I read reviews on Google prior to switching from another flight school since it was so convenient. BIG mistake. Most reviews were from many years ago and were pretty good. That is no longer the case. My daughter spent 7 months there working on obtaining her PPL. I went and expressed we needed to be done a few months later and started flying more to be able to be complete. Two months later when I called the instructor multiple times to see when she could take the FAA exam I got no response. I sent notes with my child and still had no response. When I took her log book back to where we started, I found out that she basically didn't progress at all, had not had any instruction in basic areas needed for PPL, and had no solo time although she had completed a solo prior to starting there. She logged in over 60 hours of flight time over the 40 she already had. A complete waste of thousands of dollars!

I have been working towards my Commercial Pilot License ever since. I was able to fly 2-3 times a week with Marty and was elated when I was able fly my first solo, then cross country, and was eventually able to pass my private pilot license with just over the minimum hours. I did a lot of self study; however, Freeway is such an open environment for students with questions, I do not think I would have had the same success otherwise. Any time I had a question about something, or didn't understand, Marty, Joel, or any of the instructors were more than happy to help answer my question without talking down to me, esp being one of the few girls in entering the industry. I cannot speak more highly of this learning environment, knowledge of the instructors, and general awesomeness of Freeway.

A 3 hour tour was just right. Our son was excited to learn some sailing. The rest of us just relaxed to the sound of the wind and waves! To add to the great day, the sail starts and ends at the Deep Creek Restaurant on the Magothy River. To judge by the crowd, their Sunday Brunch is popular. We opted to take snacks on the sail and eat afterward on the patio. Everything was very good! Calamari was especially good. If you travel to Annapolis from west of DC through town, you will be happy to know the route is now fixed! The southwest freeway to 695 then to 295 north is open and marked! This is a really big deal! I'm a native, and this route has been broken all my life. In summary, a great day on the water! And an adventure to remember with cool pictures, no bruises, and good food!

Bought advance tickets to the Annapolis Trolley Tour. Had a hard time finding it (Main Street was…read moreclosed due to a farmers market) and missed the tour. I asked at the Visitors center if we can reschedule and was told no. However, it appears that you can buy tickets the same day so it's probably in your best interest to buy in person. My husband was able to find the trolley and see where it boards and said that a bunch of people were standing (just FYI). Tip: Dont buy advance tickets, the company will not reschedule if you're delayed due to traffic and local street closures.

Within the first portion of the class, the instructor clearly stated that taking pictures of the slides was allowed (no video or audio recording). That guidance directly contradicted what happened on the second night, when an individual who later claimed to be the owner abruptly interrupted the class and aggressively singled me out by name, threatening to remove me for doing exactly what we had been told was permitted. There was no attempt to clarify policy, no professionalism, and no respect shown. The situation escalated unnecessarily and created a hostile learning environment. I deescalated and continued the course, but the damage to the overall experience was already done. To make matters worse, once that individual left, the instructor admitted that we had, in fact, been told photos were allowed and apologized. That inconsistency and lack of leadership speaks volumes. As someone who coordinates trainings for a large security company and was actively evaluating potential providers, I can say this experience alone disqualified this organization from consideration. Consistency, professionalism, and clear communication are basic expectations for any training environment, and this fell short on all three. I would not recommend.
