Some salads from the salad bar
    Tina C.

This place is a hidden gem! I was looking for byob places in Laval, and came across Nazareth, specializing in middle eastern food. The decor is simple and clean - dark wood tables, banquets against the walls, and photos and artwork on the walls. Many dishes come with the salad bar - which is awesome! This is not your typical salad bar - there was fattoush, tabbouleh (refreshing but a little salty), cucumber salad, possibly the best babaganoush I've ever had, pickled turnips, olives, tomato-based slaw, and more. Everything was great. We were brought piping hot fresh pitas (house-made!) and delicious and smooth hummous. Our waitress was pleasant and funny, and recommended the Nazareth chicken ($11), which she said was delicious. It was! Mildly sweet and incredibly juicy. At our table was also the shish taouk plate ($9.50), kafta plate ($11), and filet mignon brochette plate ($13). Everything was very good - the kafta was flavouful and packed with crispy pieces of onion and fresh parsley, and the filet was nicely cooked, though there was a little grizzle. There was a bit of confusion with the orders in terms of ordering half rice/potatoes and only receiving potatoes, but the rice was good so I didn't mind. The value/quantity/quality ratio is pretty hard to beat - I wish I knew about his place earlier!

The storefront keeps you expectations low. As you pull up nothing fancy or flashy. Walk-in same thing. Given that I waa pretty hungry the large menu of choices were a little overwhelming. I quickly asked the guy at the counter if there a plate of some sort that they offer with the spit fired chicken as the protein. He says yea no problem...rice, potatoes, salad...does that work for you? Simple enough. Paid for my food. Sat down. From the first bite I knew I was in for a treat. Supremely flavorful, fresh. NOTHING on the plate did not taste wonderful. My favs... The chicken was tender, seasoned delightful and paired with the sauce awesome. The rice was not hard as you find some when they are buffet style. Fluffy and tasty. The potatoes and salad were quite good as well. Not sure why, but Atlanta is missing exactly this type of restaurant. Reasonably priced, delicious ethnic food (although we have some pretty good Thai and Mexican spots) without a ton of fake fanfare and praise. The meal cost me $13 CAD and they do take Visa/Mastercard. Would definitely be back if I were staying in the area. And by the way...I still love Greek food but have found in traveling...Lebanese, Turkish and Palestinian food to be even more flavorful. Who would have thought.

Service: Not Applicable as I ordered delivery.. it did come on time! Thanks Uber The problem : 40$ .. i got one tiny little salad barely filled for 40$ like how is that possible !!!?? My wallet is crying ! Lol 2nd I ordered 5x cauliflower in the salad .. they obviously forgot to put some smh!! The beans were really off they weren't fresh whatsoever I had one bite and spit the whole thing out. Had to pick something else for lunch! This use to be such an amazing place to get a healthy option. Unfortunately, it went downhill or maybe it was a staff issue who knows !!!? My salads use to be like 25$ Maxxx... is it me or it's starting to look like a real money grab to stay healthy.. I don't think I'll be back here unfortunately not for 40$ for a small tiny salad ! Nope!

Plenty of fresh selections and the line runs pretty quickly. Seating is nice. Cons - I've eaten here twice and both times the salads were only "OK". First time I went with a Caesar's salad and the dressing was a bit sparse and more importantly, the vinaigrette just didn't do justice! Very weak. The 2nd time I went with a custom Asian salad and the lady who seemed to be having a bad day prepared my salad by simply bathed it with dressing to the point ALL I TASTED WAS DRESSING. - A big custom salad can set you back about $13-15. That's a hard sell if the salad isn't awesome. All in all, very average experience. I'll go back and try out something else and hope for the best.
