My employer had changed our insurance provider so after I went for my yearly physical, I received an out of network bill. My yearly physicals have always been 100 percent covered, so this was unexpected. I was very disappointed that no one in the office informed me that my new insurance would now be out of network when I made my appointment or when I checked in. If I would have known, I would have chosen a different providers office. I also work in healthcare and our office ALWAYS checks patient insurance at the time the appointment is made so there are no surprises. The office manager at Family Health and Wellness was not willing to work with me on my charge unless I was a cash patient at the time of check in and I am told I must pay the full amount. Needless to say, I will not be returning to this office again! Poor patient customer service.

I have been trying to find out why it is taking an entire week to read an MRI, so I called AMI and explained my situation. I had been weeping continuously all morning from the pain and I was at my wits end. I still am. The first woman I spoke to was kind and caring and she gave me hope. But then I spoke to her supervisor who was more interested in blame-shifting than showing even a crumb of understanding or empathy or offering to help in any way. It was really sad to see. The US healthcare system is a devastating landmine field of red tape bureaucracy made possible by a lot of people who don't seem to care about anyone other than themselves. I fear we are doomed medically speaking here in the US at this point.

It is now 1 hour and 15 minutes past my scheduled appointment time. As I sat looking around the room I noticed a small framed quote, after reading it I removed it from the wall, placed it on the exam table where I had been sitting and left. Easy to set up an appointment, and when we arrive, they get to us within about 10 minutes. The doctor spend as much time as necessary to talk with us, assess the situation, and just reassure us if needed. They don't order unnecessary tests, but they send us to specialists when it's clear we need one. They have certainly save my life on a couple of occasions. Cannot recommend them highly enough.

Speaking to an actual human being about specific concerns pre-appointment is almost impossible. I eventually finished the whole process. Took over an hour. I have had great care with NE Ortho, but the whole process of making an appointment makes me think about going to a different office.

I had double knee replacements three years ago 6 months apart. Released with no restrictions. I…read morekept returning with gait, pain, and lameness concerns. No further diagnostic testing done except X-rays. Dr. finally recommended he numb the major nerves in both knees, recommended for patients who were "unhappy with their replacements." Wishing one final second opinion outside Lincoln went to Dr. Kevin Garvin at UNMC who ordered additional xrays and a nuclear bone scan. The scan revealed aseptic loosening in both replacements, with the last knee replaced already showing signs of rotating. I have undergone two total knee revisions since his finding, replacing the discs with ones with spikes attached that descend into the tibia. The revisions take longer to heal and are more painful. Please seek a second opinion if you aren't progressing but failing and someone is recommending you deaden the nerves running through your knees.

To get there, you have to drive around the Amigos Mexican restaurant parking to get to a very narrow parking area. On the back of the building is HOME realty. It will be fun when there is snow piled everywhere. My PCP transferred to this facility after several years of being affiliated with another health system at a different location. I'm seriously questioning who selected this location and did the physical layout. The exam room, at least the one I'm was in was 10x10 feet with sliding doors. Furniture looks like an IKEA tiny house design. Don't get me wrong. I have nothing bad to say about my PCP or His PA. It's the building/facility that is my issue. I'll give it a couple of visits before I decide to jump ship and switch doctors.

The receptionist is as far away as many other doctors office I have been to so I don't think there is a HIPPA concern. The actual patient rooms are great. There's really nothing wrong with their physical location other than it's hard to find the first time you go. As Keith in the previous review stated, it's behind amigos and a reality office and doesn't immediately stand out. Parking is fine for the small location though. I've never had issues finding parking for my visits. The reason to go to Northpoint Family medicine doesn't really have anything to do with the setting though. This clinic is operated by Byran and is a great boon for our community. The doctors I've seen there are honest, caring, and go above and beyond the call of duty. Gab in particular is amazing. The staff is accommodating, professional, and pleasant. This is in great contrast to the last place my PCP was at (Autumn Ridge ran by CHI) which seem micromanage the doctor-patient relationships to increase profitability. I am appreciative of this new location most because it is away from the previous management which made life difficult for both the doctors and the people they serve. 5 stars! 100% would recommend family to see them.
