I was at Swarthmore College for the first time recently for a wedding. (This is going to be written…read morestrictly about my experience on the campus, and not about the academic/daily aspects of the college.) The setting is just beautiful: from the moment we entered the local neighborhood and drove through the mansions in order to get to the campus gate, you could tell we were in a special place. The old brick buildings are set between a plethora of greenery - fields, towering trees, shrubbery and flowers. The ceremony was intended to be outdoors, but the rain location inside was a great substitute for the intimate joining of the couple. Lighting, music, etc. all worked really well. The reception was in an old cathedral-looking building (all religious symbolism has been removed). The food and service was amazing... all fall-themed for the season, and very hearty. All of the staff that I spoke to were very friendly and accommodating. Overall, my first experience at Swarthmore was enjoyable and memorable. :)

They have a great horticultural program here. In retirement, a family member offered intern experiences to students, and taught a little. Through this, I have met students over the years, all were very knowledgeable. Background per their website, "In 1889, just six days before he died, Isaiah Williamson purchased 220 acres of land in Middletown Township, near Elwyn, Pennsylvania for the campus of his new school. Isaiah personally selected the site from over 200 prospective locations. The school's original board of trustees, headed by chairman, John Wanamaker implemented Isaiah's plans and vision for the institution following his death. Renowned Philadelphia architect, Frank Furness won the competition to design the original campus buildings. Ground was broken for the administration building in 1890 and the school opened for classes in 1891. Many of the original buildings are still in use today, functioning as they were originally purposed."

The lack of concession stands was a bit of a bummer as the game was right around dinner time. Both teams played well and I was glad to see class on and off the field.

We used to play bball in what many would consider smaller than most local high school gyms- now- a 1,700 seater that has the large court but could be made into two smaller courts. It's really nice- the bleachers fold in and open up on both sides for volleyball and basketball games. There is an auxillary gym in the back with rubber floors- the same flooring as the track (that's 1/10 of a mile!) The weight and cardio rooms are sweet too- each cardio machine has cable TVs on them as well as plugs for MP3 players. At a school that's only 47 years old, it's really, really nice.

Prospective students should carefully research accreditation and program value before committing…read more On March 10, 2026 I did an impromptu at Pennsylvania Institute of Technology located Media, PA to inquire about the LPN program, Unfortunately, the interaction was unwelcoming and dismissive. The staff member who assisted me did not introduce herself, offer a professional greeting, or engage in a meaningful conversation about the program. When I asked questions, I was largely directed back to the packet instead of receiving clear explanations (after requesting for piece of paper to capture nuggets, before she handed over the packet). I was also surprised to learn that the program is not accredited, despite the significant tuition and additional costs for prerequisite courses ($5,000.00 2 classes). Overall, the experience left a poor first impression and did not reflect the level of professionalism prospective students expect when exploring educational opportunities.

A School with a not so good experience. I graduated from…read morethis Tech School back in 96. The first couple of years were decent and I was making good headway. Then Suddenly around 94/95 There was a first year Electronics Teacher ,who used to work at RCA, who was also male started sexually harassing me. I wasn't sure as to what to do, plus I was very insulted by what was happening to me by this person. All I wanted was to get my degree as fast as possible and get out of there. I was very pissed off with this teacher to say the least. I never forgave this Person for the insult they did to me;I should have said something to the main office but I didn't want to start any trouble. I regret not saying anything at the time when I had the chance. I never went to my graduation nor did I ever go back to finish my dual electronics degree. Good riddance.

I still remember the first day I dropped my twins and my son threw up in the first 5 mins after I left while crying. Miss H was so sweet to take care of it all while she knew I was right outside in my car waiting for it to happen and take them back home. They helped the kids from when they were 17 months to when they finally left them. I am so grateful to all the wonderful teachers the school carefully hires and Miss Vicky, who I really admire for her passion to help develop the little ones as a person. This place is run by a dictator on a power trip. My daughter spent 1 month at this disaster. At…read moredrop off on day 1, the school's second in command yelled at my wife for dropping my daughter off 15 minutes earlier than the assigned drop off time. It was the first day so we weren't aware that the school's open hours are not the same as the assigned hours for your child. It was a precursor for what was to come. In the 1 month my daughter attended here, she was sent home 4 separate times for having a runny nose, even though she was not sick. Each time she was not allowed back without a doctor's note. Each time, the doctor said she was healthy and fine. I had to watch my daughter for 13 days that month--shuttling her to doctors to get a note to satisfy the mad woman running this place. All the while, I'm paying this place (and the doctors) and hoping my work wouldn't fire me. When I brought up the ridiculousness of the policy with an email, the head kicked my daughter out of the school. The idea that the people here care about your child is a farce. Leaving this place was a blessing. If the toxic fumes from the adjacent auto repair shops are not enough for you to avoid this place, I hope my caution here gives some insight to the toxicity inside. If you do join here, make sure you don't question the supreme overlord. Or maybe you should so you can get out of your contract and go to a better place.
