Stopped by this place for some classic looking burgers after a short hike. We got Vienna Eagle Burgers, cheese fries and a chocolate shake. The burger was pretty massive and came with a decent amount of veggies. Despite it's size, I was able to eat the whole thing, not sure how. I just realized now it was a 1/2 lb burger, lol. But it was a good simple burger. The fries were crispy and seasoned well. The cheese sauce was a bit odd. It wasn't warm and the consistency was too congealed. I still ate it though. This place was an awesome pit stop on our drive to Nashville from Chicago. The prices were very cheap compared to what we are used to but not only that, the food was also really good! Make sure that you get their sauce on the side and put that on everything!! It's really good! Whenever we are driving south on I-57 for whatever reason, we will definitely stop by there again! read more

We really enjoyed our experience! Ned's Shed is like stepping back to 1950's. The owner took our order. She asked the locals if they wanted the "usual." We were asked if we've been there before and then shared their history with us. Their special relish is great on a hotdog or sandwich. Just stopped in for the first time today! Oh my goodness the food is soo good and the relish so awesome we bought a jar to take home. The service is stellar and the owners and staff are amazing and friendly and treated my service dog like royalty this place is a must stop!! They make a simple, (cheap!), no-frills burger, with a nice relish, applied with a generous hand. And they do a decent job with the deep-fryer, turning out some fair fried pickle slices and some unusually excellent fried cheese curds. Not sure why that deep-fryer magic didn't yield better french fries, though. Better than the fast food chains. read more

What a great little place. Stopped in on a weekday, the place was packed, but 2 fellows offered us their seats and took their orders to go. The owners are friendly, service was great with all the food served fresh. The bbq was whole smoked ham that is chopped and delicious and the sauce is made in-house as well. The owners even offered us an alternative route to construction traffic on the highway. We will definitely stop there again. read more

Coming home from Florida we stopped in Vienna to get gas and eat. Found this little place and we instantly fell in love. I had the Horseshoe and it was super delicious! The cheese sauce is out of this world. We also had fried pickles and they were just as good. It's definitely a must visit and we will make this a permanent stop now when heading to Florida! read more

Ned's Shed is a great hole in the wall place! the service here is great and the food is even better. I ordered a double bacon cheese burger with ned's famous fries and it came up super quick and tasted delicious. Not to mention the fact that's it's so cheap, $3.25 for a double cheeseburger?! This place is one of those wonderful surprises you come across from time to time. This was one of the best burgers I've had in a loooong time. The homemade relish on top was a perfect addition. Fresh, hot, and delicious!! Also they have fountain Ski which was an added bonus! We had just got done biking 25 miles on the Tunnel Hill State Trail so I worked up quite an appetite and went for the triple burger and it did not disappoint. It was only .3 miles from the Vienna trail head parking lot. Staff was super friendly! We will be back! read more

This is a small time gem that we will gladly return to if we are ever passing through again... we'll even hold off on lunch in order to make it work. This family owned business is about to celebrate 70 years and they'll tell you their cabbage-based relish is what their known for. I'm not a big relish fan, but it IS good! I had a traditional double cheese burger, tater tots, and a chocolate malt. All 3 were made to perfection!! My husband tried their special burger topped with their pulled chicken with bbq sauce and loved it. He also loved their seasoned fries. It's been a long time since I've had tots and fries fried to such perfection! Space is limited and they only accept cash and local checks (we spent $4 at the ATM across the street, but it was worth every penny!) The son, granddaughter, and great grandson of the founder were all working behind the counter and as friendly as can be. I can't recommend this place enough! read more

Fun mom and pop shop. They have a condiment table where you can add chow Chow to your burger. To be honest, I've had better. Also, don't even bother getting the single burger. Hardly no meat. The onion rings were good. The fries were thin, and not my favorite. The winner of the meal was my husbands Ned's special. It's a burger with pork on it. And also, the strawberry malt was great. This is an "All American" Classic, living nostalgia, Americana 5 days a week run by a lovely and friendly staff happy to welcome you in this humble little town just off if I-57. Yes they have strong burgers with a house made relish not to be missed, and fries with their own seasoning mixture that will not disappoint, but the big winner for me in the first try were the Onion Rings. Stopped by while driving through. I'd much rather eat at a place like this than a chain. The fries are really yummy (and the orders are big), and the burgers are cheap and tasty. Well worth the 1.5 mile drive from the interstate. Ned's Shed is the kind of joint that used to be the backbone of small towns all across the country. Burgers, fries, shakes and pure friendliness. It was obvious to our server that we weren't from around there and just passing through, but we felt like family immediately. Shakes and root beer were fast, cheap and delicious. Tater tots and fries were golden and crispy. The real star was the BBQ, chopped pulled pork with great fixins: Memphis-style sauce, pickles and a slaw-based relish like none we've ever had.
