Let me start by saying that I've known some excellent doctors, and have had a couple of…read moreearth-shatteringly bad experiences as well. Dr. Julie Reardon has surpassed my wildest expectations of what a family physician CAN--and is willing--to do. I think that's in part because she is a phenomenal physician and person, and I suppose the Harvard education and work with Dr. Andrew Weil doesn't hurt. I'll add that all of the folks in her office are equally as competent and caring. If you are contemplating a visit to Dr. Reardon, it's because you haven't been feeling as well as you should--probably for quite some time. Your insurance-covered doctor has run some general tests that haven't shown anything all that extraordinary; and while you may greatly respect your PCP as I do, you realize that time and budget constraints limit the ability to which they can explore your issues. You may have been told that it's your impending menopause, or your weight, or that you perhaps should consider antidepressants. This is the state of medicine in our current era of managed care, and it's nobody's fault. Sometimes it just IS. Know that, if you can afford her services, "Dr. Julie" will leave no stone unturned in helping you find that road to recovery. She's not one of those "vanity doctors" who will hand you creams, diets, and vitamins to make you ageless and extra hot...although feeling better usually makes you look better! She's a serious, science-based physician with an uncanny ability to relate the typically unrelated, and see the "big picture" of your health situation. In our initial visit, she caught on to trending issues I'd never thought of before, including a potential genetic makeup that leaves me prone to certain problems with mood and energy level that are exacerbated by stress...and I've had a year of that! She ran a gamut of tests after explaining the purpose of each one, and uncovered a problem so critical it was a wonder I even had the energy to get out of bed in the morning. I am no less impressed with our follow-up discussions. She has referred to another provider for an area outside of her realm, and also recommended simple vitamin and supplement changes that will do me a world of good. At the same time, she's not that earth-crunchy guru that's going to mandate that that you live on purified air and chants...hers are moderate lifestyle changes for real people living in our everyday world. Dr. Julie doesn't take insurance, but that allows her to spend true quality time with the patients who sign on with her. I will say that, for the fees involved, I feel like it's been a very good choice for my healthcare dollars. I am finally getting some solid answers as to why I've felt HORRIBLE over just this last year, and I finally feel confident knowing someone's got my back while I take steps to get better. I think there are a lot of docs out there who dream of having a practice like Dr. Julie's--and she has made that dream a reality. When I think about how quickly Dr. Julie started "cracking the case", and all the co-pays and labs past that never quite addressed my issue, I realize that I have now SAVED time and money in the long run. What's more...I could have gotten REALLY sick were it not for Dr. Julie and her findings. She very well might have saved my future from being...well, not so bright. Thinking about calling for an appointment with Dr. Julie Reardon? I say go for it...you will NOT regret it, and you have everything to gain.

I lost hope and I would sleep more than 12 hours a day plus naps during the day. My depression got so bad that I would tell my husband and kids not to include me in their weekend plans anymore. And I live that way for many years (I'm only 34)....until I met McCall. My TSH levels were at a 19! No wonder why I was suicidal and tired 24/7. I tried to control my Bipolar symptoms for years without success. I tried medication and therapy but nothing seemed to help. I was stuck. Now, a year later on Armour medication, I look forward to the future. I make plans for the future. My kids look happy since I'm always around cooking their favorite foods and we even planted a vegetable garden that has some weird shaped cucumbers growing. And I'm happy my husband didn't divorce me lol, he stayed with me even in this crazy rollercoaster. I'm so thankful for McCall. She listened to me even at my lowest point. She offered help and hope and that is something that not every doctor gives you. She cared and I was able to trust her and her judgement. Life is still hard. Some days are not perfect but I just look back at my progress and I do Thank God for finding McCall. She's amazing!

I call her Double Mac, and as you can see from her picture, she clearly does not eat them b/c she's beautiful - outside AND inside. To explain how I feel about Double Mac I have to get personal, hopefully you'll be ok with this and not judgmental... Over a year ago I began struggling with my worst bout of depression I had ever experienced and I had no idea what to do or where to go. No psychiatrist's office was accepting my form of insurance and I could not afford $200+ and hour to see a psychiatrist. So, I had my name on waiting lists hoping one of them would start accepting my insurance in the mean time and call me back. Dr. Vache's office was one of those places, she had incredibly kind people who worked for her and saw that I had called several times in a span of 5 months. The front desk staff would call to check on me since they knew I was not receiving treatment. It was during one of these calls that they realized I was not aware that McCall worked for them (at the time, she is now on her own) and could see me at a reduced rate of what the Doctor could. I will not lie, I was hesitant. But, I had been on wait lists all around Austin trying to find a good and reputable place that took my insurance for too long. I was physically and emotionally worn out from white-knuckling through each and every day for the past 5 or more months. I thought McCall was a student in training or something, but of course I couldn't have been more wrong. McCall has excellent credentials, has years of experience, and truly listens to what you say you feel is happening and what you hope to accomplish. She did not give me any medicine until we ran some tests. She helped me find a place that would run the tests and accept my insurance - EEGs are pricey on their own. While we waited on test results, she encouraged me to try some major changes in my diet and she was 100% right - it was a huge help. Just changing my diet helped how I felt in major ways. She continually encourages me to stay away from some medicines and approves others. We do a lot of work with diet, exercise, vitamins/supplements, and then incredibly low doses of medicine. Note: Obviously if she felt I needed stronger doses or I felt I needed stronger doses of a medicine, she would work with me on that. HOWEVER, she knows my goals, she keeps my goals in mind, and she works with me on ways to achieve those goals. Now, while I still struggle with depression and anxiety (I have for over 10 years) for the first time in a very long time I feel like I have someone in my corner medically who understands what is going on with me not only physically, but mentally as well. I have started feeling so much better, she helped me find a therapist who I love and trust. Without her I have no idea where I would be, truly. She cares for me, as I am sure she does for all her patients, and I recommend without hesitation that you give her call.

They didn't have any at the store saying they no longer carried that lip balm and offered me an alternative but when I told them I was looking for that particular one since it reminded me of my departed parents, several staff asked me to wait and they went into their warehouse to see if they could find me any remainders. Although it does take time to get your thyroid balanced, Melody has stuck with me through different levels of healing and metabolic stresses. I've been hypo now for 35 years and started with Melody about three years ago. Most recently, Melody tried to get under why my hair was still falling out when my labs looked good except for ferritin stores. I have grappled with hair loss in years previous, but it would go away when my thyroid balanced and now it's not, so I was really stumped. Melody's remedy was to send me to an oncologist who does iron infusions. After two infusions, I was overtopped but eventually came down within normal range, which shows that I can hang onto iron now, meaning my ferritin anemia was not permanent. I have more energy now too, even with Covid everywhere. I prefer a doc who is less insulated from patients, one who allows email and telehealth meetings. Once you get set up where she is now, Melody is easy to access, quick to respond, and very much a real person after you get to know her. There's not a lot of ego here.

I have received multiple messages threatening to cancel my appointment if I didn't get my labs turned in before my appointment. I imagine part of the problem is I get my labs done elsewhere so they aren't getting side money from them. I finally called them out and said please refrain from threatening me - I am paying for my providers time and perhaps I may want to talk to my provider first before doing those labs. Got another message an hour later defending such threatening behavior and gloating over their wait list to which I didn't respond and just uploaded my labs though I did consider just cancelling the appointment but figured they'd charge me for it anyway so decided to use them one last time. A couple hours later - appointment cancelled. CLEARLY we have forgotten about treating the patient and not the numbers. Clearly we don't care about talking with a patient about their concerns - you can fully expect it is my way or the highway from this clinic. Or maybe they feel too incompetent to have the numbers last minute and need 2 days to plug them into the algorithm first so they have the answers going into the appointment? I can't think of any other reason they would need the numbers 2 days in advance. Most legit clinics won't even order labs til after the appointment - how else do you know what to order?!?! What if there is a specific symptom you need a specific lab for? Perhaps all the labs aren't really needed? Too bad - you're a number at Modern Thyroid and not a person. You're paying for the full panel whether you need it or not. Not sure but I will look forward to taking my business elsewhere to the MULTITUDE of other online HRT clinics that can be found simply by Googling 'Online HRT Clinic near me' and actually have a new appointment tomorrow with my new clinic.

My simple understanding is that a reiki practitioner works with our own energy channels to break up blocks caused by stress, illness, etc. and ultimately restore balance. The result is a sense of peace and overall well-being. I've been seeing Heather for two and a half years now. Her reiki sessions include some time before the healing to talk about what's going on in your life, why you're there, and any intention you have for the session. I often go in to deal with a specific concern or problem I'm facing. Heather always helps me find new ways of thinking about things, as well as ideas for approaching "problems" (which may or may not really be problems). She also helps me understand any cosmic forces at play and their energetic effects. My favorite times though are when I go in thinking I don't really have a specific issue to focus on, only to discover through talking with Heather that a deeper or more hidden issue/feeling is available to work with. Through Heather's questions and insights, I have been able to gain a deeper understanding of myself, both past and present, and my connection to others/the universe. I always leave feeling at peace with the present and optimistic about the future. Heather has a true gift for facilitating emotional healing and self-discovery.
