I'd been over to the big box stores day before and everyone who knew anything was "on lunch for another 20 minutes". Was immediately greeted by a lovely mustachioed man named Martin (thank you again, Martin!). He walked me through what I needed to do and guided me around the various aisles picking up parts. You could feel the difference in the confidence and expertise of the employees here (this is the first small hardware store I've been to for projects)- they're professional, hardware nerds! Martin even had that goofy sense of humor so not only was the trip very efficient, it was quite fun. Which, is not something you get to say often about errands. oh! they even had fresh buttered popcorn at the registers :)

I expressed concern to both Maria and her son that the blade on the unit was wore out. Tom's son told me he would give me a replacement blade and the tools to replace it. The edger was crap- blade worn out. 114 degree heat index, I took a break then tried to replace the blade. Problem- the tools didn't fit- and Tom's son charged me over 9 dollars for the blade! When I called two days later & had a very nice conversation with the day manager, he informed me that wearing masks were , "at the discretion of the employees." I politely stated I really didn't like wearing a mask either, but the national and global pandemic with recent spikes were quite alarming.
