Hello "potential" clients of NEMA Photography! I wanted to take a moment to say a little something, something... As a photographer, I have a certain eye that seems to bring out the best in people. But as a self-proclaimed strobist I wanted to do something with more natural light. No matter how many times I took my family out (equiped with a tripod & self-timer set on my camera) for random sessions... I just couldn't get the right shot that captured us at our very best. And because of this, my wife grew very impatient with me many times ((shakes head )) Then I remembered a story once told from one of my favorite photographer's (Jasmine Starr) which hit very close to my heart. She offered this suggestion, "As a photographer (business person), try and put yourself in the shoes of your clients and be the subject... Step back and be in the moment." To make a long story short, I contacted Mar (& Edmond) in an attempt to surprise my wife for a unique MOTHER'S DAY present. Nema Photagraphy is one of the best photographers I've met. We used Nema Photobooth 1st for our Wedding. Throughout the entire process of designing our layout for our personalized backdrop, Marlana and Edmond responded to all of my questions and emails so quickly. I never even had a single hestitation chosing them for our photobooth even though our wedding venue was in the OC and they were located in San Diego. Marlana also wanted to meet up with us a month before the wedding to get to know us as a couple....How awesome was that with the busy schedule that everyone has now a days. Nema exceeded our expectations and all of our guests loved our photobooth because it was very unique and one of a kind....unlike the conventional typical booths you had to go into to take pictures with the cramped space and limited room that can only accommodate at a maximum 4 people. To our pleasant surprise Nema created a photo card with our picture to be given to our guests if they wanted to know where to go check out their photos on Nema's website. Others would have just printed stickers instead. Small personal touches like this go a long way and this is the type of QUALITY you will get with Nema. We were estatic with the outcome of our photobooth and the slideshow compilation that Marlana took time to create BLEW US AWAY! Our input and ideas were top of mind with Mar and Ed. It's all in the presentation, right? When we received the entire disc with a quick turnaround time, I was very delighted with the packaging. It was elegantly prepared with the photo disc, an unexpected thank you note topped by a beautiful bow tie. I'm a detailed oriented person and Nema definitely pays attention to the details. They also LISTEN to their client needs, which most photographers fail to do. Mar and Ed so are dope and geniuine they have actually become a friend to us through out the process and the after session. My wedding was July 2011 and until now, I have kept in contact with Marlana via phone, text, email and the Nema Facebook page!!! Marlana understands "us" Brides and she puts herself in our shoes. A coworker recommended NEMA as he had used them for his surprise engagement photos, as well as had Mar and Edmond booked for his upcoming wedding. His engagement photos looked great so I took a look at the rest of the photo blog and loved what I saw! Since we were having our wedding at the SD County Clerks, I was especially interested to see that Mar and Edmond had experience with the location and had taken wonderful photos there before. After shooting them an email (they respond SO quickly!) and having a consultation phone call with Mar (we live in SF, NEMA is in SD, so a phone call was all we were able to get in before the date), we were good to go. As I'm not a wedding fanatic, nor did I have a "dream wedding" imagined in my mind, Mar was able to really take direction when the day came. She let us know what was going to happen at the County Clerks office and took great photos of the family while they were in the waiting room. Once outside, Mar and Edmond captured fantastic shots of the family and then took us off to different locations to do our photo shoot. Despite having just met them, we were super comfortable with them and I think that they are husband and wife adds to experience as they understand the bliss a couple is feeling right after the vows :) We got some beautiful shots from Mar and Edmond - select photos were up on their Facebook/blog and our private album link was up within 4 days! We had the pleasure of having our family portrait session with NEMA Photography. This was by far the best session we have ever had with photographers and will be definitely using them in the future. Edmond and Marlena are an up and coming Photography team. They did our wedding for us and the photos came out amazing. If you've never done a photo booth with them, I also highly recommend looking at their work. There is no enclosure so you can fit more people in the picture. The lighting they use is amazing so everyone looks stunning. The after slideshow with the music was our favorite thing post wedding to watch.
