I decided to hire him to install my kitchen for my full home remodel. I have zero regrets choosing him for the job. He did an excellent job and he did it right. Sean's work is top notch at a fair price. Sean knows what he is doing without question. He's honest and has a great deal of pride in his work.... and it shows. Money was exchanged for services and this is a review of my experience with those services. I support FDS Construction as a family owned business. I believe they do good work. I understand the challenges small business owners face with managing projects and we do the best we can. However, as the consumer, when the dust cleared and the work was done, in my opinion, there were gaping holes in quality and service. Unfortunately it felt like the next project took precedence over wrapping up my renovation project. There were unfinished projects that were promised to be rectified, but never were. The worst offense was that a a pre existing gaping space between the basement wall and the great outdoors was not filled in. I ended up going to Ace Hardware to buy foam filler and do it myself. Overall, I was left unsatisfied and really disappointed. The project started out great and lost steam. I thought it was a pretty straightforward basement renovation, so I'm not sure what the issues were. In hindsight, I should've held the final payment until all the "little fixes" were completed. In my industry, it's all in the details, and I expect the same from anyone I work with, especially in the construction. I'm not sure what I could've done differently other than parked myself downstairs all day to keep my eye on the work, which is exactly the opposite what I wanted in hiring a contractor in the first place. In terms of the staff and crew, they were really nice. Timely and super pleasant. Again this is a business and services review, not vengeance or any sort of malice (you know how folks be on Yelp). I pray it isn't seen this way and I pray this is helpful.

I was then asked to come into the office/showroom. I told them I wasn't going to waste my time if the price was too much. I was then given a broad price range and told I'd have a more detailed and exact price the next day after it was completed. I never received that price and that was over a week ago. If they're not very reliable during the estimate and trying to earn your business phase, they most likely won't be during the actual remodel.

We have no hvac getting to the upstairs bedroom the hvac was never completed the contractor they used never responded to them and we have no air getting upstairs after the incomplete remodel. My cabinets are not aligned and failing they will not return to complete the job and or warrant the work. The cabinets had a warranty and no one returns my calls or emails. All i want is the what i paid for is quality of workmanship work completed as promised and a warranty being upheld. The century 21 cabinets are not working properly and will continue to get worse if not addressed as the job was incomplete. They left and never returned. They sub out the hvac and that became my problem due to three holidays in between our remodel. Days off , terrible weather and lack of finding good workers and availability of them. Unforseen issues that came about during the remodel that i was told was difficult to find good help from the owner and to be patient. As i was. I could question nothing. Then i got told otherwise due to time passed that was out of my control due to communication and knowledge issues with their workers that was not my issue as well that i am paying for now with the incomplete remodel which is not alot to ask. My cabinets need adjustments. Before they fail totally. The cabinet company doesn't respond neither it all goes thru them. There is no airflow since the remodel in the ducts they moved. Which again became an issue that now is my problem as i paid them in full and they never returned. This is heartbreaking and stressful. My ac bill is super high and inaccurate as they fail to return. They fail to follow thru with any warranty. They failed to complete the work and fix what they did that is failing and or improperly incomplete.

We started out with a few small items and with the quality of work he was producing - we added on. After meeting Steve, there was an authenticity about him that none of the other contractors possessed. Every question that we asked him, he was up front, honest and listened intently to our wants and needs. After receiving many quotes, unfortunately then, we knew we had to save up before we could afford to have our kitchen done. Fast forward to the end of 2019 and we were ready to take the plunge! We knew that Steve was our guy. We gave him a call, he came back out several times to take measurements, design, etc. We had a start date of March 2020. Surprise... COVID! Everything was in limbo and we decided it was best to wait. Finally come August 3rd, 2020 Steve and his helper started demo work. Our final completion date was mid October. During construction time, I had two other friends getting their kitchens done as well. The horror stories they told me of their contractors being late, not being honest, charging more than what the contract stated, etc. had my husband and I feel like we hit the jackpot finding Steve. Many contractors now a days sub everything out and don't lift a finger. Not this guy! He is there every day, doing the work, and is passionate about his craft. He is meticulous and will not cut corners, leaving you a project that you are proud of. Steve is arguably the hardest working human my husband and I have ever met. When you hire Steve, you don't just get a contractor, you get a friend...that turns into family. My husband, my two children and I fell in love with Steve. He brought us joy daily during the two months he was with us and has become part of our extended family. We miss seeing him frequently, but now get to enjoy the work he did on our home daily. All of our friends and family that have walked into our home think we hired a high end contractor and designer for our project. We hired an expert handyman - the name says it all.
