Fairview Marina - Flooded side deck due to clogged drain. Certainly no fault of the marina's but I would've hoped for a heads up call or email.

Jake took over the winterization and cleaning of the bilge which was promptly done. He made it look "as though " you could eat off the floor." My winter project was having a fiberglass repair where my davits had cracked the ledge on top of the transom. Marc helped me with my insurance claim and kept in touch through out the process. He not only strengthened the area well beyond the original specs, he made it look aesthetically much better than new. The pride the Kahan's have in their Marina shows everywhere by the excellent condition of the slips, the buildings, and the landscape. Charles Rosensweig

I stayed at Fairview Marina for several years and ultimately decided to leave because of repeated…read moreunpleasant interactions with management, culminating in an incident on October 20, 2025. A friend of mine came by my boat around 5 PM to help me with some minor varnish work. According to her, (I was not on the boat at the time) Marc approached her and immediately accused her of lying about checking in, called her a "fucking liar," and told her to "get the fuck out of my marina" before she had any opportunity to explain the situation. She left the marina and called me immediately afterward and was in tears. This situation was especially frustrating because the marina office hours were posted as ending at 4:30 PM, and she was not there operating a commercial business. She was simply helping me as a friend. Regardless, the interaction was completely unprofessional and unnecessarily hostile. The situation escalated further when the owner of the marine service company she worked for informed me they would no longer perform work at Fairview because of prior interactions with management and the way this incident was handled. As a result, I had to relocate my boat to another marina for approximately a week so the work could be completed, costing me an additional $481 in slip fees, along with the inconvenience of moving the boat mid-project. What makes this particularly disappointing is that Fairview itself is a well-protected and otherwise attractive marina. Unfortunately, my experience with management consistently made the atmosphere feel tense and unwelcoming rather than enjoyable. I also experienced poor communication regarding issues on my boat while it was in the water. At one point I returned to find my side decks flooded due to clogged deck drains. While I cannot say whether staff noticed it, nobody contacted me or gave me any heads up. Others may have a different experience, but after everything that occurred, I would not stay there again.

Old Bay Marina - Drop Day 2026

Old Bay Marina

Drop day 2026 didn't go as expected but it got done. Having had some work done on the boat back in…read morethe fall, and said mechanic having stolen my money and left my boat a mess, I was happy to see Old Bay Marina has a new guy available to do the work. I'm out $900 from Craig H who skipped town and left me high and dry (literally on the hard) without a working sailboat. Don Johnson to the rescue. Don was right on time with a drop time for my boat and had it in the water quickly while his parrot named Gabby rode along on his shoulder. It was then we discovered it wouldn't start. Can't motor over to the slip with no power. Don, Jarod, Stu and even Don's partner, Holly, sprang into action. A tug was needed. The wind picked up as we turned into the slip section. We were hitting boats, pylons, anything the wind could blow us into. Unfazed and determined, Don kept his cool and coordinated efforts to have everyone else, plus some other boat owners (thanks, Lisa and Joyce!), to help "walk" the boat into the slip. How stressful! Almost six hours, and 8 people to help, later, the boat was in and tied off. To add some excitement, our car was now dead and Don got right to work to give us a jump and get us out of there. I definitely owe this crew a case of Bud. Don is currently doing the work that Craig lied about doing and we should be on the Bay in no time. Thanks, Don Johnson! (Doesn't the Miami Vice theme run through your head when you read this?)

Looking for quick access to the Bay? Looking for a nice breeze? Looking for a mom and pop place to do your work and tie up your boat? Looking for decent prices? Looking for interesting people to chat with? Then this quite possibly is your kinda of place. The piers are not floating but generally there is not much of a tide. If you have a large keel you would need to be further out because there can be a depth issue closer to land. Brian the owner is a wealth of information! This is across from the former Beth Steel site but now is much quieter and much easier to breath. Give it a try!!!!

This place is pretty garbage for several reasons. Where shall I begin?…read more 1. How long has this creek in general but unsuitable for swimming? I won't knock the marina for this one but it's the first reason to steer clear. 2. 15.00 dollars to launch is ridiculous. 3. The ramp itself is not steep enough. I have an SUV and had to back in farther than I'm comfortable with to launch an 18 foot bass boat. I end up having to push the boat off because I don't want my backseat to get flooded. (okay its not quite that bad but you will back in well over you exhaust pipe.) 4. Trying to drive your boat up on to the trailer is difficult here. There are lots of old wood pilings in the water and the dock in general is in the way. I use the trolling motor mostly to trailer and then wench it up. 5. No one is ever at the building. Instead they make you fill out this form and slide the money in the door. Basically just collecting your money for doing nothing. 6. Pulling out of the marina is on a steep hill. If you don't have momentum going up your going to spin your tires. The problem is there is a steep curve and its hard to see cars coming so you almost have to stop at the top. 7. overall just avoid this place if you can.
