I bought fish here about 3-4 years ago. At that time, they had many kinds of goldfish, both small and large, and many other fish as well. Yesterday I visited again because I really like goldfish, but there were not as many as before. I'm not sure if they were sold out or if they just did not have many in stock. I was a little disappointed because I drove a long distance to come here. The service was very good. One young female staff member took great care of us and spoke very kindly. Even though the weather was very hot, she still helped us for quite a long time with a good attitude. The prices have increased compared to before. A few years ago, I bought fish for around $15-20, but now similar fish cost around $40-45. However, compared to general pet stores, the prices are still much cheaper. All of the tanks at this store are completely infested with camallanus worms. I've found reviews from two years ago and they've completely ignored the issue, resulting in who knows how many fish deaths. Bought some red root floaters from them and within 5 days, 2 of my fish have died and my betta is completely bursting with camallanus worms. The store might seem nice at first but if you look a bit closer you'll notice the absolutely deplorable condition a majority of the livestock are kept in. read more

Lost so much money going to this fish farm. Don't be fooled by the looks of the place... yes it looks nice at first sight but all the fish and plants have diseases. They blamed my water for months and feel truly disrespectful. More than 150 dollars spent at this locations just for all the fish to die and kill my original fish. I went back just to test it, I bought and fish (betta) and left it in the original water and treated him. Instantly parasites started coming out of him. I'm making this post so that people that truly care about their fish can be warned before purchasing. I lost beautiful bettas just because i mixed them with bettas from this location. I've been going to the fish farm for years, I've donated over 40 different fishes for them to resale! today I went to buy 3 snails and some plants for my aquarium, I had 20 dollars cash and the total was exactly 20 plus 1 dollar fee that they charge, I asked if I can pay the 1 dollar in card since I wanted to get rid of my 20 and they said that the minimum in card is 10. I said, ok I want to get rid of the 20 cash can you do the exception this one time? They said no. Although the staff is very friendly, this review is not about them. This is about the treatment of their livestock, which is unfortunately not great. As someone who has been in the aquarium hobby for some time, seeing the conditions their betta fish are in was very hard. Most, if not all, are kept in tiny, tiny cups with barely any water or space to move, in a dark bin in the back. What little water they do have is very obviously fouled, green with algae or cloudy. The fish themselves look sick and miserable. Unable to move, they either float to the top or lay on their sides at the bottom. There are many of them... These animals are living creatures. Anyone who has owned them knows they're intelligent and need more than a 1/2 a cup to live in. A quick Google search confirms they need at least 5 gallons to live comfortably and regular water changes. They don't even have a full cup of water there. Keeping bettas trapped in old tequila bottles as a novelty (see pictures) is unacceptable and cruel. The conditions they're kept in are incredibly sad and honestly abusive. They have the space, they have the tanks. There is no excuse. Considering this farm has been around serving hobbyists and novices alike for a long time, they should know better. Way better. Neighborhood Fish Farm should be a positive example of how to keep your animals, not the opposite. read more

This is our go-to spot for aquarium plants, pond plants, snails, and hard scape materials. Most of the plants in our tank (pictured) , and the dragon stone were purchased here. The staff is extremely friendly, deeply knowledgeable, and very patient. My wife and I always have questions when we go, and the staff are always happy to help. This place is so amazing, and I don't think there's anywhere else quite like it in the area, though I could be wrong. I went there for plants and I'm happy with the plants I got, but let me tell you, I wanted to get so much more. They do have great prices on pretty much everything, by the way, and you can tell they know what they're doing. I will say that buying fairy moss from them might not be the best idea. I did that, and it ended up having a ton of duckweed mixed in. I don't mind duckweed, but I wanted fairy moss, and I question whether the fairy moss will be able to survive alongside something as aggressive as duckweed. Other that that one minor thing, though, this place is definitely great and, if you love freshwater fish, and you're in South Florida, you need to go here...just remember to dress for the weather, because it's very hot there. read more

Another fantastic find thanks to yelp. I was looking for some colorful and healthy fresh water fish. All I was able to find at the local stores were were dull colored guppies, tetras, & placos. They all seemed to have the same inventory. I checked help before ordering fish online and found this jewel. I've never been to a location such as this that is actually open to the public. Normally only fish stores buying in volume are allowed. I visited on a miserable rainy day and the staff were so pleasant and helpful. I had an idea of what I wanted, but when I got there and saw the bright and vast fish varieties - it all went out the window. There are tons of cement "ponds". They're made of cement and sit about 3.5 ft from the ground each labeledwith what'sinside and pricing. The smaller rectangular ponds in the front contain the smaller fish, while the large square ones in the back have the Koi & other big fish. There's also a small room at the very front of the entrance full of fresh water puffers, betas, & cichlids. I ended up buying some hatchets, guppies, shrimp, & german blue & golden rams. The ladies there picked us some great fish & blue shrimp i would havenever found locally. The rams we bought even had eggs less than a week later. Nice place with a lot of fish to select from. I like coming here for their African Cichlids. The only thing is, I highly recommend is quarantining your fish when you bring them home. I bought fish here two times already ;and every time I took them home they started developing ich several days later. Also, I have introduced detritus worms (harmless, but ugly looking) to my QT after bringing fish home from there. These worms come from over feeding or poor maintenance. Their fish storage coffins could be cleaner; and as a result fish won't have this problem. Overall, it's a nice place with a variety to choose from. The staffs are friendly. The maintenance , however, needs to be a little better. Oh! And please pick up your phone when we call. read more

The Neighborhood Fish Farm is a hidden gem. No seriously, it's in the middle of horse country and situated between a few houses. Driving through the area you could easily pass the farm without even noticing it. It's an open air farm which is on a pretty big plot of land theres gotta be close to 100 outdoor tanks about the size of a twin mattress and then even bigger ones located out back. I imagine this place is great to take the kids because most of the tanks are pretty low in height so you really get to get in there and see your fish before purchasing.
