We messaged/emailed a couple of DJs and Mike (the only one) asked if we could have a short call to talk through what we wanted. Literally 30 seconds into the conversation, I knew we found the right person. Mike was so calm, so organized, he took our all over the place thoughts, organized them, AND fit them all together despite them being multiple genres and age groups.... Mike was the consummate professional and kept in contact with us up to the day, showed up two hours early for setup and sound check, and also was incredibly approachable for anyone that wanted to hear ANYTHING else on the playlist. Mike gave us music, lights, shout outs, and we made several obligatory speeches. Mike handled everything sound related, kept us organized, and kept people moving for the entire party. Prior to the ceremony, there's an online form to fill out that covers every possible base. What kinds of songs, any special details... There's so much there, neatly organized, and I was thankful for it. I'd never have thought about a lot of those! A couple weeks prior, JJ called to verify information and nail it all down so we could all be on the same page. The team is very thorough and I really appreciated all the time and effort Travis and JJ put into making sure we had everything planned out. JJ worked very well with not only us but the entire vendor team. He fit right in with the other vendors who already knew one another from working together so often. He listened to the crowd very well, playing a good variety of music. All of our guests complimented us on our musical selection whether they were younger or older, which says a lot! JJ chose fantastic oldies and classics before getting into the dance tunes (even tossing in a few hair band selections for yours truly). My travel-minded friends doubled over with laughter when JJ playing the National Geographic theme song to announce our honeymoon plans to Antarctica. Overall he did a wonderful job providing all the music to keep the celebration hopping all night! He is truly a professional...which is the main reason we went with them. Professional gear, demeanor, website, references...all of that! Dealing with Fonix was a breeze. They have an online system where you can fill out your 'application' and pick out the music and details you want. You can change on the fly and make changes at any point. This made everything very easy for us. We met with the Travis several times and had a final phone call a week before our event to discuss all the details. We chose to include Karaoke at the reception which was no problem for Fonix. They had a huge catalog to choose from the price was excellent. Travis was professionally dressed and did a great job managing the reception. He kept people on the dance floor, kept people at the karaoke station and just helped create a seamless transition from one event to the other. I would recommend these guys to anyone needing a DJ. Due to the pandemic, DJ Mello did express some financial setbacks but also offered to refund his client her security deposit. Months have passed and nothing! After several weeks of reaching out, DJ Mello and my friend came to a repayment agreement and then he blocked her on all of his social medias in attempt to get rid of her. If you never planned on refunding the security deposit, he should have been honest and upfront. It isn't good business practice to say you're going to do something and then don't. Would not recommend Update: You have receipts as does my friend. Again, why say you would give the money back if you had no plans to do so? And who gives a contract after the security deposit has been secured without letting them know it's nonrefundable? Before our celebration, I sat with Klara and came up with a plan for my event. She and Shane gave me great suggestions of songs for the family entrance, and the candle-lighting ceremony. This was so appreciated and we enjoyed discussing different songs. Klara and Shane are able to change and adapt to the event as needed. During our event, we played a photo montage that my son put together. In the middle of the montage, the music stopped. Shane quickly realized what was going on, and immediately started playing music that fit the moment. I ran to him and asked him to play a specific song that I knew my son wanted to hear.
