If you are looking for a native plant nursery I can not recommend Nearly Native enough! The owners are very kind and their expertise speaks for itself. The selection is phenomenal! Calling it a botanical garden is not a stretch in the least, it is entirely possible to walk around and enjoy the variety of plants for hours. Not to mention the plethora of butterfly and bird species that call the nursery home! I came with a specific project in mind and one of the owners, Jim, was able to give me great advice on ways to go about it. I also asked for plant recommendations and, without skipping a beat, he was able to give me examples of three different plants I could use and the roles they could play in my project. On top of the quality customer service, the prices are also perfectly reasonable, and the cherry on top was the owners' blue-and-yellow macaw (pictured), who was very polite and said hello to me! OMG, I found yet another destination for my pay check! Lol. Nearly Native Nursery is a fantastic place to find plants native to Georgia and the Piedmont Region. Located in a single family residential home setting next to the highway, with garden paths throughout, you can find just about any plant native to Georgia that you are looking for in just about any size. A lot of the cultivation is done on site, so don't expect to find necessarily every plant in the size that are you're looking for. The owners, Jim and Deb Rodgers, are awesome at answering questions and helping you find what you're looking for. Very friendly folks! I can definitely see where more of my paycheck is going to go! I was ecstatic to find Nearly Native Nursery when I was hunting native plants to but into a garden on public land. Then I could hardly tear myself away from their display gardens and pots of ground covers, bulbs, flowers, shrubs, and trees. t They have at least three kinds of native dogwood, and an extensive bunch of native plants. I'm scheming on how to get to enjoy more of their plants, and I don't even have a permanent home or personal garden. The owners are also extremely knowledgeable about native plants and which ones will look and grow well together for a carefree yard while giving a banquet to our native bees and butterflies. Not near Fayetteville, GA? They ship. I saw a package addressed to Chanticlear Garden in Pennsylvania, so they much have a good national reputation. They might also have that rare plant you haven't het been able to find at a nursery. read more

I have shopped too long in the wrong places, this place is awesome! We were being registered with the National Wildlife Association for yards that attract pollinators but we still needed some native plants to attract butterflies. Even though we had flowers and butterfly bushes we still felt we needed native plants the butterflies would lay their eggs on and have noms for nutrition once they hatched. The owner for so helpful and we walked away with 3 different plants to attract not only Swallowtails but Monarchs as well. The nursery is like a wonderful back yard garden and we were treated to a tour where we even saw Monarch caterpillars. This is just a wonderful place with lots of natural and native plants and shrubs, not a mass production of root bound annuals. I can't wait to our next trip over. read more

Jim, the owner, was so helpful, from the moment I got lost trying to find McBride Road using navigation and Google Maps, Jim stayed on the phone with me giving me directions until I pulled into their driveway.. (make sure to use "Mc Bride", with a space if you use Google Maps). I arrived 15 minutes to their closing time of 6pm, but Jim stayed with me until 8pm, showing me around the entire place, teaching me everything he could about plants. You won't get that type of customer service anywhere nowdays. He definitely knows his stuff and I would recommend Nearly Native Nursery to everyone. read more
