I was able to spend the day here with a ResortPass and I must say the check-in process was smooth and I did have to pay and $10 fee to park. There were plenty chairs and umbrellas for you to lounging at the pool now what I did not like it was when I arrive. The pool was nasty so they had someone come clean it but that took about an hour and a half before you could get in the pool. Besides that I enjoyed the accessible entrance to the beach the views were amazing and I also like that the lemon bar was adjacent from the pool so that caused for a great happy hour. My husband & I stayed 5 nights in May2026. We were there to have a relaxing vacation. The cost was over $400/per night (booked thru Expedia - cheaper than direct) which is a lot for motel accommodations, but we were excited for the location. Staff was pleasant but housekeeping was lacking or non-existent. Saturday/Festival - We had no idea nor were we informed of this huge festival that would take over the courtyard. The pool was closed for that entire day & we were not informed of that until we checked in. The courtyard turned into a "frat party" with port a potties directly beneath our balcony. The live music and noise was impossible to ignore. We did not get any sleep and were not able to use the pool, go to the Lemon Bar (PACKED), or quietly lounge on our balcony to read or enjoy the view. Additionally, we had a biking trip planned for Saturday morning. When we tried to leave the parking lot, we were told that we could not carry our backpack or supplies OUT or IN. After sending 2 emails, I reached out & spoke to Trina (Manager). I req 1 night credit for the festival. She told me I had to contact Expedia. I did so, they reached out & received no response to approve the credit after SEVERAL attempts. Expedia did end up crediting me some One Key Cash for the inconvenience so no complaints with them. Bottom line, very disappointed in how this was handled and I would not stay here again - festival or no festival EVER! Lots of great places in Neptune Beach - suggest you go elsewhere! read more

I booked this hotel through Expedia but accidentally selected the wrong dates. I realized the mistake almost immediately and canceled the incorrect booking within ten minutes, then rebooked for our actual stay. We only occupied the hotel on our correct dates, so the property suffered no loss. Despite this, I was charged $517.94 for the unused, promptly-canceled reservation. Neither the hotel nor Expedia would help with a refund--every attempt to reach the property was ignored, and Expedia claimed the hotel alone could authorize a refund. This rigid, unresponsive policy has put a real financial burden on my working family. Businesses should treat guests fairly when honest mistakes are corrected instantly. May 17.25 they said once a year they do like a pool side party. They set up all kind of beer tents. Portapotties a lot of speakers and they said thousands of ppl come. Let me start by stating that I love this place! If you're looking for an old-fashioned beach stay, you will find it here. Beds are comfortable, the staff, beach, pool, many shops and restaurants within walking distance. The parking is free. Stay every chance I get and have had the best experiences. That said, the last visit was marred by a bartender that deliberately mislead my guest and I regarding happy hour. He was asked prior to ordering if a bloody mary was included on happy hour. He stated it was. However, when the bill was presented, we were charged $9 per drink vs the advertised $4. When questioned he stated the "vodka was on happy hour, but the bloody mary mix was $5 per drink." When questioned why he failed to inform us when we asked originally. He shrugged his shoulders and walked away. His name was Aaron. I suggest doublechecking your bill if he serves you. Would have brought it to the attention of the blonde manager, but I witnessed her dealing with a guest rather rudely prior. Maybe even consider skipping the LB altogether? Otherwise, go! Be prepared to carry your belongings up 2 flights if you book second floor or third floor, which I would recommend if you want to view waves from balcony. Happy beaching everyone! read more

I was woken up after my first night twice by the front desk at 6 AM asking me information about a car parked in their lot...and when I check in I did not have a vehicle to register. I was never informed via booking or checking in they had an event that took over the property for that last half I stayed there. The miscommunication and inability to inform their guests of the inconveniences they would cause is unacceptable. When I walk into the property and am surrounded with mounds of stereo equipment blocking the walkway from the beach to my room and pool without any prior notification, that causes red flags. When every guest was told the day of event the pool would be open, we wake to find they were lying. And when I tried to get a minute of sun in a chair I was told to leave by the bar next door's manager who was condescending in her tone and made me feel like she was better than me. How do I affect sitting in a chair for 1 hour when your event doesn't start for 7 hours and the event staff told me I was allowed to sit there and not in their way! The entire situation could have been avoided if there was communication and transparency. I wanted to revisit but the owner has a lack of concern for the guests and the lemon bar manager has no concern for anyone other than herself. read more

Well this place is interesting. The rooms are just as expensive as the nice hotel next door but dont live up to $650 for 2 night stay. Its a 1 star hotel (by my guess) so anywhere else the rooms might be $150. The walls are thin so you can hear everything from the bars. We chose the Seahorse as our staycation spot for our anniversary this year and we hit the jackpot. I admit, one of the reasons I was drawn to it is because I love old Florida and this place, on the outside, is just lovely and so 1950s. But the inside? Totally updated and modern with all the comforts one needs. Price was just right considering the time of year (end of tourist season, beginning of spring break). Finding it is easy. It is literally the last building on the right hand side of Atlantic Boulevard before you hit the lifeguard shack and the Atlantic Ocean itself. Parking is free, one car per room, but when you arrive, you must let the valet know so he'll free up a space for you. (Hotel spaces are kept reserved with cones and you'll receive a hang tag for your vehicle when you check in.) There are limited spaces against the hotel, the rest are in a lot next to it. Our room (one queen) was large and spacious. The bed was nice and comfy. A mini fridge, microwave and coffee pot were provided and there was an iron and ironing board in the closet. The bathroom was modern with excellent water pressure. Small tv with cable is provided. Nice little balcony with two chairs and a table. Bonus - ALL rooms face the pool and ocean since the hotel is curved like a crescent. I was a bit concerned about the Lemon Bar being on the property, it was very busy with a live performer and quite loud. But the sliding glass doors were double paned and the curtains were thick and heavy, so when both were drawn, the sound was almost completely eliminated. Key cards are used for your door and they are also used to access the pool area and the private beach access. That was very nice. There is public beach access through the dunes on either side of the hotel, but it was very nice to have a private boardwalk from the hotel to the beach. The pool was very clean. Lots of lounging area poolside. There was also a seating area with couches and tables in the garden area. People could get drinks from the Lemon Bar and sit in the garden. I thought that was very nice. There is a complimentary breakfast basket offered in the morning at the front desk, but we did not take advantage of that since we had made plans to dine out. One of the benefits of the Seahorse is it's location. Not only is it literally on the beach, but it is located next to the "Beaches Town Center," within easy strolling distance of many popular restaurants (adult and family friendly) and bars. All in all, we were very pleased and satisfied with our stay and highly recommend the Seahorse to others. read more

Ernie and I decided to take a mini vacation and stay a night on the beach. Our Theme for our trip is:Celebration of Life. We both are dealing with Cancer in one way or the other, but we are surviving. My surgery will be soon(2nd one this year for me). SeaHorse Office clerks:they were the best! Rebecca was my favorite because she was so kind and bubbly. We loved our room, the pool, the balcony and everything else. We had a great time. Seahorse Oceanfront Inn-was built a long time ago. So when their are very loud people staying in the rooms below you or beside-you can't hear a thing. There are very thick walls in between rooms. Breakfast in a basket:consists of orange juice, a danish and yogurt. You go down when the office opens(8am), and pick up your baskets. Cleaning staff was very kind and polite too. Balcony:I got stung or bit by a bug while on the balcony. They office provided a sting wipe for my foot. It worked well. Location location location is where it's at! The Lemon Bar is on the same property. The Beaches Town Center and ATM's are one block away. The beach is right out the front door. The Bar-B-que Stick shack is next to the parking lot, in the same block. We stayed in 221. 220 is the corner room, which we try to get next time. 221 & 222 have a connecting inside door. Overall, I can't find one thing to complain about, except maybe all of the thing bathing suits at the pool area. I really don't want to see all of that ass. Really? Freshly renovated and clean room with a beach gaveling balcony. We were able to watch the sunrise without even leaving our beds in the morning. Gorgeous property with beach access. Plenty of shops and places to eat within walking distance. Lovely little hotel. Our plans changed in the morning and we had to leave a day early and staff was super helpful. We were even refunded the difference when we were accidentally overcharged (we were given the wrong rate for the off-season, very honest staff) The room has all the basic necessities but is not great if you are planning on preparing your own meals there (no attached kitchenette) but we didn't mind, as there are plenty of places nearby. The Seahorse Inn has been in business at the beaches for years. It has been through various stages in its life. Used to be know as the hotel you could rent a room by the hour (if you know what I mean). In the past decade it has been lovingly restored and brought to its former glory. Because it is an older hotel the rooms aren't as large as one will find in the newer places but it also isn't as expensive. It is clean and accommodating with good mattresses and right on the ocean. The decor takes you right back to 1950 with the pink exterior and beachy theme. Sea shells and Sea horses all the way! The bathrooms are also clean which of course is a plus! It also has something the others don't. The Lemon Bar is one of the best bars at the beach! Good drinks, cold beer (but no bottles) and a great staff. The Lemon Bar stays open till midnight so no worries about the crowd keeping you up late. Not that they would anyway, it is all laid-back drinking around here. So make a reservation and join us oceanfront. You will be glad you did. read more

There are many glowing reviews about the Seahorse Hotel on the Beach in Neptune Beach. I will only say that truth is being said of this gem and a hidden secret. I do come from a Hotel background and when I see quality I need to comment on it. This oasis is so similar to a Caribbean resort 4 star hotel it amazes me. The quality of the room, view. service and overall experience was wonderful . Value is spectacular and you do not expect that in our little town. You could spend hundreds more to stay a few yards up the beach and yes get a great arrival experience in the lobby. I'm from the Jacksonville area, but my mom and brother came for a visit this past weekend and wanted to stay on the beach. This hotel was so cute and quaint and I loved how Lemon Bar was attached so you could lay by the pool and order food and drinks from the bar. Ah, the Seahorse. There are things to love and things to hate. Bullet points: Walking around in your bare feet on the carpet in the room will leave your feet BLACK. I doubt these carpets have ever been shampooed. It's appalling. The shower delivers a "standing under a weak hose" experience. Not so much a "shower" as one steady ribbon of water without much pressure behind it. No way to adjust the spray. Bathroom is so dank. You're unable to open the window in it and there's no fan. Really far from an ideal bathroom situation. Found at least 4 small, black beetles in the room at various points :/ Bed is reasonably comfy, if a bit soft. Awful, mismatched curtain/bedroom decor. There's no sheer curtain behind the blackout curtain, so you're either sitting with the curtains fully open or sitting in the relative dark during the day/daytime clothes changing etc. The view is superb. Sound proofing is impressive. Open the sliding glass door to the Lemon Bar and you car hear everything. Shut it and a party would be completely silenced. Proximity to the beach and the direct access walkway is awesome and why we stayed here, in the end. Air conditioner and overhead fan work well. The room was always cool. Nice to have a microwave and a fridge in the room, especially if you're staying awhile. Great, free parking for guests. Mediocre, but free continental breakfast (packaged muffin, tiny orange juice carton, free coffee, small fruit cup and a yogurt cup). Free wifi (can get slow at peak hours). Wish the steps up to the rooms required key access as the gate to the pool area does. It's a bit open, as-is. Awesome proximity to shops, coffee (Starbucks), necessities (Walgreens, KMart, Publix) and restaurants (Flying Iguana is superb). All in all, would I stay here again? Not if I could afford not to, but it's not the WORST place in the world if you ignore the carpet situation/always wear socks inside. Yuck! read more

Don't worry about the reviews below. The Seahorse Inn is getting a make over... At your expense. I stayed there for one night and was billed an extra $200.00 for cigarette burns in the carpet. Never mind that I have never smoked a cigarette in my life, and there was not any smoking in the room during my stay. When I asked for proof I was told I would be texted pictures (no not emailed). Of course these pictures never arrived. For the price you might end up paying you are better off at literally any other motel/hotel in Jacksonville. I wish I could say one positive thing about my experience with the Seahorse Inn. However this borderline theft has left me complete disgusted. read more

However, 2021 found an incredibly rude desk clerk who refused to give me contact info for a manager when I obviously had an issue with our interaction. Great classic beach hotel. Everyone that works there is so nice and friendly. The ladies at the front desk are very helpful. I forgot toothpaste and they had some for me for free! The Beaches Town Center area is filled with great restaurants and bars. Definitely the place to stay in the Neptune/Atlantic Beach area. The Lemon Bar in the courtyard has really good frozen drinks too. I can't wait to stay there again! read more

i checked into the hotel and found it to be.dirty, and run down. I found vicodon on the dresser and bugs in the bathroom. I immediately checked out and now the owners are refusing to give me my refund back even though i was there less than a few hours trying to find another hotel. I think this hotel is one that would classify as the hourly hotel that the pimps would rent for their girls turning tricks. I would never recommend this dump to anyone ever. read more

Location is perfect, breakfast is cute, everything else leaves a lot to be desired! We booked two rooms here ten months ago for our stay this weekend. We thought the property looked charming, and the location was perfect. When we arrived, the rooms were ok. Seemed relatively clean, though we found things in our room obviously left by the prior occupants. Microwave and refrigerator were really convenient to have. Biggest complaint is that the staff acted like they were doing you a favor letting you stay there!!!! Really lacking in the hospitality department, unfortunately, because I could have overlooked the age and condition of the rooms if the staff had been a little more friendly. read more

We came to the sea horse after being very disappointed at the beach on Jekyll Island in Georgia. We were pretty satisfied with the seahorse the room was clean loved that it face to the ocean. Every room does that. The downside to our visit, was it was the Fourth of July and they have a bar on location that is very popular that time of year. Thursday after the fourth it calmed down a lot it was more family oriented and quiet, so I would recommend if you're not into the bar scene as we are not, to pick a different week to go. Great location to some good restaurants cute little shops driving distance to anything you would want, would definitely go back not sure I would stay at the sea horse during a holiday though. Just stayed at Seahorse last weekend. The rooms are okay. They get five stars for atmosphere, beach access, and access to shops and restaurants. This hotel is in such a nice community that you feel very safe. This little hotel is happenin'...Laid back without the touristy feel. The Lemon Bar ( at the hotel) is fun and packed at night. Street noise did not keep us up and the air conditioning is cold. Highly recommend if you want to be in the middle of everything. They didn't have a room for our third night there, so we stayed at Hampton Inn. The rooms, pool, etc. are super nice but we wished we were back at Seahorse. read more
