I snapped the pic of this business as soon as I stepped out of my car. I'd been directed to this place from yet another local print shop who couldn't help me (I needed a printed t-shirt for an event), and suddenly I found myself looking at this insane abode sandwiched in an otherwise totally bland residential area. And when Kyle - the moustached artistic architect of the biz - answered the door, I quickly found out about one of this city's best kept secrets. The interior of the home is as colorful as the exterior, but I kept the phone cam down out of respect for privacy. Kyle ushered me to a spiral staircase that led to his domain, a huge print den. Along the way I asked, purely for small talk purposes, if he was a Breaking Bad fan. Laughing, he handed me a parking pass for the crew, "You can keep this. It's from the final season." Then he handed me original Los Pollos Hermanos labels, bright yellow, which he designed and printed for the show. I was kinda speechless. Kyle never advertises; his success has come strictly word-of-mouth, and for good reason. I liked my shirt and loved his efficiency, it was done just hours after I contacted him. I told him that Yelp was essentially the essence of online word-of-mouth, and he was psyched to see that he already had a business page. Hopping back into my car, I took a second look at that label he gave me. I checked the ingredients for the fry batter, and found these on the list: chicken semen, chicken faces, and methylamine. Beautiful and witty designs from a Navajo artist that isn't doing the typical tourist styles, but uniquely expressive stuff. We had also just thought of a great slogan and I said, " I wonder if they could print shirts for us with the logo on it." I walked over to inquire and Jacob greeted me. He explained the cost, set-up, etc. He was happy to print off a quote for me. I walked back over and explained the situation. Everyone was on board! I was able to get all shirt sizes and then walk back to Guerrilla Graphix to place my order. I was able to pick out the font and get a final confirmation of what the shirt looked like. I pre-paid and waited for the notification to pick up next day. Picking up the order was such a blast! Everyone loved their shirts and we even printed off two onesies. The service was awesome! Jacob and his team did a great job. I love supporting local small businesses no matter where I am. They have lots of pre-printed shirts, stickers, magnets, hats, and great slogans.
