His team was able to start immediately and finished within a week. They did extensive prep work and repaired dry rot throughout. Before paint went up I requested 2 changes - to paint the brick on the facade so that it blends with the house and to go dark with the body color of the garage. They were able to accommodate both without any delay, and we are loving the results. I had Joe and his team paint our two story home in Modesto about 2 years ago. I contacted him for a quote and he was over within a couple days to assess the house and gave me a quote shorly thereafter. They were here for three days, used just over 40 gallons of paint and even left us some for touch ups - we replaced some exterior lights on the house this year so that was super helpful!!. They sealed up some cracks we had (house is over 20 years old with the same paint) and made repairs to some of the wood awnings at the roof. These guys did not mess around. Our house is large, and they put in some quality work. We are so happy with it. I'll be contacting his crew again when we need a refresh, and if we're ever wanting to repaint the interior (3,400 sf). Where to start? So I'm shocked to read the other reviews, because my experience was completely different. We got our cabinets painted by Nervis Painting back in Oct '21 - (however I'm a mom and life is fast I'm barely able to put my kitchen together for before and afters.) He painted our cabinets and even went above and beyond to install the cabinet handles I purchased. The screws that came with the handles were too short for the cabinet thickness, so he went out to get bigger ones, those were then too big - so he cut each screw to fit, on top on measuring that they were centered. Excellent Work, Professional & Efficient! Joe and his team rescued a kitchen cabinet project being done incorrectly by another contractor. Nervis Painting removed paint which had been applied incorrectly with no sanding or primer; after only a day it was lifting and peeling. They sanded, primed, and sanded again before beautifully applying a specific formula of paint that Joe recommended for cabinetry which dried to a glass like finish. It wasn't just a "cosmetic" paint job, the wood was treated inside and out for a great paint job. There was so much attention to detail that the cabinets look new. Joe also installed new hardware which was the finishing touch to the job. The timeline given was met and communication from beginning to end was great. Had Nervis paint the interior of our house, except for 2 of the 3 bedrooms. Also, they installed baseboards in one bedroom and the living room, dining room area. The quality of the paint job was poor, we ended up with a long list of mistakes; some mistakes were minor others were major. The new baseboards looked as if they were installed by an amateur. Needed interiors painted quickly before Dec 1st which was hard with the Thanksgiving holiday. Appreciate that they were able to squeeze us in and even help with some additional work (needed sheetrock where light fixtures were swapped out), but attention to detail was not great. Have paint on doorknobs, paint on new light fixtures, and they finished part of one room with the wrong color (slightly different off-white from the rest of the room). Joe Nervis is a joke, liar, lazy, and always work around things and hoping you didnt see it. He simply doesnt have the ability to offer a professional service and quality of a painter. He painted walls and cabinets for our rental property. What he said to be able to have a good result as good as new, it turned out to be much worse than before painting. I didnt believe him ehen he said "as good as new" but I thought the worst case from "as good as nee" should still be good. Ok to look at. Well, I was WRONG!! He painted over things (everything!!) adjacent to the walls... also he didnt really sand the cabinets and painted over it directly. He painted over the stainless steel appliances, handles, hinges, granite. Mannn... the list went on and on.. I saw him bringing tape but how come still painted over these things.. Worse he's intimidating us to get paid right away in full even when the job is not done!!! I dont think the other reviews that say good things about him are real. Even when a slight chance for it to be real, at the very least he could do a decent job or at least to become a decent person.. BUT he failed on both... so sad!!! Later on I found out he's not licensed and all. My mistake I wasn't diligent enough. I thought because I didn't need the result to be perfect, just barely pass was good enough for me. After all it's just for a rental property. But this is way too bad. He really shouldn't offer his service with that kind of skill ... and attitude! STAY AWAY from him. read more

Im writing this review for my mom. She had Joseph Nervis paint walls, doors, cabinets back in 2 bedroom condo back in September. She's old school obviously cant really write this review for herself. She was trying to prepare her house to have their children come visit on Thanksgiving but she didn't stop saying that she regretted painting the house because it made the house look very cheap now with the new paint that's not even done. Joe liked to boast his ability to paint everything very well with proper paint and good detail. HOWEVER, it is far from reality. He lied BIG TIME. Uneven brush strokes everywhere. Very messy job. Almost all of the hinges are all painted making it look really bad. So many paint dripping spots everywhere. And a lot of spots are not even painted. And Im pretty sure he even used wrong paint in some spots. He doesn't mind cutting corners, leave the hidden spots unpainted. And what made it worse, my mom paid the whole thing because Joe kept pressuring her. And Joe just rushed out after payment even though he hasn't really finished the job. Probably still like 10% still have not even been painted. And found out also he damaged furniture too in the process and tried to hide it. He didnt pick up calls from us anymore. He's nowhere to be found. He's a ghost once he got your payment. Do yourself a favor, save your hard earned money and find a legit business.
