I was recently passing through Birmingham on vacation and was missing a piece for my machine. It was Saturday and I was thinking I was stuck with a week of restless nights and sore throats. You would have a better customer experience at the DMV. I went in for new mask etc. Two large women hollered at me from behind desks instead I getting up and showing me options. They were more concerned with getting my insurance and $$ than they were helping me make the right selection. I am taking my business elsewhere. read more

My doctor's office faxed my prescription from my sleep study to Neighborhood CPAP. When I arrived at the store, Joey assisted me with getting fit for a mask. He thoroughly explained everything to me. I was treated with respect from start to finish! I didn't feel rushed to choose the mask or machine that I wanted. My Dr called in my prescription 9 days ago with a request to expedite due to heart failure. Neighborhood called the next day and said they had to order my equipment and it would be in early the following week. I called the store on Tuesday afternoon to find out why I hadn't heard from them. I was told for the second time they would have to order my equipment and it would be in before the end of the week. I told her it was supposed to be ordered the week before. She said it was. ??? I go by Friday on my way home from work to see if it is there and maybe they just forgot to tell me. Eventually Alexis is told to help me. I then explain why I'm there. She acts like she has no idea what I'm talking about. She looks in the back and tells me they don't have that model and will have to order it. I ask her if I need to get my Dr to call my prescription in elsewhere. She says "sure you can have it called in anywhere". Durp ok I'll do that. Massive fail. I was diagnosed with moderate sleep apnea earlier this year. The customer service at Neighborhood CPAP is so impressive. I called on a Sunday afternoon hoping to get a recorder to find out their hours for the following Monday. To my surprise the owner answered on his cell phone and offered to open the store just for me. He spent a few hours with me explaining everything and even threw in a couple of freebies to make my mask as comfortable as possible. They have incredible customer service. The first couple of times I visited this place was much more pleasant than my most recent visit. This time when I walked in I wasn't even greeted (barely acknowledged). A guy finally came over to offer assistance & once I told him what I needed he pointed to the lady I needed to speak with. Well, she glanced over at me and said, with attitude and dismay, "it's gonna be a while". UNVBELIEVABLE!!! Granted, she was speaking with another customer when I walked in (which I didn't mind as I wasn't in a rush) but a little niceness on the job is so much better for business in my opinion. What can I say... The costumer service is above and beyond the standard. The owner and his team are very passionate about their business. You will never feel rushed. I was in need of a new mask and thought I needed to live my office early to get to their shop across town. The owner assured me that that was not necessary and they would wait on me to get there. He spent an hour or so making sure all my question were answered and my mask fit comfortably and securely. These folks are the best. I put CPAP off for over a year after my sleep study because I didn't want to sleep with a machine. Finally my heart gave me no choice and when I went back to my sleep clinic they treated me very disrespectfully because I didn't do what they wanted me to when they wanted to. Thank goodness I found Neighborhood CPAP. These people treated me with dignity and really cared about making me as comfortable as possible with CPAP. After trying several masks and chinstraps I found a combination I could sleep with comfortably. Now I can't imagine sleeping without CPAP. I began using Neighborhood CPAP 2 years ago. I have used CPAP for over 10 years and was looking to purchase replacement equipment. I phoned other competitors around the city and explained my needs and insurance coverage. I was told about their requirements and payments even that I would need to rent the equipment. I knew these were not required by my insurance. After calling neighborhood CPAP I quickly discovered that the person I was talking to was going to take care of my needs. He took my insurance information and asked that I have my prescription with me or faxed to them should I decide to make my purchase there. They checked on my insurance coverage and called me back with the details. I didn't have to make an appointment and they are even open on Saturdays so I didn't have to miss work. I told them I would come on Saturday to see what they had. When I arrived I was expected and they explained the various equipment and my obligations. These guys use CPAP equipment and know exactly what they are talking about not just what the sales reps tell them! It was so nice to actually be able to talk with someone that actually uses and understands the issues with CPAP. If you want personalized service in a relaxed atmosphere from a group of friendly caring people that will work with you to gain your business this is the place to go! I have only been using Neighborhood CPAP for a few months but I have had a very positive experience with them. When I was looking for a new unit for my sleep apnea, they really took their time and helped me pick the unit that would be best for me.
