I feel extremely distraught in doing this, because I have never written a negative review in my life before. Especially with someone I have been going to for years, promoted, sent my family and loved ones to, and was very pleased with the service they provided. I respect Jessica a lot and what she is creating with her business as a single mother and owner for her son, and herself. That being said, I do feel like I was very mislead and mistreated in this situation. I was looking for someone to color my girlfriend's hair and to have it done as a valentines gift before the date arrived. I brought it up as a talking point for my regular weekly hair cut (I have seen Jessica for almost a year regularly, and have known her and had my hair done by her almost 3 years now, when she worked at Gents) she said she had been a "color specialist for 7 years before becoming a full time barber. I trusted her. I respected her. I loved the work that she did on my hair and I agreed to send my girlfriend to her. My lady has very think, long, and black hair. We sent her pictures and were quoted a price of 150$ that session turned into a 200$. I then received a text of getting my girl back in for her second session before valentines, after we were told we should wait 6 weeks before the next session, and I said great, if we could do it before valentines that would be ideal and my next haircut we scheduled her for 9:30-1pm appointment a week ahead of time at a quoted price of 240$. That session lasted from 9:30-5:30pm and cost 320$ with a 20% tip. For a total of 580$. I do not know hair. I do not know the process. If it cost 600$ and she loved it, then great. I would have loved it. But, this was the result and these are the responses I got from her after my concern with how it turned out. These pictures were what we were going for and what we presented her and then today the conversation that issued. My family and myself have been blacklisted from her business and my girlfriend and I were blocked from her page almost immediately. The first picture is my initial text to her concerning the service. We have never had any issues or disputes before. As I said, I have praised this business. Was a very generous tipper, and respected Jessica very much. I did not expect this. This is by far the best experience I've ever had cutting my hair. Jess is the best stylist I've ever had the pleasure of visiting. She amazed me with how quickly she could understand exactly what I wanted to do with my hair, she was extremely professional, and she made sure that I felt safe given the Covid times that we are currently living in. As well as being the nicest cut that I've ever received, she also got through it faster than I think I've ever had my hair cut while maintaining great conversation. In the past, other stylists have had to take a second or third or fourth pass at my hair because I wasn't happy with what they did the first time, but Jess seemed to know exactly what I was going for and exuded confidence throughout. As a first time customer she made sure to extend services that would normally cost more, for free. The price of the haircut is comparable to what you would pay at a great clips or sports clips but the quality of the cut is leagues beyond. I plan to only ever get my hair cut here from now on and my girlfriend was so happy with how I looked that she is planning to visit Jess very soon. Jess has a lot of experience cutting both men's and women's hair; she explained to me that she also has grown up around cutting military haircuts her whole life as well so her skills really do range the entire spectrum of hair styling. I left feeling so confident that I immediately took a walk around town applying for different jobs. If you're going to get your haircut, get it cut here. You won't regret it! read more

I recently had a rather unsettling experience at this barbershop. Upon walking in, I was immediately struck by the tense atmosphere. The shop owner was loudly berating one of her employees in the middle of a service, clearly upset about something. It escalated quickly, and when the employee tried to defend himself, she called the cops. I couldn't believe what I was witnessing. The whole situation felt uncomfortable, especially as I was there as a client. It was hard not to feel sympathy for the employee, who seemed to be caught in a very difficult position. Based on this experience, I would advise potential customers to reconsider visiting this establishment. The owner's anger issues and apparent need for control create a toxic environment. Save yourself the stress and look for a barbershop where both clients and employees are treated with respect. read more
