I was out in Annapolis wondering around for the day and walked up to the 40 minute cruise 10 minutes before it left dock so my friends and I decided to jump on board and see what the experience would be. The ladies that were selling tickets were extremely nice and accommodating, they even offered us sunscreen since we were talking about being burned in the sun.. Once we boarded we went to the top level and got great seats to see all of the sights of Annapolis.. There wasn't many people on board so it was nice for our small group to really spread out and enjoy ourselves. I enjoyed the narration and all of the fun facts I would have never known about Annapolis! It's something I would do when I have visitors in town that want to do something with a little history.. read more

This was a Fireworks cruise (on July 4th), and just like last year...it was amazing! Actually it was BETTER than last year, because there was more room on the boat to see the fireworks from the open air. Last year there were just a few seats in the front that were open air, and it was a mad dash to claim the few prized seats. Much different this year ....everyone calmly came aboard . The staff was SO nice, and the snacks provided were perfect. A variety of lunch meat "sliders",chips, pretzels and big soft cookies! Of course the bar was wine and beer, and water. Prices for things are average, considering its a cruise. My wife and I had been out and about earlier in the day, so I had brought plenty of water and Gatorade. Any of the cruises are excellent, and it is a different perspective on Bmore from the water. I would highly recommend this to anyone. read more

Horrible horrible experience with this company. My daughter paid $180 for the cruise to st michaels for the wine fest. Ended up on a fricken school bus. Per the bus company watermark knew on Friday evening that they would not be taking boats in the morning and the afternoon ride back was iffy. No phone call no text no email. Not given anything promised. Not a watermark employee to be found anywhere when it was time to leave. They were hiding rather than assisting the hundreds of people that they screwed over Terrible experience. Should have told us there was an issue and given the opportunity to cancel. read more

Number 100 arrives with a bang. Something different I propose! Let's wander on a cruise of the Severn River that runs into Annapolis Maryland. First off, you get to wander by the US Naval Academy. Secondly the have a full bar, with craft beer so I was happy! The tour lasts 90 minutes. You leave Annapolis and head upriver. There are many veyr cool historical places to see along the way. The coolest thing for me was to see the US Naval Academy from the water side. We've seen it from the land side many times. I want to go visit the burial place of John Paul Jones. Overall the cruise was amazing. We actually got to sit at a table with another couple (theyw ere celebrating their anniversary). We had a wonderful conversation. It wasn't a hot, hot day in fact on the water it was pretty cool and comfortable. Great cruise, great way to see the city of Annapolis Maryland! Oh yeah, and crack 100 reviews! read more

Took a Queen Harbor 40 min cruise. These cruises leave every hour, on the hour basically. There was a bathroom and bar on here. Plenty of seats. Automated tour, with a tour guide to make additional comments if necessary. Walked up 5 minutes before the cruise took off and got on. $18 for adults. On a hot Sunday summer, the breeze was perfect on this boat. Talks a lot about the history of the naval academy and other buildings and bridges along the shoreline. This was nice! read more

My wife and I really enjoyed the three hour inner harbor tour in Baltimore! Truly a great time. The only thing that was bad is really out of the control of Watermark. The Inner Harbor of Baltimore is really littered. Also, there was some gang members harassing people on the dock and police had to be called. I would recommend going to the Annapolis cruises over Baltimore. With that being said, our bartender Colleen was great! Super fast and friendly. She made great drinks and was making jokes. Definitely wished she was at my local bar. The band playing, Tranzfusion, was incredible! Classic rock was spot on. They started playing as soon as we left the dock and didn't stop until we got back (three hours). Can't beat that for $38 a ticket. Overall, I would recommend this harbor cruise to anyone. read more

We had a great time on the cruise when our friends came to visit and family visit on a different occation. Both times we had fun and the tide was much gentle on the 2nd time around due to less winds on the bay. The staffs are really warm and welcoming. The audio description of the landmarks nearby is informative and clear. Highly recommed if you are in Annapolis. read more

The price is right but the tour was meh. I wish I would've known prior to taking my seat that every attraction they would direct us to would be on the left side, because OF COURSE I was not sitting on the left side. The tour was kind of boring, I lost interest about halfway through, either because I was too focused picking up burnt popcorn that my kid had thrown on the ground or because the tour was just boring...maybe i'll try one day on my own so I can get a conclusive answer either way, 24 bucks for an adult and 2 kids to ride a boat for 40 minutes was a decent price read more

I cannot review the boat ride because they canceled it that morning because of high winds. I understand the safety issue. So, we rode school buses instead. Listening to the complaining, bitchy women on the way. That was entertaining. We were not given much guidance, but finally found out we were to meet the boat to take us home at the dock at 4:30; to leave at 5. The wind had died down earlier in the afternoon. We decided to tour the museum around 3:30PM and the lady working at the museum told us our boat was now a school bus again. No wind... Why did she tell us and not the Watermark people via text or email? Anyhow, we found the bus. Drunk women were piling in, bitching the whole time. Grandma vomiting on the bus etc.... The poor Watermark people were only following orders from some idiot high on the chain. Riding back on the bus with drunk women harassing the poor bus driver who had nothing to do with the situation was fun...What I learned: These are not the kind of people I would want to be with on a boat, bus etc. Watermark handled it horribly. All in all, hubby and I know how to handle ourselves with dignity and class. We loved the wine festival, learned about the regional wine without a goal of getting drunk off tastings and can have fun (and learn) in any situation. I would not recommend Watermark or try it again though. UPDATE: They did send us an email and will be refunding our money, so I am adding a star read more

Really enjoyed the cruise to St. Michael's for the day. Crew was friendly and knowledgeable, the boat was not overcrowded, and the other passengers were relaxed and fun. It's a bit pricey, but we had perfect weather and it was a great day. Oh - and Captain Lee's docking skills were amazing and flawless in tricky docking situations. Bravo! It was my MIL's birthday and we wanted to do something fun with her. Since she's 92, mostly blind and has trouble walking, it needed to be something easy that she could handle. When we first thought about a harbor cruise, I really wanted to try the Seadog Powerboat, but realized that there is no way she could handle it. After a little research we ended up with Watermark's 40 minute cruise. It turned out to be the perfect choice. Although it was a gorgeous day, the harbor wasn't very crowded and neither was the boat. They had one of those prerecorded spiels about the buildings and the history of the Inner Harbor and of Baltimore. It was actually pretty interesting and I think we all learned some new information. Special thanks to the captain and crew for giving my MIL a birthday shout-out and an offer of a free drink. Nice touch, and she loved it! read more

You're a tourist. You're hot and the ice cream line is long, so what else can you do with your day? Watermark cruises are easy to hop on, they run frequently and the end result is a boat ride. What could be better?! Man I love boat rides. I wish I owned a boat, without all the financial stress owning a boat entails, of course. So paying $13 for 40 minutes gliding across the Annapolis shoreline is well worth it to me. Feeling like a tour on a warm July day and not in the mood to drive all the way to DC or Philly and fight our way through the crowds, we drove down to Annapolis instead. After a great lunch at Reynolds Tavern (see review) we decided that there would be no better way to work off the food than to go on one of the 3-hour walking tours. Not having done this before, I will now definitely recommend it to anyone new to the area or rusty on their history. Led by our very knowledgable and friendly tour guide Squire Douglas, in full colonial attire with haversack, we set off from the dockside visitors center around 1:30 pm. First stop: Some of the oldest houses in the colony. Douglas had a number of interesting factoids to share, not just about dress and manners in the olden days, but also about the colony, city, and architecture. Next, and in some sense best, came a long walking tour of the Naval Academy (photo ID required!). Douglas, an ex-navy man, took us throughout the facility, including a walk through the chapel, dorms, and the tomb of John Paul Jones, all with a soundtrack of excellent stories, photos, and history of both the navy and the academy itself. Excellent. Following the academy we walked to the government sector and toured the State House (again, bring ID). Washington resigned his commission here, so it was a place of great history. Again, the guide was full of interesting information. I will most certainly retain the tour as one of my regular visitor recommendations. A beautiful way to spend an afternoon. read more

This is a review for the 2 1/4-hour walking tour of Annapolis. Watermark also has an African-American Heritage Tour, a Haunted Annapolis Tour, and cruises. Check times, dates, and departure locations on the website. ****************************** I whole-heartedly recommend this tour for locals (like me) with out-of-town guests. We had colonial-attired "Mistress Alison" as our guide. She was extremely knowledgeable, professional, although a tad soft spoken. She also did what she could to keep our group in the shade on a 90-degree day. Alison was a great sport as we had 3 Naval Academy grads in our group who wanted to be assistant tour guides once we entered the yard. Even when we were well over the advertised 2 1/4 hours, she didn't rush us out the gate. HEY WATERMARK!! She's a keeper! Highlights of our tour: * I sheepishly admit, that I had never stepped foot in the Annapolis statehouse before in my life. This is where Washington resigned his commission. The dome is completely made out of wood. No nails. * We actually got to see the arch of swords after a Naval Academy wedding on the chapel (more like a cathedral) steps. This is going to become a regular addition to activities we plan for our visitors. Two key tips: 1) Wear comfortable walking shoes or sandals, and 2) You absolutely, positively have to, have to have a picture ID to get onto to the Naval Academy. read more

I like this company. It's pretty much your average water cruise company but it's really convenient (since it's right in downtown Annapolis at the City Dock) and the crew is really nice. My boyfriend and I have done the Naval Academy by boat tour and the presentation was insightful. We sat back on a sunny day and drank a few beers while listening to the recordings. We've also been on a concert on the Queen Anne (I think) that left from City Dock. It was sponsored by Galway Bay and had the Irish Rovers performing. It was a lot of fun dancing below deck to the Rovers, drinking Guiness and Harp, and going to the top deck to cool off and enjoy the sights. Finally, I wanted to write a review of the Watermark Water Taxi service as well. I really love this service. We usually try to use it when the weather is nice to go over to Eastport. You pay a couple of dollars a head and you get to cut across to wherever you're going by water. It's neat to do when we have friends and family visiting from out of town because I'm from Illinois and we don't have too many of these sorts of things there. The drivers of the boats are also really friendly (especially John!) and they're always willing to give good advice of places you should visit that are local. read more

This is a review not for the cruises, but for Watermark's taxi service. A great way to get from some areas (i.e., Truxton Park) to Annapolis Harbor, without having to worry about those hard-to-nab parking spots. From Truxton Park to the Annapolis dock, the ride is about 10 minutes and costs $5 per person. The water taxis respond quickly to phone calls and are pretty true to their pick-up time estimates. The captain (I believe his name was Charlie?) of the little vessel also provided great company and lots of history of the Annapolis area. Very neat. read more

Fun-filled day on the Chesapeake Bay! On Saturday July 2nd, my wife and I booked the day cruise to St. Michaels. The cost ($80 each) included a non-alcoholic drink ticket and a donut from a local pastry shop. There were plenty of donuts leftover for those who wanted seconds, thirds, etc. The cost also included admission to the museum. Although this is geared for us (tourists), I believe the locals would enjoy this too. The weather called for showers, but was glad it turned out beautiful. Touring the bay bridge area of Annapolis was AWESOME! Quick 90 minute tour on a Saturday afrernoon. There were 2 levels to the boat with the ability to sit in- or outside and/or stand in the front of the boat. Despite their being plenty of space, there isn't enough seating! Went with a group of 14 people with half of them elderly. It was hard finding enough seating together and inside (due to heat) to make sure we enjoyed our birthday celebration together. read more

Took a 90 minute tour to the lighthouse. It was very relaxing. The staff was as friendly as you get. It was very refreshing to have a nice little cruise and a beverage.. When I first arrived I spoke with the girls at the little hut and told them I reserved my tickets online. She told me to proceed to the line without giving me the tickets I later found out I needed. I end up having to get out of line during boarding, she sensed my frustrated and got the tickets right aways so I wasn't to far behind were I was in line. The seating was a bit awkward there were table and most people stood or faced the chairs looking out to the water, which makes sense to me. All in all the little mishaps didn't not effect our mini trip. It was very nice and I plan to take another cruise this summer when my family visits... read more

We booked the Catherine Marie for a welcome cruise during my wedding weekend. I would say the service and drinks were better then the reception portion the next day! Everyone loved the cruise and I felt it was money well spent during the weekend. If you plan to charter this yacht I would suggest definitely doing the consumption bar since their bar packages do not have great selections. We also had catered service from whole foods and this was a hit on the boat! They even allowed me to play my iPhone radio via their speaker system the entire ride! Loved it! read more

My boyfriend and I were in Annapolis for the weekend, and when we arrived on Saturday we established that a 40-min boat cruise was a must. However, the boats were absolutely mobbed. As we did other touristy things we'd occasionally get a glimpse of one of these boats chock full of people. Not one for crowds, we decided to wait and it was a great idea! Sunday morning, 10:45 am. We found the dock area almost completely deserted, so we bought tickets and were among the first on board for the 11 am cruise. I'd say in total, there were maybe 20 people when the boat departed. Compared to about 80-100 we had seen on Saturday, it was awesome! Room to walk around, and lots of space. The tour itself is great - good views, not too long but you definitely get your money's worth. Make sure to go on Sunday morning! read more

This review is for the Four Centuries walking tour, which I have now done twice. Both times were exceptional. Both tour guides, who are in character, really knew the history of the city and the buildings and were excited to share their city with us. We toured the Naval Academy (we got to go in the chapel when I went in August, but not in June because it was booked with weddings), John Paul Jones' crypt, St Anne's parish, and the State House. We even saw the Governor outside the Governor's mansion, a nice bonus! This is a great way to see the city and it lasts long enough that you really get a lot out of it. There is a good bit of walking, so wear comfortable shoes! read more

Staff and crew helped me plan & execute a memorial cruise of 3 hours. They were helpful, informative, and always clear in their dealings. Although not cheap, it was very reasonable for what you get: * 95' yacht, the Catherine Marie, which easily fits almost 200. Seated, we had about 65-70 and were very comfortable, sound system, two bar areas, clean and spacious restrooms. * Everything was perfectly clean and special requests such as moving chairs and tables, were pleasantly accommodated without extra charge. * Crew was professional and pleasant. Since the day had dangerously high wind gusts we were unable to go cruising on the Bay, and without being asked, the office took off the extra charges for gas and the Annapolis City Docking charges. read more

I took the 40 minutes cruise on the Harbor Queen. The boat was nice and there was plenty of seating. The staff was ok. However, it was not a tour I would recommend or do again. There was nothing that you saw from the boat that you couldn't see from somewhere else. If you do take the cruise, make sure to sit on the left side of the boat as the entire narration tells you to look to the left to see... Overall, it was nice to be on the water, but not something that is necessary to do. read more

Must do trip from Annapolis to St. Michaels! The Watermark is a very nice boat, well run and organized. Captain Dean and the staff are very personal and the trip itself was Glorious! My family makes this an annual, and it only gets better each year. Going on this trip (about 2 hours over and 2 hours back, the ride is beautiful past the Bay Bridge and over to the shore. The restaurants and shops are so nice in St. Michaels. This day trip feels like you have been gone for days...Spectacular!! read more
