I decided to hire him to install my kitchen for my full home remodel. I have zero regrets choosing him for the job. He did an excellent job and he did it right. I really liked his quality of work and his work ethic. I decided to ask him for a couple more estimates for other jobs that still need to be completed. I hired him for those jobs also. Sean's work is top notch at a fair price. Sean knows what he is doing without question. He's honest and has a great deal of pride in his work.... and it shows. He fully honored his contracts and didn't skip on completing any of the work I hired him to do. When he was done for the day he made sure he, and his assistant Zack, cleaned up before they left for the day. I've had several contractors in my house since this project started. There's only two that I would highly recommend. Sean is one of them. The other contractor was the electrician. I still have more work that needs to be done in the future. I needed a concrete base for a shed which I STOPPED, because they did not dig and put a frame without sides (!!) maybe they were hoped to pray for the concrete to stay in place. When they call me to see what they were doing, the concrete company was in my backyard and they were explaining to him (Mr. Ivan Chen) how to do. He clearly didn't do it , as he still did not dig at least below freeze line, also he put a thin plywood which is not even on ground level (the concrete would pass through and break with the weight), also no stability around. After that he wanted to removed all and still wanted me to pay for materials and labor!! He did not answer BBB complaint, I have the case closed and opened also with consumers affairs. I'm willing to pay for the hours he worked at my home( I have video with the time spend) and the material he sent me the cost. But he wants this and takes it all back. In the photos it can be seeing what he prepared without any sides just a frame. The job entailed ripping down old paneling to the studs in our family room and replacing it with drywall sheets (including taping, spackling, sanding, corner bead and painting). They also covered the top-half of a full-brick feature wall (original wall was way too dark and overwhelming), built us a new wood mantel (w stain and polyurethane), that fit over the brick mantel. Lastly, they installed new pull-down stairs that enabled us to access and use our garage attic. This included new decking in the attic. Dan and his crew communicated with me on everything, answered all my questions, and were genuinely nice and honest guys. They were the utmost professionals, practiced all Covid-19 protocols, were neat, and cleaned up. And most important - did quality work at a fair and reasonable price. Hemlly Home Improvement gave us a new, much more comfortable family room, one we love to hang out in and can truly be proud of. Nevertheless, after the installation, we bought some items to their attention regarding the shower doors automatically sliding to one side, handle installed incorrectly (when pointing to hot water you get cold), and most of all, water coming out from under the shower doors onto the floor. Because the doors were fixed from sliding by leveling at the top, more water come out from under the glass shower doors due a larger gap created by leveling at the top. I wanted to get some vinyl installed in my…read moreenclosed porch (a small project) and to discuss some repair options for in my living room and kitchen. Maurice came out very promptly after I contacted him and he straight-up told me that a patch-job wouldn't work inside my house. He explained the list of mistakes that were made during the original installation, which occurred before we moved in. He pointed out that not only did the builders choose the cheapest material possible, but they did not prepare the sub-floor adequately and now my flooring is cracking, disconnecting, and the surface is bumpy/rolling. Maurice gave me quotes for the porch project and to redo all of my main-level flooring. Both quotes were completely reasonable, but my husband and I opted to deal with the main floor issue when it's time for us to sell this house and move out. For now we just bought a super-large area rug! I did retain Maurice for the porch project, and since it was so small he was able to send Dale over on a day when someone else had cancelled. Dale arrived right when Maurice said he would, and the project took 3.5 hours total. I am impressed with the finished project and very pleased with Maurice's consistent communication and honesty. Anyone who's been through this kind of thing before knows that some folks just disappear (like someone who never followed-through and sent me the quote they promised) or others just tell you what you want to hear (like the guy who said he COULD patch my living room floor). When the time comes to replace our main floors, I would not hesitate to use Maurice again. He's a small-business owner, a man of color, and a veteran. We should make efforts to support these types of laborers, especially when they have great business practices! :)
