Because of a snowstorm on the morning we left, the front desk offered ice scrapers to dig out our vehicles. common spaces: There are tables and chairs in the lobby for use at breakfast. Appears there is coffee round-the-clock. food and beverage: No bar or restaurant and only a handful of places in North Chicago, but Lake Bluff and Lake Forest are nearby with tons of options. The complimentary breakfast is just fine. Bonus points for the Navy's logo appearing in the center of the waffle press! other: The lodge has a large vending area with ice and filtered water. The shuttle is reliable, fast, and way less stressful. The rooms were neat and functional. Pillows were firm, which we appreciate. Nothing fancy, but comfortable and clean, with solid Wi-Fi. The rooms were labeled by what looked like sticky notes taped to the door. There was no comforter, just a blanket between two sheets, not even a duvet cover. Cleaning the breakfast room while people are watching the navy graduation, talking the whole time, acting like we are a nuisance, and then turning off the lights on us. This is something that is advertised that they do and posted in their lobby. The shuttle service that they offer is listed as $10 per shuttle not the $6 on their website. I truly hope you as a reader choose somewhere else to stay. For the price that these rooms are listed for this should not be the expectation.

Booked a room for my son after he had to leave his Airbnb bc of gunshots outside as well as a group of men approaching his car at the red light. It was the middle of the night so had to reserve room for an 8am checkin- it was only 3am at this point. He had not had any sleep and tried to wait in the lobby until check in and was screamed at by a hotel employee that he was not allowed to wait in the lobby. He called me, and I told them we are Marriott timeshare owners ( gold elite bonvoy) and asked if there was a resolution where he could even just wait in his car until his room was ready. ( I had already paid the $268 for it) was told no- they didnt care and if he was on property until his room was ready they would call the police on him. He is a mild mannered, quiet kid so he wasnt causing any disturbance, except for the hotel employee, when she started screaming at him. I explained that he would be unsafe driving without sleep and trying to wait for his room at a gas station at 3am in Chicago and they said that is not their problem. I told them to just cancel the reservation. He had to drive an hour and a half to find a hotel and we were lucky he did not fall asleep at the wheel. I called the hotel the next day and the manager, Robert doubled down and said they handled everything appropriately. Is this the way you treat your guest, your Marriott timeshare owners, bonvoy members? No apology, no care, no concern?

Also, the desk chair in our room was badly stained and there was just a Hampton Inn & Suites level of comfort missing. If we ever go back to Great Lakes / Waukegan, we will choose a different hotel.

She had No answer when I asked why it wasn't on their website that this was planned. They did not see why there should be A Notice on their side that this was going to occur.
