I would not recommend this place. We've been bringing our kids here for the past 3 years, and this was by far the worst experience. Before scheduling the appointments, I asked the front desk three separate times to confirm that both of my children's eye exams would be covered by insurance. They repeatedly confirmed they were covered. Even when we checked in, no one mentioned any issue. After the exams, however, they told me at checkout that one child was still within the one-year period and that I had to pay the medical exam fee. If there was a problem with the insurance eligibility, they should have informed me before the appointment or before the doctor saw my child--not after everything was finished. To make matters worse, the second exam felt incomplete. The doctor only looked at the photos that had been taken, said there was no vision change, and did not perform a manual vision check. When I explained that their staff had confirmed coverage multiple times, no one apologized. The doctor came out looking upset but offered no explanation or acknowledgment of the staff's mistake. There was also confusion about my vision insurance. The front desk insisted that my insurance would not cover frames. Since I have a PPO vision plan, I went home and called my insurance company myself. They confirmed the office is in-network and that my plan includes up to a $150 frame allowance. When I called the office back, they admitted they had checked incorrectly and said my frames actually were covered. The lack of communication, inaccurate insurance information, and poor customer service made this a very frustrating experience. There are plenty of other eye care providers nearby that are more organized and respectful of their patients' time. I won't be returning. read more

Been going to see Dr. An for about 10 years or so. He's my second optometrist - the first one I had a not so good experience with getting progressive lenses. Dr. An tried to convince me for a while to get progressive lenses, and this time I finally went for it. Have to say they are truly transformative - just seem dead on, though they do take a little getting used to / training. Would say he's a master practitioner and same goes for his "chair-side manner". His whole practice seems competent, professional, and courteous. Feel very fortunate to have found them. read more

I have been coming here for my annual eye exam around 4 years now, and Dr. An is always very professional, and conscientious with his exams. I always feel like he really cares about my eye health, and he really listens to any needs or issues I am having with my eyesight. I would highly recommend his clinic. Went in for a routine eye check and to see if Dr An could help me with an eye condition I have had for the past 15 years or so. "Doctor" walked out into the hallway when we walked in and didn't even greet us, just sighed and walked in to another room and closed the door. Lol. Great doctor, great staff, great practice. I've been coming here for years and they always make a great effort to get you an appointment quickly. The doctor spends a decent amount of time with you, and they are a practice that's fluent in English and Korean. The 5 stars speak for itself-- I've been Dr. An's patient for the past 2-3 years now and I never leave disappointed. From the simple and always organized environment, friendly front desk (also very knowledgeable in operating the pre-examination) to an awesome optometrist, who actually takes interest in conversing with me (which definitely helps the appointment run much smoother). I'm never hesitant to ask any questions if I'm ever confused about my results or about the big ophthalmology terms I may come across. He makes it such a comfortable visit! I'm not too sure on the prices for their prescription glasses and sunglasses, however, if you ever need your contact lenses/eyeglasses prescription in hand to use for purchase elsewhere, the front desk is always efficient in sending it to you via email asap! read more

Great place. Took my insurance without a problem, was able to get everything 100% covered. The doctor was very patient and the session didn't feel rushed at all. He listened to what I had to say and asked questions and was able to get me just what I needed. Took about a week to get my glasses in. They called me as soon as they were ready. Front desk staff was acceptable. They were training a new employee, and no problems. The woman who fit me for my frames was very friendly. I will be back next year when my vision plan cycles through, unless I need to buy replacement frames or lenses between now and then. read more

Dr. An's office was able to squeeze me in as a walk-in for an emergency contact lens exam/fitting after I ripped one of my contact lenses. I was traveling and my prescription had just expired. When I called in, the girls that work the front desk were attentive and told me the best times to come in so I wouldn't have to wait long. Dr. An was professional, accommodating, and incredibly friendly. I couldn't ask for a better visit. The exam and trial pair of contacts totaled to around $100 without insurance. I've been taking both my teenagers here for the past 3 years. I found them because of their reviews and most importantly, their convenient Saturday hours and location right near my home. I struggle with appointments during the week, but I can get stuff done on Saturday and they are flexible during those limited hours-sometimes able to "squeeze" us in. The staff and doctor are not very engaged with customers, Outside of "May I help you", you have to drive the conversation, which in the beginning of the business relationship, was difficult for me because I knew nothing about glasses or what the kids needed to do. I didn't understand how the insurance worked. But once you express what you need-step by step -they are pretty efficient. This is located in an area of Carrollton known as "Korea town" where all the businesses are run and patronized by mostly Koreans, so that maybe a culture thing that I'm not familiar with. They are friendly but won't go beyond the specific request you made. No small talk, or how have things been with the contacts, glasses, etc. It's an efficient, transactional process that works for this busy mom, but doesn't have me passing out their business cards. I was there a week ago and a lady was pretty much scolding them for not having supplies for the glasses during her last few visits, explaining that she travels far for the visits and it's inconvenient to return to pick up the rest of the care supplies. The staff appeared to invent a new policy (I never knew about it) where those supplies need to be purchased now, and they were doing her a favor by providing them for free. The customer was livid with this sudden new policy versus an apology and some kind of accommodation, but the staff just stood there and waited her out. Just let her leave. The next time I visited, I asked about the cleaner, etc. and they offered to sell it to me. I just left because I don't expect more from them-solid, efficient service with no frills. read more

I could not disagree with Johnny C more. I have been using Swiss Eye Care as my primary eye doctor for well over a year. Dr. An is incredible and the staff he has selected is well-trained and I have no idea where Johnny came up with the false claims that they don't speak English. Every technician I have been exposed to (likely all of them with the amount of times I've been there) has been nothing short of awesome. They're all very kind and knowledgeable about the tests that they are administering prior to Dr. An's examination. I started going to Dr. An when my prescription was -5.00 and as my vision got worse (ended up reaching -6.75) up until now where he has become my post-LASIK doctor for all follow-ups. I can give nothing but the highest recommendation for this establishment. read more

I have been coming here for the past 1-2 years. I called today to get coverage details since I have a new vision insurance thru a new employer. Talk about unpleasant/unhappy staff. Grace was her name, she's simply not thrilled to take calls, zero customer service skills. After I received coverage information, I said I will call back (to schedule a future appointment for my family) and said thanks. Before I even finished saying thanks she clicked on me. I called right back to call her out on how rude she was and tell her what is up with her attitude. She said I'm sorry I have other calls waiting. Now that I'm reading their reviews, I see so many "staff needs training", "rude" reviews. My experience with Dr. Ahn has been good, (seen him twice in the past) unfortunately, I won't be back for another visit here. What patient/customer want to deal with these types of unskilled/unfriendly/rude staff?? I'll give my business to another practice that knows basic, standard customer service. read more

I have seen Dr An for about 3 years now and I have always had a pleasant experience. My 4 year old needed to see an eye doctor because her brief exam at her pediatrician concluded she needed further evaluation. Well I called and the girl at the front desk verified with the doctor about seeing my daughter. Reluctantly I made an appointment but I'm very glad I did! Dr An and his staff were awesome with Hannah. She did not need glasses right now but we will monitor it. Dr An had a good first impression on my tot and she was very comfortable doing the exam with him. I would highly recommend Dr An if you need a routine eye exam for your child. read more

Just had the worst experience in this place. I was 10 mins late to my appointment. Which I admit to as my bad. So they had to mark my appointment as "missed" and set me up as a "walk in." However, they were so incredibly overbooked. So I asked them for an estimated time frame for my wait. And they said they couldn't give me a time frame but they will have time to see me before lunch. My appointment was for 10:40. So I waited for about an hour and a half. At noon, I went check on my waiting status and they had me behind the 11:00 and 11:20 appointment. It was 12:10. Which tells me even if I got there on time they were already running an hour behind. If I knew they were so overbooked and running behind I would've just canceled the appointment and saved 2 hours of my life. They should NOT of taken a walk in appointment and should've communicated clearly to me that they were overbooked. This place obviously does not care about quality service seeing how they overbook these appointments. The disregard for my time and miscommunication from the ladies at the front desk was frustrating. Also, the ladies are inconsiderate and rude in their mannerisms and communications. I will not be going back to Swiss eye care and do not recommend this place. read more

I called around to over 15 optometrist offices last week and no one had availability the same day for a basic eye exam but this office. My appointment was an hour and a half after calling and the entire exam went great and expeditiously! The entire staff I interacted with including the Doctor was nice and professional. While I am quite pleased with Dr. An himself, my experience overall leaves MUCH to be desired. I visited in July 2014. Every interaction I have had with the admin staff has been disappointing. They are unprofessional and unknowledgeable. I felt like I needed to instruct them on how to interpret my (very standard) insurance. I also felt like I didn't know where I was supposed to be for the duration of my visit. I checked in at the front counter and then awkwardly stood there before she finally said "oh, you can have a seat we'll let you know when we're ready". Things like that. And then at the end of my visit I was told to have a good day, but then chased in the parking lot because I didn't pay my copay. This was constant throughout my visit. I called today because I just realized a major discrepancy with how they billed my insurance and after spending 20 seconds explaining the reason for my call I was asked if I could please hold for one second... This was 17 minutes ago. No one has checked in, nothing. Just sitting here waiting, long enough for me to decide to write this review. Really a shame. I think very highly of Dr An but he really should consider hiring some professionals to support him. read more

This doctor is fine, but I will never order glasses from this store again. They told me they would send my order to the lab three weeks ago. I have called repeatedly to check on status and was given a perpetually sliding due date. Today they told me that they didn't even send the order to the lab until 2 weeks after I placed the order! There are just too many eyewear vendors out there (including in the same plaza as this company) to deal with this nonsense. If you value your time and sanity - look elsewhere! read more

Bought a pair of Tory Burch sunglasses. A bit over priced even though the guy kept telling me he's giving me great discount... I could have bought this somewhere else for $150 but paid $200 to get them here. Why? I needed extra nose pads attached for my low Asian nose. So worth it. Dr. An was the only eye doctor out of 4 other optometrists that solved the issues I was having with my contacts. All other optometrists told me that I had dry eyes when it was in fact an allergy to the preservative in my contact solution. I will keep going back. read more
