Veggie Planet is the premier choice for Indian fusion vegetarian cuisine. Even though their samosas…read moreare entirely plant-based, Veggie Planet offers the best samosas you'll find anywhere. We also really enjoy the live Pani Puri station! Guava and mango flavoured water are two of my favourites. I highly recommend Veggie Planet if you are seeking a snack or just a fun evening meal.

Christmas in March!…read more My best friend and I were supposed to meet up before Christmas. We both got busy, especially with my being stateside for the holidays. When I returned, she was away. We were both free in mid-March to exchange Christmas gifts and catch up. She lives in Peterborough. We tend to meet partway. I suggested this Veggie Planet in Ajax. She was game. We both had never been to any Veggie Planet location. I had no problem finding a parking spot in this plaza. I backed into a spot a few doors down from this eatery. I waited for my friend to arrive. Once she did, we walked in. Being our first time, we went with a pizza. I asked an extremely helpful woman behind the counter what size would be good for us. She recommended a medium pizza. We got the following items: - Medium Indian masala pizza - Onion rings - Kawa nuggets - Masala soda (sweet with a hint of saltiness) - Diet Pepsi My friend wanted onion rings. I originally wanted to get the kawa (soy) drumsticks. The female staffer recommended the nuggets instead. Interesting. I went with her suggestion. For the masala soda, she said that I could get it either sweet or salty. I asked if I could get a bit of each. So, my drink ended up being sweet with a hint of saltiness. I paid with a credit card. The transaction was smooth. She said that she'd bring the food and drinks over. Nice! We grabbed a table and chatted. Our drinks came out first. I loved my masala soda. It was slightly sweet. It did have a bit of saltiness to it. The masala was perfect with the fizzy soda. I just wish that this drink were offered in a larger size. I ended up getting a cold Diet Pepsi an hour later. It was perfect. Our medium Indian masala pizza came next. By default, it had tomatoes, onions, and green bell peppers. My friend is vegan. We made sure that we got vegan cheese. The pizza was yummy. The cheese melted nicely. However, with this vegan cheese, you will never get a stretchy cheese pull. In hindsight, this pizza would have been even better with protein. Kawa would have worked nicely. Luckily, we had kava nuggets. They were delicious. They were crispy and yummy. You couldn't tell that they were soy. The dipping sauce was yummy. I liked the onion rings. They were so crispy. They were enjoyable to eat. We spent at least a couple of hours here. I provided feedback on how fabulous the food was and how helpful the woman was when I bought my Diet Pepsi. She smiled and seemed happy. There is a washroom that's a single stall at the back of this eatery. It's the type where you press a button to lock the door and another button to unlock it. A light outside the washroom lets the world know that it's either vacant (green) or occupied (red). My friend used it first and said that it was clean. I used it afterwards. A customer tried opening the door twice while I was using the washroom. I actually said something the second time and she stopped tugging at the door handle as if her life depending on it. When I was done, I locked eyes with the woman who was clueless about the lights. Other than weird washroom woman, we had a great time here. I still want to try the drumsticks and get the masala soda again. So good! (139)

The bartender was friendly and knowledgeable, and when we moved to our table our server was also great. Cocktails were fabulous and the ambiance of the place is very nice. My wife ordered this vegetarian squash dish and she loved it. I ordered the steak and the cook was perfect but I found the sauce overpowering. It's personal preference, I like my steak with just salt and pepper without sauce. My fault for not reading the menu correctly. The sides of purée and veggies were great. Overall KB hits it out of the ballpark and is so much better than the chain upscale eateries.

Every dish I had was very good. For this meal I ordered something different, the shrimp stuffed catfish. Never had catfish so this dish was calling me. The sauce was very tasty and had a nice kick of heat to finish. Catfish was good and the shrimp stuffing was more like a meat ball texture and not really whole shrimp like I thought. Service was very good. Our waitress was chatty and was joking around with us which was fun. Ambiance is more on the rustic side almost had a saloon feel, partly because of the old building but it was quaint. There was plenty of free parking in the rear which was convenient. All in KB is a good option if you are looking for an above average restaurant in the east end.

Absolutely loved our dining experience here. You can feel the passion in each bite…read more They use local and fresh ingredients AND are able to accomodate gluten allergies, which so many restaurants cannot do. I love the pre-fixe, chef's choice dining style where you go in, there's no decisions for you to make (besides beverages) and you just enjoy! You begin with a delicious amuse bouche style bite and we received two courses of pasta. The pasta and udon noodles are freshly made and tasted delicious. HUGE fan of chewy fresh pasta. The udon was a little underdone, we had some floury bites, but honestly, the mushroom and truffle sauce just covered that right up! We got to finish up with a celery root pizza, and I was in heaven. This was an amazing pizza. I wish I could order this all the time, but that's the beautiful of their seasonal, changing menus! I loved that someone came out to introduce each of the dishes. Knowing where the ingredients came from and how the chef was inspired to make certain twists was really fun. I certainly appreciated the design of each dish more. Considering what a unique experience this is, I'm really grateful that they try to keep it priced reasonably per person so more people can enjoy the experience. I hope they're able to keep it going for years to come. I'd love to come back for date nights more often.

Everyone who works here is so nice and I love the vibe and cute little mushroom decor everywhere. Now to the food - so unique and absolutely unmatched. We had the fungi pizza and poblano pepper noodles. The pizza was so fluffy! And the noodles were so spicy and creamy. We also enjoyed the apple cake, which was so soft and cozy. Often times I'm wary of vegan meals like this because of the differences in cheese or cream but everything was absolutely phenomenal. I wish I could try some of their collab or tasting menus but unfortunately out of our budget. But the a la carte pizza and noodles did not disappoint - will definitely be back. The only note I'll mention is that it would be helpful to have some more description on the drinks menu for people that don't drink or are unfamiliar with an alcoholic drinks menu.
