I made my appointment via ZocDoc but realized, after I called the office that morning, that they do…read morenot honor appointments made through ZocDoc. It was frustrating because I took a day off from work in order to make it to my ZocDoc appointment. I ended up scheduling an appointment with a different doctor who luckily had an availability that day. My suggestion to the facility is to have one system of record for appointments. If it's ZocDoc, stick with ZocDoc. Otherwise, don't even make your doctors available for booking at ZocDoc. Someday, someone will show up at their ZocDoc appointment date/time and find out that they do not have an appointment. Another downside to this place is they do not have appointments outside of work hours and weekends. I came a few minutes ahead of my scheduled appointment time, checked in, and waited 45 minutes total in the waiting room. I heard another lady in the waiting room complain that she has been waiting for 45 minutes as well. Possibly leaving some buffer time in between adjacent appointments will alleviate the long wait times. The saving grace for this place are the front desk staff, nurses and doctor are sweet and nice. Another perk is they have wide selection of free coffees, teas and water for you to enjoy while you wait. Otherwise, this place has much room for improvement.

I had a bad year in 2018. Like two surgeries and an ER/hospital stay bad. Ended up with low…read morehemoglobin /ferritin levels to a point where the ER staff wasn't letting me go to the bathroom without using a wheelchair. Anyway, that's how I ended up at HHO and under the care of Dr. Patel. I was referred here by my (former) gynecologist(who was the reason I ended up so sick in the first place). I was skeptical after all that had happened and I didn't trust my gyno at all but geez... I'm so glad I was able to get treated at HHO. Yes, you only really see your primary doctor a few times for initial consult and check ins, but I expect that from any medical office. Dr. Patel is the nicest doctor I've ever had in my life. I wish he was a primary care physician because he is honestly the only doctor I've actually felt comfortable around and one of the only ones that I feel takes patients seriously. For example : today I went in for the first time since losing my job in November and two things occurred : 1. When Dr. Patel found out the was the reason I hadn't been in, he told me to always let him know those things because he wants to make sure that his patients get the care they need regardless. There was not a moment during that exchange where I questioned his sincerity. 2. After finding out my initial results came back okay, he asked a few follow up questions since I mentioned I was having the fatigue and brain fog issues I normally have with anemia. Because of some travel I'd done recently and being from the land of deer ticks (PA), he suggested getting tested for Lyme. This is HUGE. People... Doctors never take lyme disease seriously. If a doctor is suggesting to get tested and you don't have to convince them... You struck gold. He knows his stuff. I also LOVE, LOVE, LOVE the nurses here. I was getting weekly iron IV treatments for a few months and I got to know the nursing staff well. I love all of them-- every last one of them. I still need to bake them a cake for being amazing. When I lost my job, they were so sweet, helpful, and kind. And not to mention... I don't get my weight checked when I go because of my history with an eating disorder. One time someone had me do it and then announced my weight loudly, it shook me to the core and one of the nurses noticed and took care of the situation.. Next time I came in she was switching shifts but stopped to check in to make sure that my request for no weigh ins was respected and gosh... Just being remembered and cared about goes such a long way :) I know some of this review is long and rambling but I really love this office and the staff and it's hard to write about them without getting emotional. I highly, highly recommend them if you are looking for a hemotologist /oncologist.

I was beyond frustrated, desperate, and so depressed all I could do was cry the first time I met Dr. Iyengar. He patiently put me at ease by asking questions about my pain, my life, and my family being sincerely interested in me as an individual. I owe my life to Dr. Iyengar. He has guided me through extremely aggressive courses of Chemotherapy, 16 rounds of Radiation, a DVT, Sepsis -- twice -- along with a myriad of ailments throughout the years. Dr. Iyengar has always sought the best treatments available, as-well-as providers of those treatments. His delicate management of my pain medication has enabled me to have a much higher quality of life than otherwise possible. Unfortunately he has had to repeatedly fight with my insurance company to advocate my treatment which is beyond stressful and unhealthy in itself. An entire generation of baby boomers should not have to fight so hard to stay out of pain. Dedicated physicians should not have to spend countless hours defending their treatment plans to inferiorly educated insurance company employees who must follow rules designed to make money for their company -- not caring about the pain and anguish of the very people who pay hundreds of dollars a month for coverage.
