I am unsure on how they billed my primary health insurance for any portion of the eye exam but they did (insurance FRAUD?). I contacted MyEyeDr's billing department, the office of service and VSP - all of whom are INCOMPETENT and UNWILLING to do what's right. Without confirming, Victor in the Billing department just stated billing was correct and that I would need to take it up with VSP. Receptionist Brie who is as condescending as can be also said billing was correct until I reiterated MyEyeDr billed the incorrect insurance. Brie even said she was unsure why VSP was not billed for the eye exam. Spoke with Office Manager Marshall who does NOT return calls or texts. MyEyeDr puts all the work on the client to clean up THEIR mess. ZERO accountability. Completely UNPROFESSIONAL. WORST optometry office on this planet! 0/5 stars. Would absolutely NOT recommend

I have been having an issue with eyes for over 2 weeks - that has been scary and worries me daily - I work from home on a computer all day and for the past two weeks when I wake up, its a struggle to keep my eyes open. It is like my eyes are sensitive to the light --- and also the dark -- so much that I physically have to strain to keep them open, causing headaches and everyday i wake up worried my eyes will not stay open. I had paid to see a teladoc a couples day prior to this appointment -- and an antibiotic drop was prescribed, in which, I had to put in my eyes EVERY 2 hours.... after a couple days of no improvement, my mom came to my house and put a drop of medicine she had left from when she had cataract surgery a few months ago In my eyes and -- I am not kidding when I tell you it was like a miracle-- after one drop I was so relieved that something finally helped but the I could tell it might need a few more drops to completely heal all the way. Well I booked an appointment with Eric Lee at MyEyeDr. for an exam so I could get some insight on what was going on with my eyes and hopefully get some of those drops that actually worked, but instead Eric Lee wanted to prescribe me a different antibiotic and have me try something else as if I had not told him I already tried something that had proven to help. He was unable to tell me what was wrong with my eyes and said I needed to see a cornea specialist. It is hard to see the value or put your confidence in someone who is very nonchalant and does absolutely nothing to help you. He didn't know how to solve the problem, so why would I trust his judgment or try a different antibiotic, when I've already told him I tried something that works and helped. I went in seeking help... I left just as worried as I have been for 2 weeks. No reassurance, no solution, and unwilling to help.

Overall, my new pair of glasses cost me over $700 (I did get the "extras" regarding the lenses). This is on me, of course, because nobody forced me to pull the trigger on the purchase. Just saying, though, that I believe the "mark-up" on glasses here is pretty steep. Just my luck, I received a coupon in the mail 1 week later from JC Penney for a 60% discount. From my initial phone call to set up the appointment, checking in with the receptionist, getting explanations at each stage of the appointment, and all the way to the frame/lens purchasing, it was the most informative and most confident I've ever felt walking out of a doctor's office. You can tell that Dr. Jessica Luong is very well educated and well versed in all things optometry. She was very thorough in her explanations, and she recommends what is best for the patient. The atmosphere in the office is modern and light--not like other offices where you're just dying to get out of there. Also, the staff is so friendly and welcoming, and they made my overall experience wonderful! Who knew that I could have so much fun at an eye exam? I love that this is also family-owned and operated. The two optometrists are brother and sister, and their mom helps out in the front--I am all about supporting family businesses, so this is just the cherry on top! I can't wait for my friends, coworkers, and family to ask for optometrist recommendations because I want to send everyone here so that they too can get the best eye experience. I wish all my doctor visits were like this because it makes me so much more confident when my doctor is as knowledgeable and can share their knowledge with their patients. Within minutes, I was escorted to the back by a young lady who asked me questions about my medical history and took some eye readings and turned out we had the exact same pair of eye glasses which progressed into a long discussion about our favorite imported frame vendor! I didn't get her name but she was very personable. Then came my eye exam with Dr. Peterson who listened to my concerns and was able to hook me up with a prescription for new reading glasses. There were some pretty cool high tech features that came into play while he was doing my eye exam. He was also pretty funny and has a great music selection playing in the waiting room (this is one of those things I take notice of anytime I'm in a business and makes an impression on me). Last, was my interaction with Ray who helped me pick out a new pair of glasses. He was very helpful in recommending frames to try on while still letting me do my own thing and he was also very patient while I struggled to make a decision. One thing I love about this practice is their vast selection of designer frames. I've been to other practices where I struggle just to find "a" pair that is decent. I have the opposite problem here (can't decide on which one I like most!). This is my 3rd pair of glasses I've purchased from this location. I was told that it was maybe because I was used to "cheap" eyeglasses (I used to have them done in Walmart, or Sam's or Costco). Second year I went there, I was sure my measure had changed because I was kind of uncomfortable with the old eyeglasses. The doctor told me that the measure had not changed but pointed out that my 62 year old eyes were not the same as younger eyes. Really? Do we need a reminder we are getting old? I decided not to be so sensitive and gave them another opportunity this year, because I believe in second chances. BIG MISTAKE! After waiting for a week or more, I was told my eyeglasses had been sent to another location in a different state. Then, when I finally got them, once again, I could not read with them. They took it back to make an adjustment. Mind you, this time I was wearing THEIR glasses, not the "cheap" ones, as before, so it was not a matter of adjusting to a better quality. A week or more after I received the new eyeglasses. The left lens was incorrectly cut and kept falling off the frame. Took the eyeglasses back for yet another fixing. 3 weeks in a row I was told that the eyeglasses were going to be ready "next week", and Brian kept apologizing profusely for all the issues. After the 3rd time the eyeglasses were not ready when I was told they were going to be ready, Brian told me they were giving me the money back (I did not ask for it, he offered it), which they did. Today I went there decided to just get my prescription and have the eyeglasses done somewhere else. Something I didn't do before, because I did not want to wait again for the glasses to be ready somewhere else. This time the glasses were finally there. Out came Brian with the eyeglasses, and put them on the table while telling me that they did not have any warranty anymore because they had refunded me with the cost. Again, I did not ask for it! So, at this point, I hope this time the glasses are fine, because I will have to start all over again somewhere else if they are not, due to the refund and lack of warranty. I was running 4 mins behind due to traffic and they went ahead and brought in the appointment behind me since they were already there and waiting. Not ideal for me of course but great if the shoe had been on the other foot. It's a pretty cozy space so I waited for the appointment to wrap up by admiring the small town views and a few new pair of glasses. Dr. Nguyen was a pleasure. She was knowledgeable and made sure that I had just as much of an understanding of what was going on with my eyes. I didn't feel rushed at all going through my exam and she gave me thoughtful suggestions on my next steps to ensure that my eye health was being prioritized. I also appreciated that Dr. Nguyen sanitized the equipment before having me use each machine. At the front desk for check out, the woman who helped me there was also really patient as I scrambled to find my HSA card to pay. It started pouring down raining and she was even kind enough to walk me through the back door to my car so I wouldn't get as wet. I will be ordering my new contacts from here soon and was told the turnaround time is really quick. I look forward to receiving them and I am excited to have a new eye doctor.

Before scheduling the appointments, I asked the front desk three separate times to confirm that both of my children's eye exams would be covered by insurance. They repeatedly confirmed they were covered. Even when we checked in, no one mentioned any issue. After the exams, however, they told me at checkout that one child was still within the one-year period and that I had to pay the medical exam fee. If there was a problem with the insurance eligibility, they should have informed me before the appointment or before the doctor saw my child--not after everything was finished. To make matters worse, the second exam felt incomplete. The doctor only looked at the photos that had been taken, said there was no vision change, and did not perform a manual vision check. When I explained that their staff had confirmed coverage multiple times, no one apologized. The doctor came out looking upset but offered no explanation or acknowledgment of the staff's mistake. There was also confusion about my vision insurance. The front desk insisted that my insurance would not cover frames. Since I have a PPO vision plan, I went home and called my insurance company myself. They confirmed the office is in-network and that my plan includes up to a $150 frame allowance. When I called the office back, they admitted they had checked incorrectly and said my frames actually were covered. The lack of communication, inaccurate insurance information, and poor customer service made this a very frustrating experience. There are plenty of other eye care providers nearby that are more organized and respectful of their patients' time. I won't be returning.

The first doctor wrote an incorrect prescription, which caused vision problems when the glasses were made. I returned to the store, and the second doctor acknowledged the prescription was wrong and rewrote it. Unfortunately, the second prescription was also incorrect, meaning my vision was still not properly corrected. I spoke with the store manager, Rosario, hoping to resolve the situation or at least receive a refund for the exam since the prescriptions were inaccurate. Instead, she refused to offer any resolution or refund. Her response was that they could rewrite the prescription again and "maybe get it right on the third try." That was extremely disappointing and not reassuring when it comes to something as important as vision. I also contacted corporate customer care, and they told me there was nothing they could do because the decision was up to the store manager. This experience showed a serious lack of accountability and professionalism. When it comes to your eyesight, accuracy matters. Please be careful trusting this location with your vision. My…read moreeyesight is TERRIBLE so I don't exactly look forward to my annual eye exam - the puff in the eye thing, the letter charts I can't ever read, "1 or 2", "3 or 4", etc. Just tell me how much worse my prescription is this time and let me go. The optometrist was kind & talked to me about different options and I didn't feel like a blind idiot when I left. I'd be happy to come back here again.
