Brilliant opportunities for volunteers. Brilliant work stocking shelves for those in need.

Store Location: 530 Fennell Avenue E, Hamilton, ON Phone:…read more(905) 581‑6616 Manager spoken to: Ashley This store has delivered the single worst customer experience I have ever encountered, If I could give worse than 0 I would and I want the public to know exactly how customers are treated here. I have shopped at this location many times, always with my personal grocery cart -- a fully open, visible cart that cannot conceal anything. My previous visits are on their own security footage, and I have receipts and timestamps to prove how often I've shopped here without issue. During my most recent visit, a security guard approached me and my 12‑year‑old child in an aggressive and confrontational manner. He demanded that I leave my cart without providing any posted policy, written rule, or explanation. When I asked him to show me where this rule existed, he couldn't. Instead, he escalated the situation -- raising his voice, beating his chest, and attempting to intimidate us rather than simply directing me to a designated area. Customers with strollers and backpacks were allowed in freely, even though those items are far easier to hide things in. My cart was wide open, yet somehow that was the issue. The inconsistency and targeting were obvious and unacceptable. After I complied, the guard didn't even watch the cart. He stood there texting on his phone, ignoring the very area he claimed needed monitoring. I have photos showing this, along with proof of my previous visits. When I asked him repeatedly to show me where to safely place my cart, he just yelled "over there, over there" without pointing, guiding, or providing any clarity. His behaviour was unprofessional, hostile, and completely inappropriate -- especially toward a child. I reported this to the manager, Ashley, who immediately tried to shift blame onto a "third party" instead of taking responsibility for the conduct of the people working inside her store. That response alone speaks volumes. I have filed a complaint with the BBB. I will not return, and I will not expose my child to a security guard who behaves aggressively toward customers. *************************************************If you have items to donate, consider giving them away directly or holding a garage sale -- do not support a "non‑profit" that treats people this poorly while making significant profit off donated goods.***************************************************************************************************************** I will be posting this review, along with the photos and timestamps, everywhere I can so the public knows exactly what happened and who this store chooses to hire and support . It is not the clientel. Absolutely done with this place.
