This place has got a great variety, amazing staff, and decent sale prices. Definitely some of the best.

This location has always been friendly and happy to answer questions. We actually came here after trying to purchase some flower and an edible from the Hall location, believing that their math was incorrect and they were overcharging us. We decided to make the trip to the Barbur location and paid $55 for the same order, just as we expected, and less than what Hall tried to charge us. We live right by the Hall location but will continue to make the trip to Barbur to avoid the rude employees and overcharging at Hall. Another thing we appreciate is that at Barbur, they forgot an item only once and called us to let us know that it was waiting for us and apologized for their mistake. To contrast that, at Hall, they have forgotten items as well as given us empty preroll containers multiple times. It was always a fight there to get it corrected and had to call THEM multiple times, getting the impression they thought we were trying to steal from them. We appreciate that Barbur was proactive and we have never had a bad experience there. read more

Have a love/hate relationship with this dispensary. They started off great, but with expansion and the rec market, things have really gone downhill fast. On the one hand, it's close and often still has the specials advertised available when I come in. The staff, though you rarely ever see the same folks one trip to the next, are nice and relatively well trained/informed. On the other hand, their flower is mostly months old - the specials often have a lab date of 10 months to a year old - and lately, the pre-measured jars (and especially the gram containers) don't weigh out when you get home. The other day, bought two grams of a new product on short supply (they only had 5 grams left), came home and weighed the product - less than a gram combined. I'm still pissed off about that and the trend that this seems to be following... Also, their pre-rolls don't seem to be well handled. These are their new specials and I now know why. It seems most have been shaken upside down and lose a bunch of the shake/trim near the mouthpiece - rendering the doobie pretty much unsmokable. I think I'm done going to places that pre-weigh and pre-package their flower until the state steps in and starts conducting weight/measurement validation, like is done for grocery stores, gasoline, etc. It's just too easy to rip off customers these days with short fills. read more

I only ever come when they have their white label extracts sale which usually occurs once every other weekend. That being said this sale is phenomenal! Fantastic quality dabs for an incredibly low price! I usually stock up enough to last me til the next white label sale. Other good products here are the oregon genetics live resin, so i do get some of that occasionally because it is very good for the price, but it is a little more expensive. read more

-Update 7/26- Jeremy has reached out after reading my review and made everything right. Got my points reinstated as well as a complimentary 1/8th of my choosing the next time I visited. Just got back from my trip to Nectar and after filling out the loyalty rewards application, all my points have been returned, cashed in on my free 1/8th and bought another 1/2 oz. Bomb weed, Bomb budtenders, Bomb deals, can't go wrong with Nectar. It's nice that this bigger company cares about its customers. We'll be going back on the regular. Thank you Jeremy, and the Nectar staff, for handling this situation so well. Back to #1 in my book. --------------------------------------------------- -Original Review- My girlfriend and I moved here in May, 2016 and we've visited approximately six dispensaries in search of a place that we could consider our "Go-to" dispensary. It wasn't until 11/17/2016 that my girlfriend and I discovered Nectar Dispensary on Barbur Boulevard. Nectar Dispensary was the ONE we've been searching for! My girlfriend and I were so excited and we visited Nectar on a weekly basis buying eighth and quarter ounces, sometimes half ounces if we were feeling froggy. It wasn't until 4/20/2017 that one of the bud tenders mentioned that Nectar had a quarter, half-ounce, and ounce deal, mixing and matching, AS LONG AS THE BUD WAS THE SAME TIER...fantastic! My girlfriend and I favored the $14 tier (top shelf), so we started buying half ounces on a weekly basis for the price of $168 instead of $196. Same day, as we were checking out, we also found out our loyalty points balance, which was over 1100 points. The budtender said that Nectar hasn't formulated a plan on how to use the rewards points yet, but I wasn't concerned because I had a hefty balance to utilize whenever Nectar figured out a plan. Fast-forward a few weeks, as we entered Nectar we were informed that "Nectar is updating their system and that if we didn't want to lose our rewards points balance, we had to fill out the printed form provided. We took the five minutes to fill out the form and continued on our day. Fast forward another few weeks, May 30th to be exact, we go into Nectar as usual and we are greeted with "are you in the system yet"? He mentioned that the new system wiped some people's loyalty points. Found out that I was one of the unlucky bastards to lose all my points! I was so incredibly angry! I've spent thousands of dollars at this establishment, was forewarned that we needed to fill out these forms so we didn't lose our points, and what do you know...NECTAR LOST ALL OUR POINTS! Can you imagine spending all this money, racking up points, and then to say that my slate has been wiped clean, like I've never spent a dime at your establishment?! That is NOT how you "reward" loyal customers, Nectar! Fast forward to tonight, 6/3/2017 on our way to purchase another half-ounce, we were about to be charged the FULL $196 price for the $14 tier bud. I questioned the budtender as I'm used to paying $168 per the half ounce deal. She went and talked to her Lead and she came back with "The bud has to be the same strain in order for you to get the half ounce deal". I told her "no, we've been buying half ounces for $168 as long as it's the same tier, not the same strain". So my girlfriend and I ask to speak to the Manager before our transaction. The manager comes out and says "oh there was an email sent out about a week ago saying that the deal has changed and that it has to be the same strain in order for us to get the deal." Again, this angered me. Who wants to smoke a half ounce of the same strain?! C'mon Nectar. To wrap this up, our seven-month relationship with Nectar has gone completely SOUR within a few weeks. We've lost all our loyalty points, and our favorite deal has been changed to a limit of one strain. On the drive home, my girlfriend and I made the decision that we will NOT be spending any more money at Nectar and we will find another place. Nectar, it's been real but you've screwed one of your most loyal customers and you're losing out on a lot of cash-flow. We've spent $3,689 since November 2016 (roughly $527 per month!) at your establishment. Now that money is going elsewhere. PS. I will say that the staff is incredibly friendly and helpful. Eager to help and show you plenty of options. Sometimes the budtenders are a little too talkative for my taste, but I'm not complaining, they're selling and recommending great bud! read more

The folks at Nectar are awesome! I was a first timer back in December and they took the time to explain all the different strains and recommended some good bud for a first timer. My wife and I have been back a number of times and every time we get outstanding customer service and product. The folks who work there are really into what they do and take time to make recommendations to help you pick the right thing. They have never steered me wrong, even when my wife said "surprise me" and let the guy just pick a random preroll. The only negative thing I have to say is that they get very busy very quickly, and the system for ordering and then paying seems a little scattered at times. Understandable because the area is already small and then divided into recreational and medical, so there will naturally be some chaos, but I think organizing the chaos will be very beneficial. read more

WARNING- NOT AN ALLY OF THE LGBT COMMUNITY. This place has an endless supply of harsh nugs. If you're looking for flower that has not been properly flushed and will burn your throat, this is the place for you! They even price it similar to flower thaThis not super harsh that you can get at other places nearby, which is really cool, right?! On top of that, the bud tenders and managers refuse to appropriately deal with harassment of minorities within their store. Instead of ejecting a customer for using hate speech, they allowed him to continue his transaction and continue being a customer, despite threatening and intimidating a transgender customer. This guy was literally yelling and screaming at this woman and brought her to tears with his intimidation, and all that happened was one out of the three employees very limply asked him to stop but did not eject him from the store. They have certainly lost my business and I hope the rest of the LGBT community follows suit. read more

I like the variety of quality flower and for medical the prices are reasonable. They always had a medical counter that was helped before recreational customers but tonight when I went in I found that due to recent law changes they had to declare as recreational on their license and therefore there is no longer a separation. This bummed me out because for years I've been used to going into dispensaries and getting meds quickly and easily, but since the legalization of recreational sales every shop I go to I'm met with a long wait. That's one thing I loved about this place, one of the few still honoring medical sales first. Tonight I was met with a long line and long wait. :( HOWEVER, it's always 1 of 2 guys who ends up helping me in their and I asked one tonight about the separation in med/rec sales and he gave me the info I mentioned above. He Let me know that in the future i can go to the front of the line to a side counter and let them know that I'm medical and someone will help me as soon as they are finished with the person they are currently helping. This made me extremely happy especially considering my qualifying condition makes it difficult for me to stand for long periods of time and be in such busy, crowded spaces. I will continue to pick my meds up from this place and a big round of applause for continuing to put the needs of medical patients before the sales for recreational use! This is an excellent little shop. The staff is ALWAYS AWESOME!! They are really knowledgeable and truthful about the quality of the strains they have to offer. Prices are really really good for this area. But the really awesome thing is that they always have $6 grams that are awesome. Theres always a couple really stunny ones in there with a descent CBD. Usually have some pretty descent deals for rec too. read more
