Clean rooms, friendly staff, housekeeping staff very pleasant, nice breakfast with coffee, and beautiful oceanfront. Quick and right on the beach!

This is one of my fav Navy Lodges which so happens to be located on Mayport Naval Base right on the beach! Very easy to reserve rooms online and happy with the room cleanliness/readiness and customer service provided by the Navy Lodge staff! The Conference Center and ballroom is right next door so very convenient to be able to host an event with"beach lodging" in JAX! DOD ID is a "must have" in order to access the base and The Navy Lodge! This is a good place to stay!

Excellent Navy Lodge on the beach!~ Freshly renovated rooms with a fresh coat of paint on the exterior!~ Breakfast to-go bags were nice. Plenty of parking. Wifi worked great as well!~ And the Staff was very nice and helpful. Excellent room rates!

I know once the remodeling (looks like they just started) this will be close to 5 stars. If you have ever stayed at a Navy Lodge you will know that the price is affordable in some not so affordable areas and the fact that this is literally yards from the Atlantic Ocean drives that point home. For a mere $3 upgrade fee we had a balcony view meaning you roll to the other side of the bed and watch the sun rise.....incredible. The rooms are clean/spotless 99% of the time but not so much this time but oh well. The staff really needs to let go of the federal employee attitude (even though they are not) and get bit by the hospitality bug because they are relatively cold and rude. I'm not used to a Navy Lodge providing breakfast but this one provided a brown bag breakfast with a yogurt, danish, and apple juice. There was also a coffee dispenser with decent coffee. I think they must have put some more $$ into the grounds because they were immaculate and made the exterior rival most beach side locations. My only suggestion is to not have the sprinklers going until noon but that may have been because the sod was new. Oh well, minor details. Overall this is by far our favorite beach location because it is so laid back and the beach is on federal property so its like your own private oasis. Definitely stay here and NOT the Jacksonville Air Station Lodge.

My fist time on base for an event. I was attending a wedding. First impression, the building seemed very generic on the exterior and it was not labelled how I'm use to other locations being labelled but people did help us to find it (major cool points). Once inside I was impressed with the diversity of rooms inside this venue (bar room, main room, party room, VERY NICE outdoor seating, and other really cool room that the bridal party was using to get ready. Ok pros: set up for the reception AMAZING, service: perfect timing, staff: approachable and helpful. Food: pretty good, bathroom: nothing too spectacular but lots of mirrors and very clean! Cons: nothing that I can think of! Ha that's a first for me i usually can always think of something!!!!

When we are doing road trips we try to stay at this Navy Lodge because it is located right on the beach, and if you pay for the upgrade you can get a beach view. The rooms at this location are always clean and the staff are always accommodating to our needs. Another great thing is that the pool is next door to the hotel and the bowling alley is only a short walk away. I also like that there is free breakfast in the morning. For what you pay a night to stay at this location compared to other hotels on the beach, this is a great place to stay.

We had stayed here a few years ago and it's much improved. Rooms have been redone and beds are very comfortable. Prices are reasonable and you can't beat the view from our balcony of the ocean. The breakfast was very minimal, but well stocked and clean. EVERYONE was very friendly and helpful. We had a problem with our shower drain and it was fixed right away. This is the perfect place to stay if you are visiting Mayport Navy Base.

The location really is unbeatable, great restaurants, Target, and shopping all nearby, and multiple beaches less than 15 minutes away. The hotel itself is brand new which makes a real difference, everything feels fresh, clean, and modern. The staff is genuinely kind and helpful throughout. For a hotel it is remarkably quiet overall, which is a big plus. The only downside was we arrived around 3 pm and they don't offer early check in. A couple of things worth noting for light sleepers, there is some highway noise and the usual sounds of doors opening and closing that come with any hotel. The AC system is whisper quiet which is great for keeping the room cool but won't provide much white noise to drown out sound. If you rely on white noise to sleep, bring a backup plan like a white noise app! Overall a really solid, well located hotel that we'd happily stay at again. Especially if you're visiting Mayo Clinic, you truly couldn't ask for a more convenient location.

Earlier this month I made a reservation with my anniversary night for candlewood suites in Jacksonville for one night. After arriving to the hotel we noticed roaches in the room. We asked for a new room and they gave us one on a different floor on the other side of the hotel, and this one also had roaches. Seeing this, we decided to book a different hotel through IHG for 21,000 points and even though it took us an hour to get there due to stormy weather, it ultimately brought us closer to the airport so at the time I thought it was worth the drive. I set up a claim that night, and was calling back every few days to check on the status, but then Christmas activities started happening and I just got around to calling back now. I got hung up on twice, and spent about 2 hours total on the phone to be told 15,000 points is the maximum they can give me for the inconvenience. This puts me out the anniversary night, which is the only reason for keeping the card, 6,000 points, the time and gas it took to get to and from the hotel, and the 2 hours of frustration

The first night, a busy Saturday night, I was kept awake by the sounds of trucks and motorcycles roaring by. The only positives were that the room was clean, and the location was a quick walk to the charming Atlantic Beach downtown. The bed and pillows were terrible - lumpy, uncomfortable and old. Making it worse was that the office was only open from 10-5, and we had prearranged tours booked that precluded us from being at the hotel during those hours. We paid for 3 nights at the wildly exorbitant rate of $300/night, but checked out after 2 sleepless nights. My written complaints to the manager (we checked out before 10:00) went unanswered.

This was the site of their post-wedding Sunday pool brunch. They had reserved the hotel's entire fenced-in pool area for the brunch, which is one big reason I think they chose this place. We had a great time. According to Salt Air's website (https://www.visitsaltair.com/about.html), this hotel was originally built in 1946 as the Salt Air Motel. It definitely has that older motel feel, which I can actually find to be appealing. Also according to the site, the hotel was rebuilt in 2022, which makes sense. The whole property felt updated and refreshed to me. It's not a big place, sandwiched in between a McDonald's and the Hotel Palms. Parking is somewhat limited. When we first arrived, I accidentally parked at the Hotel Palms thinking it was Salt Air. They both have similar old-school motel vibes, but modernized to be more chic (Hotel Palms especially so). Hotel Palms was built only a year after Salt Air, in 1947. However, unlike Salt Air, Hotel Palms does not have a pool. They do have a cool little coffee shop though, which we visited. It's called Show Pigeon Coffee. If you're staying at Salt Air, it's definitely worth walking next door to check it out. The Sunday pool brunch ended promptly at 1pm so the hotel could clean the rooms and common areas in preparation for the next batch of guests. I liked the low-key, retro atmosphere of Salt Air. From/to Jacksonville International Airport, I would plan for about a 45-minute drive each way due to traffic. Salt Air is only a few blocks away from the beach.
