FYI to all - this Nespresso Boutique no longer sells the capsules/ pods. ;_;
The Nespresso 'Boutique' in Myer is located on the third floor. You can catch a lift, or walk the escalator route up. Myer is located in the Myer Centre, which has it's own carpark (pay to park unless you check out the cheaper rate times, or nab the Christmas freebie special).
Ambience *
Up to the top floor of Myer to get there, expecting to see the Nespresso signs leading me to my destination only to find a small section in front of the Christmas/ Santa display with barely any signage at all. What happened?? I remember walking through here when the boutique first opened with wide eyes, amazed at the sleek looking mid centre stall they had. It's been completely minimalised, probably because of the boutique store on the Mall, and now only stocks the coffee machines. The air of superiority I've come to expect has gone, the stall itself majorly outshined by comparison of the Apple section over yonder.
I've been to the Nespresso section of the Harvey Norman out at Everton Park, and it was better manned and visible than this section of Myer. Expect about the same amount of department store space as you would see at a major electrical retailer.
Products on offer **
Well as the sign reads, there aren't any pods to buy here, so my only choice was to head back down all the escalators to weave my way through Christmas crowds back to the Mall boutique (in full fury form). The Myer store still has the machines, which means they must have the starter packs to go with them. If you're only after a machine at this stage, I would still consider coming here, because you're likely to get the same level of service and less crowd, however of course there would also be less staff to attend at a busy time. I didn't see any of the Nespresso cups or other 'add-ons' at this 'store' either, however they may be there.
Service ***
I assume the level of service on offer at the Myer store is still the same. I saw one (potential) customer being served by a Nespresso suited staff member, however didn't get close enough to check it out.
Additional notes
Gosh - in the middle of Christmas, there wasn't a worse time for me not to check the website or read my pamphlets before heading here.
Let's assume you've decided on Nespresso. If you're after elite treatment, beautiful store, shiny smiles and all the hub-bub, go to the Nespresso Boutique on Queen St Mall. If you know what you want and just want to get it now and without any added fuss, go to the Myer 'store' (I'm loathe to call it that) or head to a more local retailer. read more
