Ordered a beer and sat at the bar and had a private conversation about a bad friend (nothing crazy was said, other than, " ya that person sucks". The bartender came over and told us we were not aloud to speak the way we were and then asked us if we were offended by her opinion of our private conversation. We told her "ya! this is a bar at 1am and we're offended that we lost our freedom to privacy and basic speech". We then asked nicely for our bills to pay and then immediately left. Do not go to this fake, ridiculous bar any business. Zero Stars.

And being open 10am-2am, 7 days a week, you can almost always bank on their being open. My only complaint is the lack of wi-fi, which would make especially afternoon visits, during lunch or working out of the shop, that much more common. I do understand the owner's wish to keep it a social place and avoid some of the inadvertent (or deliberate) loitering that can happen when you offer that service.

I love the rustic modern look with the brick wall and interesting artwork. I also love their window art with plants and cactuses. The two girls working were very sweet and what I thought was helpful. I asked what was vegan and she told me "the soups I'd 100 percent vegan but the curry mango jackfruit was vegan but the bun was not." Which really confused me since on their board it said "feat. Vegan" so I asked her why it would be under featured vegan if the bun was not. She responded "don't even get me started, I keep telling them they shouldn't do that." So of course this really confused me and annoyed me. I ended up just ordering two soy chai lattes (one with coffee, the other without). The latte itself wasn't very flavourful, the barista told me to bring it back over if it wasn't sweet enough. I did that but still found it bland. Also it was quite watery versus other lattes I have had. When I left I wrote on the local vegan group on Facebook with my concerns. One man was really upset so he wrote Duo Cafe where they ensured that the buns were indeed vegan. So I guess my main thing now is, they need some training by the sounds of it. I can attest that the quality is quite good. There is also an array of beers, including craft beers, available in the back. The staff is very helpful and always ready to answer any question you might have. Be aware of the store hours. If you aren't sure, then call ahead to allow yourself plenty of time to get there before it closes. There is a well stocked store and restaurant in the same shopping area.
