The organization promises a connection to thousands of college coaches nationwide, the largest database of college coaches in one place (if I recall the sale pitch). What they didn't tell us, was that college coaches do not care if we send them emails through the platform. We went a step further to send out a letter to them, they emailed us back almost immediately thanking us for our interest in their institution, and noting they did not receive an email from us. The NCSA dashboard shows they opened our emails. It's okay, it just isn't worth the amount of money you'll pay. If you are considering the paid package, realize that the "coaching call" is actually a time-share like sales pitch. "Do you really want to play in college? If so, the paid version will get you there." We have a vast network of coaches, AAU, DIII, DII, DI, NAIA, NJCAA, etc and none of them care of we paid for the NCSA premium version or not. The business model makes a lot of sense, but it just doesn't deliver as promised. That's why it receives a 1-star from our household. If I were you, I would take to twitter to make connections, and upload highlight videos to YouTube - those actually get viewed and found, vs NCSA profiles (which do not rank in Google). read more

We just spoke with Steven from NCSASport.org. The meeting started 5 min later that the scheduled time, and its purpose was to get my kids´profile activated. Everything went well, and it seemed as a good platform to showcase. However, when Steven reached the membership plans, he immediately changed his attitude to an aggresive one... we felt obligated to make a decision on the membership plan and punch our credit card information in right away! Amazing how these sales guys can screw up a very nice meeting... even my kid said: I did not like that guy, he was very aggressive trying to get us to make a payment!"... and "Dad, you were amazing at deconstructing his sales strategy" end of the story... Please be aware that A. You only have 3 days to cancel! So make sure you are confident in your choice by then! And B. I spoke with an actual college coach and was informed the emails from this company, going out by your athletes to coaches, are often seen as spam and he never once brought on an athlete that used NCSA in his 20 years. I can't speak for the company itself, but the recruiting call was an extremely pushy experience and when we told him we wanted 24 hours to think it over and to please give us his number to call him the next day, he insisted we waited long enough and not to wait any longer, etc. He wouldn't respect our need to think about it first and ended up dropping the price to get the sale. My daughter and I had our Client Recruiting call today with Chris Allen and he was phenomenal. He answered ALL of my questions. He was encouraging. He was knowledgeable and was super understanding to my needs from a financial standpoint and as a parent. I signed up for the program and I am looking forward to what NCSA can do for my daughter who loves Track & Field and is really good. We are all super excited for the future. Picked schools and states she wanted to go to. We asked our coach to reach out these teams and universities and nothing. She received D3 offers in states that she had no interest in going to nor that she picked. We requested a refund cause we did not get any help and all D3 collages can only offer academic scholarship so no need to pay them to have you recruited to those divisions. They always seem to have an excuse on why you're not getting coaches nor why they cannot give you a refund. They cost me three years of receiving junk mail. We purchased a $1099 package from NCSA, and it was a big mistake. My daughter is one of the top lacrosse players in her high school, but not good enough really to be recruited for the Ivy League Division I schools she was aiming for. She profile was seen by several very small Division III schools who reached out to her. If your child is a strong enough athlete in whatever sport he/she plays, then just reach out directly to the coaches of the colleges he/she is interested in. There is no need to waste the money on buying a package from NCSA, to have a nice profile page for coaches to potential look at. We tried to get a refund, but was denied. So, buyer beware! read more

Hopefully you're reading this before you sign up for their membership! If not, it's too late and they will get more money out of you, even if you decide that you do not want their services. So you have three days to cancel after you sign up for a membership, which they do not tell you while sighing up but it's in the contract!!!!! I want nothing to do with this company but I'll still be paying them a monthly fee until the balance is paid in full. Definitely not a company that I would recommend. I specifically ask could I pay by the month just incase I didn't like it I would cancel. His response was yes you can. What he didn't tell me was I had to pay the rest of the balance. They really do not care about your athlete AT ALL but they do care about getting your money. I was told we could upload videos, they would edit them, wrong again. I have to pin point the specific time in the video and send it to them. All they do is post that time frame. These people are untrustworthy and should be shut down. If I could give it zero stars I would. We purchased their top program and at first they were very in to my daughters potential career as a college athlete. My daughter received college basketball offers and they were absolutely not because of them. The only thing they did was put together a highlight film that ended up being garbage. Save your money and take your kids to show cases. My daughter has chose her school and has started her career without zero help from NCSA and I still pay them. I repeat, don't use them. They will make you think it's great but will do nothing for you. I'm editing because I couldn't reply. Their comment to my review says it all. That's neat how they put an ad in my review. I will "ad" that they are EXCELLENT at SALES. You will be sucked in due to your ignorance about the college recruiting process. They will exploit your lack of knowledge and you will pay for your ignorance. It's ok to be ignorant, that means you just don't know something. Great resource website. but Most D1 and lower baseball coaches have NEVER heard of NCSA. The schools "volunteer coaches" use NCSA to pump their events/camps. Just another way to get money grab from parents. Skip the online recruitment hype, get out there, play hard, hustle, and train. It will pay off. When the coaches visit good tournaments during open recruitment sessions per the NCAA rules, you have to hustle, not walk ever during the games they attend. Let me preface this by saying I have not paid for the service. However, I have to question their integrity based on what I was told. After filling out a free profile for my kid, I started getting calls to sell me the membership. We didn't get to pricing but I knew, 5 minutes into the pitch, that he was lying to me because he specifically told me her free profile was getting interest from colleges that I know had never seen her play in person. They had never attended our tournaments or showcases and she plays for a smaller sized club. Furthermore, she was a sophomore, so they would not have been allowed to contact her anyway. At that point I knew I was being lied to. I mean, look at all these awful reviews! And this guy Joseph P going to each review, babbling the same garbage and trying to do damage control. Here is a revised review I completed today when asked if I would rate the likelyhood of me recommending this service to someone else. Now I see I should have red these reviews. I added this review to the email and then posted it here. Big Money Grab! Buyer beware! The primary reason I am giving this review a 1 out of 10 is due to types of schools showing interest in my kid, misleading information, a lack of communication with parents who pay the bill and the continued money grabs being presented to her as a 16/17 year old. Colleges across the nation are looking for good academically sound prospects. Athletes shouldn't have to pay her way into schools to play ball. Schools that aren't financially competitive with an in state university such as CU or CSU use this service. The schools showing some interest all appear to be private out of state schools that are not offering any financial incentives or commitments to play. These schools cost as much as Colorado University in Boulder or more. There are many in state schools in Colorado that are cheaper, even yet, she doesn't have an offer nor has she been invited to a sight visit. When we signed up I feel like our recruiting coach who "sold" the package was misleading and that this was going to get our kid an offer to play at a school we could actually afford especially if no scholarships were offered. She has yet to even get a school to commit to her or offer her a single sight visit. Yet some have even gone so far as to ask her to spend more money by joining Team USA and play in Spain at a cost of $4000 plus! There are additional money grabs to attend camps too, only like two in our state which also come at a cost. The communication with coaches happens between our kid and the coaches but they don't seem to include the parents and there is nobody reaching out to us either. When I reply to one of their Emails from the coaches nobody responds. As parent educators there are no other players that we know of that have signed up for a service like this. We feel duped and would not recommend this to anyone we work with or that our kid plays with. We are disappointed at this big money grad thus far. Beware of NCSA and ALL the fine print. Your athlete must suffer a "career ending injury" to qualify for any refund. So if your child suffers and mental or physical issue that will prevent them from participating in college athletics you will be out a significant sum of money. I suggest you video and attend college showcases and camps on your own!! You never know what can happen in the 2-3 years you are preparing your high school age child to play college sports. read more

My son sighed up with NCSA as a suggestion from a coach, we knew going in that there would be a cost for it to be useful. Once we got his profile set up it was nice to see the system work. Many of the schools we had talked about showed high on the NCSA lists. First off, I made an account on yelp just to point out how bs this company is. They prey on inexperienced parents who want the best for their children while ruthlessly taking their money and promising a false reality. I was pressured by the salesman who made pretty much bogus claims, including going to an Ivy League school himself and riding on scholarships from multiple sports, getting his son into an Ivy with scholarships as well, even working for Apple for 12 years, etc. Ended up paying them $1700 and there is no way to get my money back even though it has been only 1 day and the salesman said there was a "lenient" 3-day cancellation policy that would extend to after Christmas. Talked to a couple of coaches in person who told me that there are many other effective ways for recruiting. I wished I would have done that before answering their spam calls. I will probably end up having to dispute this through my bank because this irresponsible company won't honor their 3-day cancellation policy even though it has been 1 day since I paid for this scam service. Please note that my review is based on my daughter's initial profile sign up and our assessment call last month, we did not sign up with NCSA. Thanks for all of you who took time to write your reviews on here (roughly 90% negative). From what I've read and researched online (over a few hours) I see that many people have felt taking advantage of and unknowingly could not cancel their membership, etc. Very helpful to our family in order to make our decision. If a company stood by their services, why would they not offer month to month pricing. 'Lifetime' membership is all they offer (up to $4k for most expense the so-called MVP tier) and apparently only 3 days to cancel which they didn't mention on the call mind you, I learned that from all of the negative reviews. What?! Not good business practice in my opinion. Anyhow, so let me backtrack a few weeks, my daughter completed a free profile online on the NCSA website and we were contacted immediately (within an hour or two) by NCSA via text and email to schedule an assessment which we went through a call a few days later with a slick recruiter/salesman (a former college coach and player he says but who knows). He mentioned how my daughter meets all the qualifications, etc... now she just needs exposure to colleges that NCSA can provide and that we should have signed up years ago...lol Additionally, there are many BBB complaints you can find online too, when I searched NCSA BBB complaints, same issues about the pricing, their services, and inability to cancel among other things. Many folks felt scammed and taking advantage of. We are talking a lot of people here, not just a few. With all of this info from our research, the reviews, etc., it provided my family more than enough warning to make our decision. No thanks NCSA. We have since deleted her free profile and we will not bother using the NCSA platform or their services if we have to lock in for thousands of dollars. I feel good about this decision and feel bad for others who feel that they were cheated/scammed and spent a lot of money for nothing. The only reason this is one star is because I had to put a star! This was the worst experience ever!!! The recruiters are VERY rude! The moment you ask more questions for clarity, they get upset. I had to request a supervisor because the agent was very rude! When you disagree or want different options, they immediately say "Oh, so your son doesn't want to play in college, we will let all the recruiters know". Like is that a threat? When I called the recruiter out on his threat, he apologized because I said that I would contact the BBB and report him and forward them the text message that he sent me, and he begged me not to! They act as if this is the only way to get recruited. News flash, my son received several D1 offers without this service! Like most reviews of NCSA, my criticism isn't with the website itself as much as the sales process. We were told we were to meet with a "recruitment specialist" for an "assessment" before they could activate our daughter's free profile. The call we had was with a sales person, not a recruitment specialist. The assessment was to see how much money we'd be comfortable spending to give our daughter more visibility via their site and services. NCSA missed an opportunity to offer helpful, consultative advice to our daughter in a manner that was not condescending or high pressure. Some questions were repetitive of questions I had already answered on the initial "discovery" call. It felt like the sales person was reading off a script or outline, trying to elicit answers that would make it easier to sell their solution. They shouldn't tell my 8th grade daughter she is failing because she's not yet receiving Christmas cards from college coaches. They were quick to tell us they're the "king of kings" in their market. I would have rather seen relevant and factual stats about market share or the percent of athletes who commit to D1, D2, D3, etc. in comparison with those who use competing sites. They even placed their high-priced MVP package in our shopping cart without our consent. Instead, they should have used the opportunity to educate our daughter on best practices for successful outcomes with recruiters and coaches (suggestions other than, "you need our service"). I don't blame the person we spoke with, I blame the training/directive they received and their management's desire to pressure a quick sale. read more

NCSA Lacrosse is a big scam. They call you up and email you and your 16 year old kid telling you how great your kids future is and they want to set up a call. You get on a call with your teenage son and they proceed to feed you absolute BS how they can get your child a scholarship. They did a 40 minute pitch and I asked if they ever saw my child play in which he responded no. Give me a break. Then they hit u with the price plans. Thank god my son has brains on his head cause he knew he was getting bull crap thrown at him. If my son was more vulnerable it could really mess with a teenagers mind. This organization should be ashamed at what they are doing. By the way, if your child has a shot of getting a scholarship just talk to your coach if the coach has not already reached out to you from your own school and ask them for introductions or advice. Had our assessment last night after having it rescheduled on us with no explanation or reasoning. Instant red flags went up from the lady doing our assessment. I wish I remembered her name. She started off the call asking some general questions about our son who has an interest in playing college baseball. Based on his name, GPA, and what his mom and I told her about our son she exclaimed "He is absolutely a D1 level player and D1 coaches will be fighting over him." Mind you, he has not played an out of high school ball, he has no videos up yet of him playing, and she doesn't know him from the next kid. It only got worse from there. She continued to pump compliments and promises on our son about his dream of playing D1 baseball. It felt very forced, and her enthusiasm was way over the top. Also keep in mind, I was told at the beginning of this process that this was free and that there like anything else are optional add-ons for a cost which I expected. Our assessment lady then gets to the financial part and the used car salesman approach really kicked in. She broke down the prices and what they offered and then paused and asked which package we'd like to go with. We were not prepared to make a move financially at that exact moment. So, she says "go ahead and mute your phone and discuss which option you'd like to pay for today and then bring me back on." This is in front of our son! I felt this was extremely unprofessional. We're supposed to have a discussion about our finances spur of the moment in front of our son who has had his hopes built up by this lady? My wife and I were instantly angry and brought her back on the call and explained our situation that we were unable to make a move financially at this exact moment. She then doubled down and asked if my son qualifies for reduced or free lunches! I thought was extremely insulting. She then goes on to enter a code that reduced the cost of the packages some and asks again what package we would like to move on with? Again, we expressed that we are not ready to make a move financially as we have some home repairs that we are in the middle of. At this point she promptly says that she will send an email with details and will be in touch and ends the call abruptly. I found it extremely funny that as soon as we took a stance on the fact, we weren't making a financial move right then and there she wrapped the call and ended it. A call we were told would take at least 45 minutes was wrapped in 20-25 minutes because we balked at paying anything at that moment. I then went on to read reviews on the internet and many have had this experience. And many have said they did just fine without them and had their child recruited with no problem. There were even some that were told by college coaches that they don't use recruiting services and delete their emails when they see them. I'm not saying this is a scam because I'm sure if you're willing to throw $6000 at them for their highest package they'll do some work for you. But if you have to think about it financially as most people would, they quickly don't have time for you. I am extremely disappointed in this. Then we had to sit my son down and explain to him what had just happened and explain to him how what she did was extremely unprofessional and wrong. At the end of "walking your kid though the website" you are given the option to pay for one of three packages. I reluctantly committed.. as the sales man patiently waits on hold while my child and I "discussed" his options. it hasn't even been a month and there has been no benefit Coach C (the coach assigned to my WR) ended up leaving the company and it took close to two weeks for a new "coach" to be assigned. By this time (meaning today) i had unexpected financial situation arise. I called to cancel the membership, the "financial aid rep" repeatedly told me I am stuck to the agreement. Despite what I am going through. I explained to this woman MULTIPLE times I need to cancel the membership and it has NOT even been a month. She said my Options were to put my account on "hold" meaning I'd still make a payment (minimum 40 a month) for 3 months and if I needed more time I would have to call back and do the same process Over again. THIS WAS ONLY AN OPTION IF I WAS ABLE TO PROVIDE PROOF OF MY HARDSHIP!!! OR I could cancel for close to 700 dollars. I'm not rich.. I am not paying 700 for a month of a service he did not use nor did he (my child) benefit from. The rep made it seem like she was doing me a favor and I was stuck. But would throw me a bone by allowing me to pay that almost 700 cancellation fee over the course of 10 months as an "exception" to me. I'm disputing any further charges with my bank, another Yelper suggested looking them up on BBB WHICH I DID and the first thing that pops up "avoiding college recruiting scams" which is exactly what I feel this is. This is a sale pitch and opportunity to capitalized on kid's dreams of becoming a college athlete. I scheduled a call with my high school son has a baseball player with one of NCSA's recruiting specialists. The day before the call I decided to do some research and see what kind of reviews they have. The first review site I checked out was this one in my jaw almost hit the floor! They have over 101 star reviews. I was about to cancel our call and I decided to do additional research. I'm glad I did. I went to trust pilot and they have a 4.7 star rating with almost 3000 reviews. I went and checked Google reviews and they have a 4.9 rating with well over 2000 reviews. They have a A+ rating with the Better Business Bureau. I then talk to someone and found out that they meet with about 600 families every night and enroll about 6000 every month. I didn't realized that 100 negative reviews on yelp really doesn't mean that much lol. I'm glad I did additional research and not just reacted to what I saw on here. Yes there was a sales pitch but the information I got on the call was very valuable and I enrolled my son in the middle program which we are very happy with. I would agree with some of the other reviews you will get out of it what you put into it. It is not a magic bullet that will do everything by itself. Even with him helping you still have to put in some work on your end. if getting your son or daughter, a college scholarship is your ultimate goal then I would think that you would be willing to put in the work to make sure they have the greatest chance of success. read more

I think this service would be worth it for those Athletes that are looking for D2-D3 opportunities. It did very little if anything to help my son to secure a spot with a D1 institution. It does put the information in one place as well as allowed access to Coach information. Beyond that, I would not call it a scam but I would say it did very little to help us achieve the end goal... and the e mail notifications do become very annoying when you put in your preferences and the inquiries come in regardless of whether they fit your profile. So far so good - had intro call with Randi she was awesome. We plan to sign our kiddo up for the service. I see a lot of complaints and low ratings from some clientele, but they appear to be disgruntled about not getting D1 and D2 recruiting and placement but typically a D1 athlete is sought after and recruited in Jr High. This service is to guide and assist finding the right college match for your child and where they can be playing a sport in college. .. and you get out what you put in. We'll be thrilled to get our kiddo playing a sport in college, and using this to motivate him was a big plus. We are fully aware this organization/company is providing a service that we need to pay for. In short, using NCSA was a complete waste of money. We spent over $3,000 for a database of schools, coach contacts, and basic school information that can be obtained through the school's website. My daughter, who is currently a senior in high school, has had 4 different recruiters since joining, and each are more disconnected and unhelpful as the last. Their website and app run very slow, and aren't very user friendly, especially when emailing coaches. My daughter has put in hundreds of hours emailing, texting, and calling coaches with no help from her recruiter. It's a ton of work on the parents and kids, be prepared to do everything on your own! They set up a call with my son.my wife, and myself For 8 pm this evening. We were supposed to chat with Gus Reinitz. Waited till 8:15, no call. He finally texted me and said he'd be 10-15 minutes. Signed my son up with the program , the lowest one with a cost of $85 a month for a year,originally seemed like a good idea however after awhile I felt like we were scammed out of our money. I then contacted them after 4 months and said I would like to cancel my membership, they said since I was cancelling early I would have to pay a cancellation fee equal to 3 months of membership. I was obviously upset after all we had given them $340 US for basically nothing, I said look you guys got $340 out of me it was my own fault for falling for it , just let me out , again they said sorry you signed up for a membership and have to pay a cancellation fee to get out. So what was i to do but pay it just to be free of them. This company is like the time share people , very very helpful and positive to get you in and then once your in they dont care about you or you situation. Do not create an account with these annoying time-wasters. You will get email after email, even after you unsubscribe multiple times. Read through the rest of the reviews... they are all the same. So they have an updated list of all colleges, coaches, etc. Big deal... so does google. If your athlete is good enough, they'll get recruited with a little bit of time on your part. I have friends who coach college sports and have talked to countless next-level coaches. None... NONE of them like dealing with companies like this and none of them see value in having someone who is paid tell them about an athlete. The NCSA does not have a relationship with your athlete, hence what is their motivation to find them a school/scholarship? Oh that's right... money. But after they get their money, now what's their motivation? read more
