handling people who are understandably upset and getting animals professional treatment. Procedures are free of charge once you have proved you are eligible (if you are on housing or council tax benefit you will get help), but they do request a contribution and rely on public donations. Appointments are necessary.

This is also the number to call out of hours for emergencies and they can book you in to your local centre if you call here. The staff are really nice and try and help out when it is apparent you need an immediate appointment. The vets here are fantastic and have a good bedside manner, or tableside manner I guess it would be, or kennelside? Anyway, parking is difficult round here and thankfully they have some spaces available across the road to park so you don't have to heave your sick animal too far. If you do have an appointment, remember that traffic on the Cheltenham and Gloucester Roads is appalling to dead still at most times of the day so you will need to factor that into your commuter time.

Its worth noting that all their hospitals have a 24 hour emergency cover so you can call in at any time as long as its urgent. They do a variety of services ranging from puppy training to pet bereavement advice. The location is pretty residential so you would need private transport to get here, especially if you were carrying a pet. They do have a carpark at the front, but a peak times this will be full.

I can only comment on their feline service, but they are gentle and understanding even when faced with a very unhappy animal (our cat does not like being handled by strangers. Full stop.) The costs were reasonable and they were able to supply antibiotics the same day, giving helpful tips on how to administer these to a reluctant cat. The practice has a warm, family feel to it and it's conveniently located for pets living in the St George/Easton/Fishponds areas.

I'm not by any means suggesting only go there when your pet is on their last legs. I've found that their routine health care is good and affordable and they don't force treatments or medication that is unnecessary.
