I originally bought my Weber grill from the Fireplace and Grill Shop in downtown Kalamazoo, but they no longer sell Weber. I needed some replacement igniters and figured Ace Hardware would be my best bet. I first went to my local Ace Hardware and explained what I needed. Basically, I was told, "Nope, sorry, there's nothing we can do." So I tried another Ace in the next town over and got pretty much the exact same answer along with another hardware store that is not an Ace Hardware. Then I called Ace Hardware in Texas Corners and spoke with Rick. What a completely different experience. Rick didn't just tell me he couldn't help or send me on my way. He took the time to look into it, worked on finding the igniters, and actually contacted Weber on my behalf. He ended up getting Weber to cover the ENTIRE manifold assembly under warranty! When the new manifold came in, Rick called me to let me know it was there. I picked it up, got everything back together, and now my grill is almost like new again. Rick absolutely went above and beyond when two other stores had already told me there was nothing they could do. He could have easily done the same thing, but instead he took ownership of the problem and figured out a solution. That's what customer service is supposed to be. Rick was absolutely amazing, and Ace Hardware in Texas Corners has earned my business because of him. I'll gladly drive a little farther to shop at a place that takes care of its customers like this. I found exactly what I was looking for (something for pet hair). I told the guy who pointed me to where the sweepers were that I would take that one. He took the one of the shelf. When I said "oh, it doesn't come in a box" and he said, "we always put one together so you don't have to when you get home". How cool is that. I didn't have to deal with reading instructions, recycling the cardboard box, etc. I rolled my new sweeper out the door, drove home, and the vacuum (a Hoover) worked like a charm. I've also had the same experience there with my dehumidifier and a refrigerator. Easy shopping, stress free (no pushy sales people), and supporting small business!
