I was essentially double charged and have called three times so far without any assistance to reverse the charge. they keep saying they don't see the charge on their end but then note that this is a recurring issue with their POS system. incredibly frustrating with no customer support. This store is SO CUTE! A must stop in and at the very lease browse if you're a lover of all things home goods. They are also very dog friendly! Our pup is semi hyper and the store clerk was so kind and gracious with us, even offered up some dog treats!! Tons of their items (if not all) were local/handcrafted. I've had multiple bad experiences here, and so have other's who I know who've gone here and shopped. I will not bore you with the details of each experience, but to summarize: there is no customer service. They are rude. There is no welcoming environment to speak of. Each time I've gone in, I've been ignored by both women behind the counter - even after shopping around the store for a full 15 minutes. I've even walked up to ask a question and they've turned and gone the other way without acknowledgment of my presence. Nest Organics is one of the best stores in Asheville. Under new management, the owners are a delight. They are only interested in carrying the best products. The Savvy Rest mattress which is the bed line they carry is the best investment I have ever made. The other items in the store are all of the highest quality and the prices are reasonable for the quality of the goods. EXPENSIVE! I purchased a knit hat, booties and a wooden rattle for my girlfriend's newborn. $81 They do have unique items, local and hand made and of course organic. I expect to pay more for that, but the prices are still VERY EXUBERANT. The boutique is nicely sized, but the overall selection is limited. The staff person was friendly and wanted to be helpful. We went to Nest to check out NaturePedic beds. We worked with Drew who was super knowledgeable about the bed brands, options, etc. We spent well over an hour there and he was patient and helpful. In fact, we were there past closing and he never said a word when most place rush you out. We opted to think about it because it was such a large purchase and when I came back a week later, drew remembered me, my name, and the bed we had discussed purchasing. Two weeks after the purchase, they called to follow up and make sure everything arrived and we were satisfied. That kind of service is above and beyond and just doesn't happen anymore and it caught me off guard in the best way! read more

Nest Organics is a great concept in an even better location on Lexington Ave. in downtown Asheville. I've been in a few times and made a few purchases. The items are way overpriced and I've never left feeling elated about my purchase. The staff there are unfriendly and sometimes downright rude. I had a great experience here. I personally think that the staff is very friendly and well informed about all of their products, and their prices are actually very reasonable for these kinds of products. Eco-friendly, organic products that are good for the environment and for your home are usually very expensive, so one has to expect to spend a little more than just buying conventional. I ordered an eco-friendly crib from them which I am very excited about, it was the least expensive one of it's kind that I found anywhere. Just real wood, unfinished, no particle board or anything that would off-gas. I also bought the crib mattress there because the owners knew so much about mattresses for cribs and it is really confusing doing research about it. Unfortunately I don't live in Asheville, or I would shop there more often. read more

I would like to update my review to reflect positive contact that I've had with the store owners since posting my original review. First, they said that they would've happily replaced the compost container and that they stand by their products 100%. Secondly, they apologized that I felt slighted by the staff working in the store on the day that I visited. It is good to know that Nest Organics is in touch with the Yelp community and took the time to reach out to me in particular. It's clear that they are always working to provide better service and wonderful experiences in their store, and since that's "A-OK" in my book, I am changing my review to 3 stars. We had the best experience when shopping for our mattress at Nest. Our salesperson was so well informed that it really helped us know our options and feel good about this investment. Not only did we learn about the quality of the mattress we were shopping for, we also got to try out the mattresses in the many various configurations in the store before finalizing our decision. The staff is hospitable and very easy to work with. We were lucky to be shopping on Columbus Day and were able to take advantage of some additional promotions and offerings. And, fortunately, our mattress showed up much sooner than expected. It's been several weeks and we're sleeping much more soundly. We're so glad we gave Nest Organics a try and will definitely be back! read more

We purchased a Savvy Rest organic mattress from Nest. Drew spent well over an hour helping us choose the particular level of firmness that fit our preferences and sleeping styles. He even rearranged some of the mattresses to let us try different options. We also bought a custom bed frame to match. He remembered us by name when we went back to the store to pick it up and then called after a week or two to check our satisfaction with the product. Great customer service and commitment. read more

The lady who was there welcomed me, but didn't offer any assistance while I shopped. I never asked for help though and she was pleasant when checking out. I also found the merchandise to be VERY OVERPRICED. It was possible to find the same items in and around Asheville at nearly HALF the price quoted by Nest Organics. I love this store! I come to Asheville once a year and this store is always on my to do list. They have the BEST infant and toddler items. Great for baby gifts. The selection is simply beautiful to explore and there is a kids play area to keep your little ones occupied. This year I bought the most beautiful print for my children's room which was very reasonably priced. I will be sad when my kids outgrow this store but there is also a wonderful grown up section with beautiful organic fibers and products. read more

My husband and I were "baby-mooning" in Asheville, NC this past weekend and thought it would be fun to shop at all the local baby boutiques in the area. We arrived at Nest Organics at 11am, right when they opened. I was the only customer in the whole store, yet the lady working barely acknowledged me from behind her computer. After shopping for a few minutes, I asked if they had a bathroom I could use (being 6.5 months pregnant, I have to go often). The employee/owner(?) didn't even look up at me from behind her computer but just gave a curt reply "No." I was a bit taken aback that she was so short and rude but continued my shopping. Less than a minute later, I came to a door that was clearly a bathroom that had a sign "for pregnant women and children only". I spoke up to her across the room and said "Excuse me, is this not a bathroom for pregnant women" while pointing to my clearly-pregnant belly. She looked caught off guard and said I could use it. I saw several very nice items while I was shopping there and honestly would have purchased a few things had the service not been so down right bad. I refuse to spend my money in stores where the customers are valued so little. It truly is sad considering I was her target population - pregnant and ready to spend my money on items I don't have access to in my smaller town. read more

The shop is nicely set up, with a good selection of products (I thought it was great that they even had a used section!) The staff were very friendly. The reason this store gets such a low review is because of their return policy. They don't allow returns-only exchanges. I bought a dress one day, and upon taking it home, realized it didn't fit my daughter. I took it back the next day, and they refused to give me my money back. I don't shop at stores like this, because I like to have the option to return things if they don't work/fit. Even more irritating is the fact that they allow returns if you buy from them online! read more

I am an Asheville local and I have shopped at Nest Organics on many occasions. I have never been thrilled with their selection of home goods or baby/kid stuff but they have certain things that we have wanted for our children so I have stopped in there. I have always questioned how they stay in businness with such a great location but such a minimal choice of products. However, after my recent experience I will NEVER be shopping there again. I purchased a product from them and realized shortly thereafter that I did not need it. I had never opened the product and had an original receipt. I went to return the product to find out that they DO NOT DO ANY RETURNS AT ALL!! They have never told me this policy in all my trips there and the policy is not posted clearly for you to see it. I was told that it says no returns on the receipt (which is not helpful as it would be too late since I had already purchased the product before I got my receipt) and she pointed to a lengthy paragraph on a postcard size piece of paper to the side of the cash register that indicates no returns. They will only do exchanges or store credit and state that it is because they are a "small family owned store." This is completely unacceptable to me and I feel that it should be posted largely and clearly if they are unwilling to give any returns. Having a store credit to a store that has minimal products in useless. There are plenty of small businesses that issue refunds (since you can resell the merchandise!) so I do not feel their explanation of being a "small family run business" is acceptable. I will be shopping at the Littlest Birds for all my future baby and kid needs. Just say no to poor customer service!! read more

The staff were completely rude and seemed uninformed about the products they were selling. I was completely disappointed with their customer service. I asked the woman a simple question: "Where does the organic cotton come from?" The lady seemed taken off guard and stumbled with her response for a few seconds until I finally got a response: "India." I then proceeded to ask her about the certification process with organic cotton in India. She told me it was "complicated," and that I needed to "look it up myself." I was shocked at her response and how unwilling she was to help me out. As a customer and soon to be father, it is my right to know where they get their cotton and how it is handled, especially if my daughter is to interact with this material. After that, the lady refused to answer any of my questions and proceeded to call me arrogant and told me to leave. There was another worker in the store that chimed in and started to brag about how much they "know about the products they sell," yet she wasn't able to answer my question either. They both literally laughed at me and told me to leave or they would call the police. As a vendor, it is your duty to be fully informed on the products you sell. This included knowing about the materials they are made out of, where they came from, and how they were handled in the process, especially when you put the label "organic" on it. The very fact that I ask questions like this doesn't make me "arrogant," it just means I'm inquisitive and would like to be informed on the products I buy. I really want to support local businesses around the area, but with customer service like this and the mile high prices, I would honestly be better off buying online.
