Review #300 goes to one of my favorite local shops. I stopped in during their Black Friday specials and the place was jammed! It was the first time I took advantage of their BF specials, as usually we are out of town. While the place was crowded, the staff had total control of the place and the wait was not that bad. It's actually the only BF sale that I took advantage off all day. Then of course I had to come back the next day and take advantage of the AMEX small business offer and spend some more quality time and $ here. If I am in town, will be there on my b-day to take advantage of the La Aroma De Cuba Mi Amor Reserva Event. The prices are fair, the selection vast and the staff accommodating: what more could you ask for? Well, I guess if they can open the windows a crack to air the place out. The Long Grove location just opened recently. They also have a location in Libertyville (I haven't been to that one yet). Very friendly and knowledgable staff. It's more like an old house that was gutted and renovated into a cigar lounge. You feel like you're in a friend's house, and it's a really cool atmosphere. The lounge upstairs is like being in someone's living room. Plenty of seating, plus a private conference room for meetings. I wish it was closer to me (prob 30 miles from me), but thankfully I have some friends that live nearby, I'll be able to go back! They have the usual smokes, plus a handful that I hadn't heard of before. I'm always up for trying a new brand, and it's good to check out other lounges. If you're in the area, stop in for a smoke, I think you'll enjoy it. read more

Nice cigar shop with a very comfortable smoking lounge . The gentleman who assisted us was friendly and helpful. The lounge has 2 TVs overstuffed furniture and some private areas as well . It is well ventilated. The prices are good with high end and main stream cigar brands. Davidoff, Arturo Fuentes and Don pippin to name a few. We found this spot while on vacation. I have been a pipe and cigar aficionado for more than a decade and am regularly on the road. A couple years ago, I moved to the area and found Neumann's. This place is a haven for great cigars and comfort. The staff are exceptionally friendly. The will do anything (within reason) to show their appreciation for your business. it really does feel like an extended family. They take the time to learn the preferences of their regulars and almost always have what you want in stock. The cigar selection is excellent, though I usually stick to my steady favorites. If you're from out of town, you need to remember that Illinois has an 18% tax on cigars, so factor that in before you judge Neumann's on the prices. Excluding this, I find them to be very competitive. The entire second floor has been converted into a lounge. Segmented into a small semi-private room and a larger open space, there is ample seating and better than usual air-handling. Leather seats all-around, plenty of ashtrays, and two HD TVs make Neumann's a great place to relax, socialize or serve as a second office. Overall, this is a rare thing among B&M shops. As others have commented, C&M has a great selection, good location and very nice smoking lounge that is comfortable and well ventilated (you don't come home with too many tell-tale signs you have been smoking...) But the big difference with C&M is that their staff knows their stuff. They have helped me expand my knowledge and appreciation of fine cigars. Once you share what cigars you tend to prefer - they know what other cigars you should try, why you should try them, what drink to pair with, etc. They understand that cigar smoking is not so much a matter of an investment of money - even at the high end - but an investment of time. I enjoy going to Neumann's in Long Grove. It is close to home and features a walk-in humidor with a great selection of sticks! Lighters,cutters and humidors are just the start in this shop. The staff there is always friendly and enthusiastic about the latest inventory and always happy to make suggestions. The cigar lounge upstairs is comfortable with big screen televisions and nice big chairs. They even have lockers for lease to keep your cigars in. I come her with my boyfriend to get cigars for him fairly often. He's been on the hunt for the best cigars around our area and this is his go to place! We've been to a handful of cigar shops and none even compare. At Neumanns they have a large walk in humidor with hundreds of different cigars. I don't smoke but I always love coming here because the smell from the humidor is simply divine. All the staff are unbelievably knowledgeable and always ask if you need help. Its amazing how spot on they can describe these cigars and give you a great smoke. If you go in and tell them your budget, the style cigar you are looking for, the tones of smoke you want, and how heavy you want it, they will take you through and recommend a nice selection of different brands all that match your needs. The facility in Long Grove has a lower lever with a large walk in humidor and some very nice other items for sale such as pens, cuff links, humidors, lighters, and other items you would expect to find in a cigar shop. It is very pretty, all wood and nicely organized. Upstairs is the place to take your cigar and enjoy it. Two wide screen TV's. Leather chairs. There is a small conference room in the event you need to hold a meeting. It is incredibly comfortable with an outstanding ventilation system. Bottom line, one of the best cigar stores and smoking lounge I have ever been to. Highly recommend it. read more

As far as the lounge is concerned, i still prefer Havana Joe's. However, in general this place is great. Fantastic selection, very polite and helpful staff, and everything is clean. The lounge upstairs is pretty solid. Prices are definitely fair. One of my favorite cigars is actually $4 cheaper per stick here than my usual spot. While the Liibertyville location is warm and friendly, the Long Grove location offers a more business friendly environment and is an excellent place to take clients after dinner at one of the several restaurants near by. The staff is knowledgeable and friendly, and the selection is excellent. Prices are extremely reasonable, even when it comes to higher end cigars. Everything is at MSRP, including Padron Anniversaries, Opus X, Fuente Anejos, and the rest of the cigars other stores tend to gouge. They even have a free club membership which tracks your spend and allows you to redeem points for in store rewards.
