We have had a handyman for 10 years. He recently moved to a set of properties getting renovated by 2 former active duty Marines. He now cares for the properties while they are elsewhere. They have business and personal banking here. Staff here is capable and friendly. There's a security/info station as one walks in. However...Navy Credit Union is not on the same cooperating network as my credit union. When I need to do business with the Marines, I must drive a check over. But...I do not think you have to be a veteran, particulatly, naval, to have an account. Credit unions are such an excellent banking value, the monster, fee-laden megabanks try crushing them with weaponized legislation. Keep Our Credit Unions Afloat! Less fees, more Joy! read more

Extremely uncooperative and not helpful at all with wire transfers from outside of the country. Hold your money and won't release it because they feel it is not a proper transaction. Don't know who decided to make these guys judge in jury bank with anybody other than these people. read more

Great people work there, I am glad I switched over to Navy Federal. It is nice to not have feel like I am looking into an aquarium. The services they offer surpass any non-credit union bank hands down. This location compared to banks has more of a professional feel and attitude, the bankers are well spoken and dressed nice, gives me confidence to see adults handling my money and business. been a member for over 10yrs... Overall the service is superior to any other regular bank I have used. BUT without warning, NFCU changed the policy regarding cashier's checks. cashier's checks [which NFCU also issue] are supposed to be like 'cash' since the issuing bank or financial institution have taken the funds directly from the issuer's account and have assured the funds to be available in order to create the check in the first place. this gives the recipient the assurance that this amount has already been set aside from the issuer's acct to pay out when deposited. any regular check; personal, payroll, etc., has a 2-3 day hold when deposited to verify that funds are available etc. yet, NFCU's NEW policy is that, upon receiving this type of check from any institution including themselves, is to have a 48hr 'hold' on any cashier's check deposited/cashed into a NFCU branch. which now makes it about the same as a personal check. this policy is unlike any other bank I have ever used i my life, a waste of time issuing them and defeating the entire purpose of the cashier's check! shocked and disappointed when asking about my own NFCU issued cashier's check, if I needed to put it back into my own acct! read more

Upcoming holiday would've been much happier if NFCU hadn't approved my Tesla auto loan @ 2.29%, only to provide a promissory note @ 3.99% (1.7% higher) upon arrival in person to pickup today. Supervisor stated our call record was missing, and the originating loan officer wouldn't confirm her statements from only 30 mins prior. To be clear, the supervisor and loan officer (Connie) were at the corporate number. I arrived to pickup the check from this location. Staff here was kind and professional. Corporate's error doesn't offset this unfortunately, as I am scheduled to pickup the vehicle as soon as tomorrow from out of state without financing in place. read more

Full Disclosure- I've been a member for more than 40 years. Had 3 mortgages and lots of loans as well as checking, savings, line of credit, business and all the rest. The mortgages were SUPERIOR in every case. The rules around joining are clear and veterans are allowed to join. The most recent added a line of credit and my feeling is that if I am alive I will stay with them another 40 years. read more

I opened an account under their special "refer a friend promo". Not only did I not receive the $25 promised, neither did the member who referred me. Although they sent me a debit card and told me my account was opened they closed my account three months later with no forewarning and tried to mail my $50 to an old address without notifying me. They said I never provided proof of address and they couldn't open my account. Very strange considering they mailed me a debit card and sent me an email welcoming me as a member. Now my money is lost in the mail and they're telling me I have to wait 91 days before I can get my money back. Very unprofessional and disorganized. Be wary of this institution. read more

The ATM at this location is never working properly. I've received "Unable to take deposits at this time " 10 times after hours. It's a huge pain because I have to drive all the way across town just to have this machine not work. If you decide to go in for a deposit, you have a 50/50 chance of getting a condescending couple of 20 something male bankers with weird plucked eyebrows that can't be bothered with questions you might have. It's ridiculous. Other options are drive to bell or way out west. Inconvenient all the way around. read more

Decided to use them for our mortgage loan and WOULD NOT recommend. They're processing department takes days if not weeks to answer simple questions and you may not get your closing disclosure within the required 3 days prior to closing. I've had a terrible experience with them and, if I had the time, I'd go to another lender. I'm already looking forward to refinancing. read more

Have been a member for years and this is the second time I have been hit with an insufficent funds fee when there was money in the account. Not only do I use direct deposit but also when depositing checks I use their online app. They like the excuse that yes there was money in the account but the debits are taken out before the credits are posted. This time out I deposited over a $1000.00 on Saturday and on Wednesday I am notified I have a return fee for a $420.00 payment even though there is $423.00 in the account and they still haven't credited my deposit from Saturday for over a $1000.00. Seriously getting tired of their crap. read more

Got double charged as well as an error when I tried to check an account. Kept getting an error when trying to check my card. Also couldn't dispute the double charges. Not very user friendly unless you roll over and get taken advantage off. read more

I'm glad they finally got a location closer to the middle of the Phoenix area than the one in Mesa and the one at Luke. A pain to get in and out of given the location, but the place is fresh inside with great helpful staff and it is now my go to place for all my banking needs. read more

I, like millions of Americans in 2008-2011 filed bankruptcy because I lost my job and was not able to make the same amount of money I was making with the two new jobs I found. I tried to refinance my vehicles with NFCU since I had the original loan with them. I told them that I could no longer afford the payments but they refused because they said that I'd made a few late payments. I explained my situation but they refused to help me and so did many of my other creditors so I filed bankruptcy. Fast forward over 10 years....now I have a stable job, I re-established my credit with a score over 800 and decided to apply for one of their credit card offers. The credit union sent me a letter indicating that I was turned down for credit because I had caused them a financial loss in the past....but remember, this loss was due to their unwillingness to refinance me. What happened to caring for and helping members? It NFCU that caused their own loss because I would have been able to keep making the payments if they had just lowered my payment. In the end they would have made more money on interest charges. read more

Most of my banking is done online and over the phone, but on the few times I have been to this branch, I have always been treated with respect and eagerness to help me. Best experience at a credit union in many years and have not had any real bad ones. Very efficient and knowledgeable staff. Have had Sooooo many very bad experiences with banks over the years especially wells ago. I tried to join Navy a few years ago but 4 years AF, Vietnam, 23 yrs FAA, still didn't count. Then I was pleasantly surprised to find they were accepting veterans. I signed up immediately. Highly recommend for Vets. Get far away from banks then run! read more
