The music and activities weren't good enough to justify me taking advantage of it in future years. They were good, just not good enough. Maybe football and fair season isn't the best time for the event to draw a crowd. I just went on Saturday. If the event planners are reading...find more stuff for people to do. Games etc for adults. Have better raffle prizes (candied popcorn really?) Also it's Smokin on the Rez and the logo has an alligator. Kind of confusing. I don't associate alligators with the Rez enough and I'd expect a pig for the Smokin part. As an event planner I rate this a flop. If it was free then maybe I'd have more stars, but not worth $10, and that's saying something. If you need ideas, message me, I've planned my share of successful community events. Hope it improves because it's a good idea. It needs a lot of work.

I will never go back!! I have always been a fan of the Mississippi State Fair!! The food was over…read morepriced and horrible!! I threw it away, tried something else and threw it away!! It was So Expensive!! I don't know how a family can afford to go!! I rode one ride, the ride that goes from one side of the fair to the other. You had to put money on a card to ride, and you had to pay $2 for the card, just to ride one ride. This is the worst experience ever!! I will definitely not go back!!

We started eating here probably 30 years ago when it was the OG. Mike always got the crawfish enchiladas and I got the habanero cream sauce pasta with grilled shrimp. He got fried shrimp tonight. The shrimp were jumbo and fried perfect. The "depot" fries are frozen crinkle cut. He subbed the Mac and cheese for the okra. It's more of a less sauce old fashioned Mac and cheese. I got my old habanero cream sauce pasta. It was served in the tiniest of bowls but the amount of food was good. Why not serve it in a normal sized dish? I would rather have the 4 jumbo shrimp they used to serve back in the day rather than the smallish medium shrimp. The sauce was thicker than I prefer but flavor was decent. I'll try something different next time. The cocktails were delicious. Again, the service and speed of things was incredible for a party of 17. My biggest negative was the music is ridiculously loud. Serving food to 17 people with that music was diabolical and we could not even visit. The group was great but the volume needs to be turned down. Def recommend for a large group but be prepared for music that is concert volume.
