What a fantastic supermarket. I stopped in to see what this was all about after seeing ads for it. They have fantastic fresh produce and some very unique finds that you won't get in your typical grocery store. It has lots of Eastern European products along with a fresh bakery and fresh prepared foods aisle. Some products are cheaper than say Publix and others were more expensive. But you won't find some of the European ethnic foods like a gazillion types of sardines and olives, and pickled products to choose from in your mainstream grocery. If you are looking for a certain European grocery item, chances are they will have it here. They even have a fresh fish section. It's freezing in here so bring a jacket/sweater. I really enjoyed browsing the aisles making note of some hard to find items for my next culinary adventure. The aisles are very narrow however so best to come early in the morning at opening. NetCost has certainly improved since they open. Most of the staff has gotten friendlier & are better at speaking English to those of us who do not speak their language. The past couple of times I have been there, the check out person, Marck has been very pleasant, always smiles & interacts better than anyone I've dealt with there. NetCost Market was founded in 2000 by Sam and Eduard Shnayder in Brooklyn, NY. It was an extension of their 1997 wholesale business, Royal Seafood Baza. From the first Brooklyn location they expanded to New Jersey, throughout New York, and across the northeast. It has since grown into a major international grocery chain specializing in Eastern European, Russian, and Eurasian goods with over 45,000 products. I recently had the opportunity to visit this NetCost Market in the Oakwood Plaza in Hollywood, Florida. If you join the free NetCost market Club you can unlock special deals and discounts. I was impressed with how bright and spotless this store is. Everywhere I looked there was someone cleaning, sweeping, and straightening. NetCost has the typical pantry staples you would expect to find but I was drawn to the colorful produce section with unexpected finds like mandarin oranges wit the stems and leaves for $2.49 a pound and dainty little lady apples for $3.99 a pound. Throughout the store their dumpling fest was being advertised for $3.49 a pound. The bakery and hot prepared foods department looked enticing, especially the cabbage rolls. It was nice to see some many foods from my Polish ancestry represented. In the front of the store is a coffee shop with a seating area and more delectable pastries for sale. I love exploring world markets and this was one of the cleanest and nicest I have come across. If I lived local i would be a regular shopper, especially on nights when I don't feel like cooking dinner. The Hollywood community is lucky to have such a great food shopping resource. read more

I like going to different kinds of ethnic markets and seeing all the people unique things they offer and sometimes buying and trying new things. NetCost Market originally started as a market to serve the Eastern European immigrant community, but has since grown into a market offering products from international suppliers to serve the general population as a whole. Located in Oakwood Plaza, it's right near Old Navy with plenty of parking in the lot. There a security guard up front and he was very nice, greeting everyone as they walked in. The first thing you see when you walk in is the product department and the produce there. I walked around looking at items and saw so many interesting things. I think I saw about 15 different kinds of caviar and so many kinds of salmon! What was really cool about this place was all the different food bars they had set up. They had everything it seemed like! Fish, pasta, cold salads, cakes, pastries and just so many things! I bought a little bit of the Greek salad because it looked like it had what appeared to be huge chunks of feta cheese, I wasn't a fan because it definitely wasn't feta cheese. That had one aisle that half of it was just different kinds of loose chocolate and candy that you could buy by the pound but it was hard to know what the actual candy was because the descriptions were in what appeared to be Russian. The prices here are a bit higher than what I've seen in other grocery stores and the staff that I interacted were very nice and the store was very clean. read more

First NetCost Market in Florida and another opening in Miami. This supermarket is similar to Sedanos with a strong emphasis on fresh vibrant multi cultural foods. They provide a QR Code to scan and sign up for a free store membership to receive daily discounts. The front of the store had a Pep Cafe and a Gourmanoff Bistro with many tables to enjoy a meal or treat. I ordered a cranberry chocolate cookie from the cafe. The well organized supermarket originated in New York and the staff were mostly Ukrainian with a language barrier with a few, although all smiles during every one of my interactions. read more

I added this business to Yelp when I first saw the coming soon signs posted on their marquee and in the windows. In the Oakwood Plaza with plenty of parking and near other retailers we frequently shop. When this store finally did open and we were in the plaza we stopped in after our other shopping. Walking around the well-stocked and well maintained aisles, you will see Eastern European items and hear Eastern European conversations amongst the staff. While trying to decide on which cheese and pastries to buy I found out that by pointing and gesturing I was able to get what I wanted. (Russian is not one of my acquired languages) I did find some of my favorite NY Empire apples that were firm and pricing was not too bad. Lots of produce to choose from in this area of the huge store. The bright lighting, cleanliness and well merchandised items make the experience a pleasant as well educational one. A shopper could spend hours traversing the aisles of intriguing food items, and candies. A lot of the food can be eaten right away or taken home and reheated for a delicious home cooked style meal. Being in a predominately tourist area of Hollywood/Dania they should do well here and also offer some different lunch choices to those who work in the plaza. read more

This is similar to a few other Eastern European international markets that have popped up recently. The store is located in the Oakwood plaza not far from Marshall's. It is large but with aisles just big enough for two carts to pass. You will hear a lot of non English spoken here. Except for a few of the cashiers, most of the staff does not speak English well. We tried to find out how to cook or re-heat a few of the food items and it took three people to respond. And then I said thank you and looked it up online. The produce section is quite pretty. Prices are a tad high on most items but some prices are comparable. We got some of my husband's favorite apples and they were quite good. And decently priced. Shelved items are interesting to browse. You will see many "new" to Florida brands. Some of the jars, cans, and containers are in Russian (?) with no English. Luckily most have labeled shelf tabs although not all s use the pictures as a guide. There's a large section of cheeses, cold cuts, bakery items, and prepared foods behind a counter and in a "salad bar". Some items are charged by weight and some by the piece. There are a lot of different types of pierogis and dumplings -- fresh, frozen, and/or cooked. We bought a larger dough shaped variety with ground lamb to try. If your pocketbook can handle it, there are several different varieties of caviar and smoked fishes (including lox salmon). We heard a few gasps from fellow shoppers... Although we didn't buy much -- as most things were beyond our budget, it was still interesting to browse. And it was educational to learn about foods from this part of the world. read more

Pretty neat East European supermarket. They have regular + international fruits and veggies, and then a whole big section of European goods. I really loved their fresh bar area. They had hot items, they had cold items. They had prepared salads and fresh baked goods! Such an awesome find! Located in oakwood shops with lots of parking. I would not recommend doing your usual grocery shopping here as some items can be very expensive (for example standard domino sugar was 5.99) but for unique finds from Europe this is your place! My husband loved the selection of beers from Europe. We got meats for Easter Sunday including polish sausages. The olive selection was impressive and the hummus from Greece was out of this world. On my first visit to this location, I paid $13 for a seeded watermelon. Cut it open a couple days later and it was rotten. Took it back to the store and they refused to give me a refund. So overall, f*ck NetCost Market and its management staff. I will not be returning. And I really thought that I was gonna enjoy shopping there because I love international grocery stores. If you shop here be sure to read the receipt because I didn't, lesson learned. They have a 24 hour return policy on produce and perishables. No one eats everything they buy from the grocery store within 24 hours. read more

Just in town before a cruise but wanted some basic groceries to get through the night and take on board, so I stopped in here. The assortment of product was impressive for a relatively small store and the prices and quality were fairly good. While I didn't really check the place out as if doing a whole shopping session, I found the basic things I needed and didn't have any trouble getting in and out. read more

Decided to check this place outa few days before Christmas, so it was certainly busy with a slightly longer-than-anticipated wait time for checkout. That doesn't take away from the excitement of the visit, or the incredible sight of an entire aisle full of various pickled items. They have a solid produce section with competitive prices, everything was neatly and clearly labeled. I did not have a chance to peruse all of their aisles of dry goods, but I was encouraged by the few that I went down. I don't speak Russian and a lot of the food labels are in Russian or other Cyrillic languages, but Google will be handy to help translate. On the opposite side of the store from produce is a bakery and hot item section akin to Whole Foods' pay-by-the-pound hot bar. Here they had chicken breasts, cabbage rolls, various vegetables, and many sides I've never heard of, all fresh and ready to take home and enjoy immediately. The wall on the end of the store is all baked items: breads, rolls, pastries, muffins, etc. In between were aisles of packaged goodies like baklava and other cakes and sweets. Overall, the store is clean, well-organized, with plenty of variety of options to choose from. The cashiers were friendly and patient, especially noteworthy in the midst of chaotic last-minute holiday shopping. I am excited to return. read more

How fun to find a large international food market, tucked into a shopping center among Marshall's and Old Navy. The prepared food bars containing hot dishes and cool salads are mouth-watering. After being disappointed at Whole Foods, which doesn't stock whole foods anymore, I found the oat groats, buckwheat, millet, and other whole grains that I was looking for at NetCost. I used my GoogleTranslate App to read the labels and joined the free price club to get the discounted prices. The prices for some items here are great, but high for others. (That's why 4 stars instead of 5) Wonderful dairy selection, with yogurts, farmer cheese, kefir. The meat department was carving a whole roasted suckling pig in the deli area with samples offered! Come on a weekend and you'll join lovely Eastern European families out on a shopping trip here. You'll find things here you won't find most other places. read more

When I saw a melon that looked great for $3.49 I bought it and to my surprise they charged me $8.70 right after cashier asked me if I was a member . I had a very disappointing experience with a delivery order. I ordered two caviars, but neither of them was delivered, even though the order was marked as completed and delivered. I paid $25 in total for delivery, service fees, and tip, so this made the situation even more frustrating--especially since caviar is a premium, expensive item. Management initially promised to investigate the issue and reached out to me twice, but never followed up with a resolution. I eventually had to chase them myself. When I finally spoke to a manager, they could not answer basic questions about how the caviar was packed or whether it was placed in a separate cold/hot bag. The lack of accountability, follow-through, and clarity was very disappointing. Marking an incomplete order as delivered and then failing to properly resolve it is unacceptable. This experience has made me hesitant to order again. read more

Located in the Oakwood shopping plaza, this new market was interesting but maybe a bit deceiving based on the name alone. I guess I was expecting more of a discount store. Instead I would say this is more of a European market with many specialty items and fresh premade options. There is ample parking but it you may have to walk a bit as the lot is large. The fresh produce looked very nice but was more priced in line with Publix than Walmart (not net cost lol). There are many aisles of shelves stocked well with more items than you can imagine. Staff was around all over the store stocking shelves, cleaning, answering questions, etc. Mainstream (or American items) seemed to be priced at no bargain while it seemed that more of the import items seemed to be better priced here than at other more mainstream markets. Their premade food and bakery sections were huge and intriguing. There were definitely some items that require a google search to translate and find out what's in it. We weren't heading straight home so I wasn't fully able to commit to shopping but I would like to return to try some of the premade items and maybe even the frozen Serbian dumplings (after I look up what they are). read more

Curiosity got the better of me. I was nearby and wanted to try. I used to really enjoy the shops in Oakwood Plaza. This supermarket looked interesting. If you like Russian and East European food this if for you, especially if you can read the languages. I'm not sure if the prices are good or not. There are also lots of prepared foods at ok prices. I tried the beef manti (dumpling) and the 1/2 duck at $12.99 per pound. They were both quite good. Check your receipt, however. When I got home I found I'd been charged twice for one product. Luckily I had work that way again (about 25 miles from home) and was able get it correctly - after they took about 15 minutes checking the video! I'll only stop agan if I'm in the vicinity. read more

European New York based market. They've lots of interesting items that you don't find in a regular market of course. They have fresh produce, deli, hot foods, fresh seafood, bakery, and a very small section for non-food related household essential items like detergent, toiletries, etc. Many of the products don't have English writing. You'd need to possibly ask an employee for help with any items you're interested in. Our cashier, Elena, is from Serbia. She was very friendly and lighthearted. My mother immediately formed a bond with her. We were very impressed with the prices of many items that we normally get at other markets. One thing we really appreciated - they were open Christmas day, until 9PM! That day was very busy and happy that they were open when it seemed like everything else was closed. Another thing I was impressed by was their floral arrangements. The bouquets were beautiful!! Haven't seen arrangements like these in other stores. read more

Great products!! Worst customer service. Elena checked us out and Kerry bagged our groceries. They forgot to give us one bag and gave it to next customer. We sat there few feet away from register and ate deli food then left got home noticed 9 items(1 bag missing) called and Oleg was a jerk !! He said "sorry we see that on cameras bags next to cashier and bagger but next person in line after you took it". No trying to make it right or offering products or refund. This wouldn't happen at any other market. They will lose our business and back to Euroland or American market. read more

I was excited to hear that they opened a store 10 minutes away. Great selection of prepared foods, especially the pistachio muffins which are addicting. The one problem I personally ran into is, I would get sick after eating anything from their prepared food area, from the Buckwheat with no salt to anything and everything that they put oil into which is probably 99% of their foods. In fact, even the pistachio muffins would get my wife and I sick. Obviously, they must be using cheap seed or vegetable oils that would leave a film of oil in my mouth till the next day. It would take 3-4 days to recover each time and finally was able to pinpoint their food as the problem each time. In addition, everything is salted to death and if you watch your sodium intake, this is the wrong foods to eat. Every time I ate their foods, my BP would raise 10 - 15 points. Unfortunately, it appears that you need a steel lined gut to consume their foods. read more

I got some produce and was walking around checking out the store when I walked by the meat department, in the display case there were three baby pigs cooked and laying there on display! It was horrible!! I put back the produce and left. I will not be going back there. read more
