Had an amazing time at Navitat Canopy. We had Ethan and Hunter as tour guides and they were great. Went for a bachelorette trip and they made the experience so great. We highly recommend booking an experience with them. Made our trip so memorable. They took pictures throughout the trip and were able to purchase for a great price.

What an amazing experience! Our guide Ethan made it a wonderful time, and the views were absolutely stunning. I'd highly recommend if you're in the Asheville area!

Took my 10 year old daughter, it was both our first time. We loved it, our guides River & Hunter were awesome. I highly recommend it. Will be back next year!

While I was visiting Asheville this fall, I started exploring what I could do that was more active in the area and Navitat Canopy Adventures popped up so I did some research. 5 stars on multiple online review platforms and the Yelp reviews are strong so I sign up! And then spent all night wondering if I did the right thing... The next morning, I head on over, Navitat is northeast of Asheville proper and it takes about 30 minutes to get up there. Park your car in the dusty, dirt lot and get registered in the main building. I joined a family of four on the trip and they had two young boys (brave) doing the standard canopy tour. The guides strap you into your harness and while the helmet has an GoPro, adventure cam mount, I decide to hand-hold mine. You then take their super 4-wheel drive van up to the first zip line launch point and it is INSANE. The road this van traverses is not really a road, it's a mountain goat path but somehow you get up there. At times it feels as if the van is at a 45 degree angle but it's got some power. You get clipped in at the first tree stand, high off the ground. Then your zipline trolley is clipped in and your guide is chatting with the other guide on the other end by walkie-talkie. You're given the clear sign and off you go, whoosh! You're now flying above the trees and watching the foliage go by, cool! And my adventure cam is sort of tricky, if you take a hand off the trolley you start to spin around which is not comforting. My tour consists of 6 or so zips and the first one is actually the longest one (scariest) to start. And the guides are great, reassuring me since I'm nervous but I get over it soon. Overall it's a definite rush, a lot of fun and outside of some hiking through to the launch points, low-impact and easy. Will definitely do it again, next time I'm in the area but upgrade to the advanced Mountaintop tour! And all the five star reviews? Yeah, Navitat has earned them in my eyes...

It restores my faith and humanity to know that people are so honest. It does say this is a dog friendly activity, but a tied up barking dog on the other side of the fence made part of the journey a little bit difficult for my small dog. She was almost as frightened by the neighbor's dog as I was of some of the exhibits I went through that had sound and scared the heck out of me. They don't call it backyard terriers for nothing :) but it's all in fun. Don't be afraid of the parking even though it can get a little tight. We had fun and this is definitely an affordable way to kill some time and keep the kids busy while they learn.

We spent two nights in the fox den treehouse which is located in one of the llama pasture areas. The "treehouse" is a elevated wooden shed like structure that has been refurbished into a pleasant little hideaway in the Smoky's. The treehouse has a nice deck to sit and enjoy the mountain view. There's also a nice swing chair and firepit to enjoy as well. The treehouse has electricity with a small electric heater to take the chill out. The treehouse was very clean and the bed unbelievably comfortable. The treehouse is a one and only. If you are renting here you have the treehouse and llamas all to yourself. The property owner and host (Sandy) lives on the property and is available if you are in need of anything. Sandy is very personable and will spend time sharing of herself with her guests. On the llama walk each person usually gets there own llama to walk with. Sandy accompanies you and can answer any llama related question you may have. The walk is at a very leisurely pace and lasts about two hours. The llamas are easy to walk and well behaved. Contrary to popular opinion of some the llamas did not spit at one another. One thing to be aware of if staying in the treehouse is there is no running water and only a fancy bucket of a toilet in an outhouse under the treehouse. This didn't bother us, but for some that don't care for "roughing it" I could see it as a drawback. (There is a gas station about a mile away that we used the bathroom at. We are members of the YMCA at home. There's a Y a few miles away and with the Y reciprocity program we were able to go there to take a hot shower. The Wandering Llama was an awesome get away experience for us and Sandy is a great host. We appreciate her sharing her llamas.

We booked the 2-hour wine and cheese tour because it was the only tour that had open spots left (we booked about a week ahead). We skipped the wine and cheese part due to our concerns about COVID (the food is served in their open gazebo, so it's relatively safe - we just prefer taking extra precautions and had already eaten lunch just before we got there), but the llama hike alone was well worth it. The walk, about 1.5 hours total time, is along the gravel road, which is a little hilly, but manageable if you're fit (not so much if you have small kids that don't do a lot of walking). Most of the time was spent relaxing in an open field - very socially distant from the other eight people in our group - where we fed the llamas and took lots of pictures. The llamas are super friendly and so soft! Though Sandy (the owner) provides animal crackers and strawberries for the llamas to enjoy during the middle of the hike, definitely bring your own -- we brought graham crackers and sliced apples to feed them throughout the walk, and the llamas LOVE to eat! Sandy is very friendly and welcoming and took pictures of everyone during the hike, which she emailed to us later. A great highlight of our trip!

My 3 year old had a blast and there were some fun things to engage my 9 month old with too. The snack and beverage bar area was a notch above what you usually find at these types of places. The baked items looked good and they had some fun drink options. I really appreciated NOT having to pay for nonslip socks. Thank you. We brought our own. The birthday spaces were a great addition to the thoughtfully designed space. I also loved all the parent seating options. My biggest issue was that it's already a very loud space and there was also loud music blasting the entire time. It was pretty overwhelming to have all the kids yelling and screaming on top of the loud Disney ballads too. I really think playing some more chi music or maybe just at a lowered volume would be sooo much better. It was just too much. They had noise cancelling headphones available for use which I assumed were for kiddos who were overstimulated but mama considered putting these on just to drown out that loud music. I also kinda wish the construction vehicle and firetruck "rides" were free since we had already paid to get in.

Around 9:30am we boarded the shuttle and then shortly after we left for the Land of Oz; we got there right at 10am. Without giving anything away, I was surprised at how coordinated the event was, and how we followed a pre-planned path, but we never felt like we were being hurried to the next event. I was concerned our tween boys would think the whole thing was hokey, but they had a blast too. All of the actors gave it their all, and I never saw anyone break character, which was impressive considering the amount of improv and crowd work they did. We zoomed through most everything, and we were done by a little after noon. If we had taken our time and gotten food at the Emerald City, we easily could have spent 1-2 more hours. It was an exciting event, and I'm so glad we went. There were lots of people in our time slot (1 shuttle and two school buses full), but everything was so well paced that it didn't feel overcrowded. Bit of advice: bring water and snacks in a backpack unless you are ready to pay a premium to buy them at the Land of Oz.

Both of them were very knowledgable about Asheville, nature (i learned what poison ivy looks like) and biking. It took me a few minutes to get my ebike bearings, but then were off. The first part of the ride was on gravel, which was a little tricky, but it was all good when we hit the road. It also started raining and we got pretty wet...i couldn't decide if the rain made the ride miserable or more fun. Maybe both! The biking itself wasn't too hard and honestly we probably could have done it on regular bikes and gotten a workout, but i do find ebiking super fun. We stopped a few times, which helped with our sore butts and learned about the area. A few hours later we said goodbye to our new friends and headed back to Asheville (about an hour away). They also offer many other activities like white water rafting so recommended if you're looking for a little adventure.
