They don't answer their phone ever. In Jan 2022 I was referred to Dr. Raymond for a nerve issue in my arm. It took a few phone calls before they answered but I was finally able to schedule an appointment. While scheduling the receptionist said something like I would be seeing the nurse practitioner and I had to stop and ask them what that meant. Turns out I was not actually going to see the Dr. Raymond and I would then have to come back in to see her. When I protested they gave me another date where I could actually see Dr. Raymond. Dr. Raymond was nice and thorough taking time to evaluate and explain things to me. The admitting nurse seemed slightly rude and did not have the warm kind feeling that I typically associate with people in the healthcare profession. It could have just been the vibe I got so that alone isn't a reason for a poor review. When they took my vitals they have an old style scale with the sliding weights, nothing wrong with that in general, but the scale is in the corner of a small room which means the nurse must stand inches from you to move the weights and take a reading. With COVID it seems like a little more distance would be nice. After she finishes taking vitals they then spray the room down with Lysol. Seems like a pretty big gap between the lack of social distance and then disinfecting the room. I was in again in early July for a follow up visit and they referred me to get another MRI. Once I got home I realized that they had sent the referral to a different imaging lab than the MRI I had earlier in the year. I tried calling them to see if they could get the MRI moved to where I had my first one just so I could avoid filling out as much paper work. I called several times and left messages before I was finally able to speak to someone in their office. The woman was nice and said she would check and call me back later that day. I got no call back. I have now been calling them several times a day for the past 2 weeks, left messages and nobody has ever answered the phone. I can't recommend NeuroAustin simply because they don't answer the phone. Even if I did recommend them it seems unlikely anyone would be able to book an appointment since they never answer their phone. read more

I went to NeuroAustin for well over a year for treatment of my migraines. The professionals who treated me were very good. However, the office staff, particularly an admin named Josie, are simply incompetent. Two different times, Josie forgot to order the botox in time for the treatment, and I had to reschedule. She simply does not understand that people have to work and cannot get off whenever the scheduler feels like it! I left the practice and am very happy with my new neurologist. I couldn't even get in because you have to be "referred" by another doctor...... I've had epilepsy my whole freaking life!! I don't need a general MD to tell me what I have and to go see a neurologist!! That's why I GO to a freaking NEUROLOGIST!!!! It's absurd that they require this. I could understand for other types of medical care like PT, because usually they want you to get tests and such done that they can't do themselves. But a practicing neurologist has NO reason to require such a thing. Makes me wonder if she even knows anything, maybe she wants the other doctors opinion first because she has no idea what's going on. Also, they could have asked me this question first. Instead she takes all my info, we confirm an appointment time (a month and a half away) and even after insurance... she finally asks me who I was referred by. We could have saved A LOT of time if she asked that first. I really feel like this doctor doesn't actually care about people if that is her policy. I can NOT afford to go see a general doctor AND a neurologist AND get my meds on top of all that. I don't have insurance and it would be SO pointless to waste money at a regular MD. What a freaking waste. I hate finding out that people don't give a crap about the little guys. They just want money or for someone to tell them how to do their job.... an easy way out. read more

Look I have zero patients for a doctor who does testing and then ask you to wait 3 wks for the results. On top of that then she brings you in to get the results from a non interactive P.A. So no I will not recommend this doctor at all. She is nice enough but I am not looking to waste my time and you can see she isn't wasting hers. EDIT: Upon voicing my concerns (and then probably reading this review) staff went out of their way to be kind and patient and I got to meet the doctor for the first time. The Bad: Clearly impersonal and bored front desk staff that are just as rude and aloof over the phone. Never seen the real doctor and was called the day before my appointment to be informed that they never received crucial bloodwork from me. Understandably, they have a lot of patients and cannot be expected to catch everyone, but to call me twice in secession to, in a clearly agitated tone, express I was "never on file" does not make clearer a problem that was already clear. After calling them to ask what else I can do my medical power of attorney was also met with a rude and impatient tone. If I have to match your tone so you can understand how rude you are being then you are not being professional. I am a new patient who has dealing with an entirely new diagnosis I never thought I'd have to deal with. I am a scared, uneducated on my options, and trust in ALL your staff to take me to a stable place. Instead, they make me feel a burden, uncomfortable, and more confused than I anticipated. The Good: The nurses where patient with me and finding the right medication for me. They are kind, funny, and interested in what they do. They make sure I am comfortable in my appointments and understand my wariness and concerns. They are reliable on prescription refills, I've never had to call in for more, and text before appointments to remind me I have them. They explained why my results might take longer than usual and left me with no questions. In conclusion: if you get past the rude phone calls and bored front desk staff you will be met with kind and patient professionals. Though the process is long and tedious they try to inform you of all the steps it might take. I don't expect perfection, just basic professionalism from people who should know at least how to pretend how to be pleasant over the phone. We all have to pretend to be nice during our jobs sometimes, they (the desk and phone staff) just need to try harder. read more

Horrible! Horrible! Horrible! They do not know what they are doing there. Even sending a prescription to the pharmacy is obviously too much for the team of NeuroAustin. It took them 4 weeks! When you call than you usually speak to a voicemail mashine. Calls do not really get replied! After 15 calls i finally spoke to medical assistant Maggie today. She didn't let me finish one sentence and was rude and sounded very bored! Hanging up the phone when they are done with what they want to say or all of the sudden tranfering you to someone else is a speciality of the ladies there. I got hung up for no reason twice today! Also i called today and asked for a call back and a confirmation that my prescription finally arrived at the pharmacy. Instead of a call back i got an appointment confirmation via txt message threatening me to charge me a fee if i will miss it. (I never wanted a new appointment!!!) I will never ever go there again! I rather have another bad migraine attack than going there again!!! read more

I honestly didn't think that all of the negative reviews had much merit, but I have to say that this place is garbage. I cannot speak to whether or not Dr. Raymond is any good or not, because she never conducted a single consultation with my wife. While the physicians assistant was kind, I expect professional diagnoses when dealing with strokes and possible MS. That was really the tip of the iceberg, however. Communication with the front of the house were awful (e.g. "oh yeah, we forgot to tell you that blood test wasn't a good pull so you have to go back...). Just no excuse for that kind of absentminded lack of professionalism these days. And please, NeuroAustin, for God's sake, your furniture and technology is somewhere between Soviet Block and 1991. An addendum to this horrid place--I can't seem to get out of this nightmare with them. After 4 months, I'm still receiving co-pay bills from the office (BILLS I HAVE PAID!!!) I'm really speechless at this point. This clinic brings administrative and medical incompetency to a scary new level. One of the worst parts remains that I can't even get in touch with anyone at the office to state my frustration and resolve the issue. THEY DON"T ANSWER THE PHONE. EVER. Perfect. I just know now that the idiots are going to turn my paid bills over to a collection agency and I will have to deal with a whole other nightmare (over a $35 co-pay that has been paid, paid PAID!). Please don't go to this place. It's not fair this clinic should be able to go on and keep doing this to people while there are so many other wonderful clinics and physicians in this area. read more

My husband met with Dr. Raymond, maybe 5 minutes. She doesn't have a good bedside manner. Every appointment was with Travis, her PA, who never looks up from his paperwork, makes suggestions or acts like he cares at all. We met with another neurologist after several years only to find out my husband had been on the wrong medication. He can already tell a big difference in how much better he feels on the new medicine from the new doctor. Worst medical office my husband or I have ever been to in our life. read more

Andrea Raymond is literally the worst, most unprofessional physician I have ever encountered. If I had more time or spite, I would report her to the board. I am writing this review almost a year and half after our last encounter which goes to show just how traumatic my last interaction with her was. I want to prevent future patients from going to her as well as commiserate with other patients who have undergone what sounds like similar abuse. I, myself, am a health professional and I believe she is emotionally ill-equipped to continue practicing and ethically manage complex cases. Long story short, I made an after hours call around 6pm on a week night because I was having epileptic seizure-like symptoms and full rotational vertigo" that had kept me from sleeping for the previous four nights. She returned my call after 11pm - I was desperate and was hoping she could offer some help or prescribe something that would calm these symptoms so I could get some rest. Before I even had a chance to speak, she was clearly irritated and demanded to know what my symptoms were. (First of all, there is this thing called a boundary - if you offer the service of after-hours emergency calls, don't become resentful at your patients who utilize it. There are plenty of physicians who do not make this service available). When my symptoms were obviously not severe enough for her to believe that my call was warranted she began berating me and saying that unless I was writhing on the floor and "frothing at the mouth", I should not have disturbed her. I kept reiterating that I was not functioning and just needed something to quell the symptoms to get some shut-eye, she kept exclaiming she was not a sleep doctor. Insomnia wasn't my primary presenting health concern - my night seizures were PREVENTING me from sleeping. On an on we went and as she became more animated, and her voice and tone became more abusive. Then I told her I did not appreciate how she was speaking to me. WELL, that didn't go over well. She spewed a few profanities, I returned a few, and then she hung up on me. I called the office the following morning and left a complaint with the office manager. A few weeks later I get a notification for a certified piece of mail that I must retrieve from the post office. I go and stand in line for two hours to collect it, thinking that it was a gift from a friend or relative. No. No, it was a discharge letter from Andrea Raymond firing me as a client for failure to establish a working doctor patient relationship. I'll say so. Since then, I have found a wonderful neurologist (Dr. Rani Das) who was thoughtful and ended up running an EEG - something that never occurred to Dr. Raymond - and was then treated successfully for seizures. I have no knowledge of whether or not Dr. Raymond would have eventually figured out the etiology of my symptoms, but her lack of relational skills obfuscated any chance of that occurring. What we know about healthcare is that success of treatment relies heavily on the doctor/patient relationship. She needs some significant self-reflection in this area before her competency as a physician can be established. I'm not sure what I need from this, but an apology sure would be appreciated - as well as a promise to her current and future patients that she will treat them will respect and honor, at base, their essential humanity. read more

WARNING: do NOT ignore all the negative reviews about Dr. Andrea Raymond. She is by far the WORST, RUDEST, most UNCARING AND INCOMPETENT neurologist I have ever met. She allowed herself and her practice to prescribe me the WRONG medication TWICE! Even the PA when reading over my medical notes specifically from this practice, said it was a mess. There was misinformation, and like I said an incorrect prescription dosage given to me, which led to me having a seizure (when I was almost a year seizure free.) After this incident, I insisted on speaking with Dr. Raymond herself. She literally REFUSED to see me. I told the medical assistants to tell her that I was really scared and to please give me 5 minutes. Again, they said that she refused. I was crying. Scared. Confused. Oh, and did I mention that on my way out I saw her standing outside talking on her cell phone?? She was not busy with another patient, she was taking a personal call while she had a young scared crying patient begging to talk to her after having a seizure. Sound like a good doctor to you? Doctors are supposed to "do no harm", right?? Well Dr. Andrea Raymond's negligence, and general lack of caring caused me great harm. I am only writing this to warn other people. Unfortunately I have very little positive things to say about this doctors office. After going to an appointment and being told that results would be back to me within the day I was surprised because I have been to a lot of doctors in the last 2 years and understand that results typically take time. After hearing no results that same day or in the next few, I gave the doctors office a call 4 days later and just asked if they had the results. The results were still not in but they assured me they would have them in the few days. I gave them a call week later same story. I gave them a call 2 weeks later same story. 40 days after the appointment I have yet to receive the results from the tests. I have now been told that I will have them by the end of the week which I find very very hard to believe. They still do not have the results and was told that I will "probably" receive a call at the end of the week. Absolutely ridiculous. Unfortunately I have already paid and am at the expense of the employees. I would strongly advise against going to this office. It has put my family in limbo because we cannot move forward with pressing health issues until we get these results back. An apology would be a great start and will absolutely update my review if the office can acknowledge that they mishandled us. read more

I wanted to select one star, but I'm trying to give them the benefit of the doubt & not react in anger. For all I know, Dr. Raymond is an excellent doctor who's helped hundreds. Unfortunately, my experience this morning left me feeling invalidated, dismissed, patronized, & angry. I was referred to Dr. Raymond by my PCP/Internist, following an MRI she ordered in December. Apparently something was seen on the MRI that she felt warranted further review by a neurologist. Ok. So, I called to set up an appointment & was told I would have to wait a month to get in. Meanwhile I did my part to fill out all of my paperwork & be sure that my relevant records were sent over. When I arrived this morning I was greeted by very pleasant staff. The front desk girl was friendly & helpful. The nurse who took me back was also friendly & quite thorough. Even the doctor was pleasant, but I felt as though my appointment was rushed through (she was running late) & my concerns & symptoms were easily dismissed. I wasn't given enough time to even list all of my concerns. Instead she just rushed me through a series of questions about items I had checked off on her pre-printed list, but did not allow me to elaborate or tell her about relevant issues that were NOT on the list. In the end, I was told that she thinks I have migraines. Let me be clear... I did NOT go in complaining of headaches. Sure, I get headaches, but they're not severe enough to warrant a trip to a neurologist & I'm pretty sure I would know if I was hit with a migraine. I've worked in the medical & mental health fields for over 15 years. I've seen migraines. I don't have them! But this was her answer to my drastic changes in vision in the last year, my constant joint & muscle pain, my cognitive changes, my vertigo (which she didn't even want to hear about), severe muscle cramping/spasms in my legs, RLS, exhaustion, tremors, etc. She did happen to notice my finger tips turning blue while I was there & asked me about it. I explained that it happens when I'm cold & she said, "That's Raynauds! Does anyone in your family have an auto immune disease?" At which point I informed her that, yes, it is Raynaud's. It was already diagnosed by my internist who referred me. It's there in the records that she sent over. And, no, to the best of my knowledge no one has an auto immune disease, but I don't know a lot about my family medical history... also, there in the records, as well as in the paperwork I filled out for her. When I asked how her migraine diagnosis dealt with the pain & other symptoms I was there for she decided she should see me back for some test that will basically electrocute all of the nerves in my legs to determine if I have a spinal problem. I scheduled the appointment, but right now I'm not so sure I'll keep it. I really dislike being treated as though I'm either over reacting or just trying to get attention. Oh... she did also suggest I take Trazadone. Google that one, if you're unfamiliar. There's absolutely NO reason (short of her thinking I'm depressed or crazy) to suggest such a thing for any of the symptoms I was there seeking help with. She said because it might help with sleep. Let's go back to square one... if I'm having problems with sleep, it's because I'm in PAIN! read more

I wouldn't recommend her or her nurse Practitioner to anyone, I started seeing NP Kim Kosatka (why not the doctor?) over 16 months ago, she is very knowledgeable but "NOT A GOOD LISTENER"!!!! Time after time I told her of new symptoms and I was ignored. I finally gave up and demanded I see Andrea, she was far from polite with me, very pissy with me, she didnt' read or was aware of why I was even there. I flat out told her Kim was not listening to my new symptoms, I cannot talk well and have shortness of breath, WTF come back in 3 months shit over and over again geting nowhere! No this isn't right, I'm choking everyday, I can't swallow, cant talk REALLY!!!!!!!!!!!! It is clear that she truly cares about her patients. I wish I could rate this place 0 stars. I don't even know where to begin. I was referred to this place by my doctor and was eager to get answers on my condition. I showed up 25 minutes early to my 1:30 appointment to fill out paperwork. By 1:45 two people had already been called back before me when they said their appointment times were 1:40 and 1:45. I didn't think much of it because I understand people run behind. Boy, was I wrong. By 2:05 I was finally called back by the nurse, keep in mind this is 35 minutes after my scheduled time and I was already there for an hour at this point. The nurse was very sweet, and I thought things were looking up. She spent probably 5 minutes with me and said the doctor should be with me shortly. At 2:40 I had still not seen a doctor, nor had anyone informed me of when I would. I went out to ask, and there was a doctor out there saying she would be with me in a second. She comes in and introduces herself as the Dr. Raymond's assistant. She took down history and did a quick neurological screen and that's it. I waited ANOTHER 15-20 minutes and the assistant came back in and told me Dr. Raymond has a cough and cannot see you. She proceeded to tell me that she spoke with Dr. Raymond about my condition and Dr. Raymond thinks that I have Multiple Sclerosis, and that I need to have MRIs and EMGs done. This is where I was super frustrated, not only did I wait over 2 hours to not see a doctor, she also came to the conclusion that I have MS just by looking at a piece of paper. Which is not only unsettling, but extremely unprofessional to do to a young girl who has just been diagnosed with fibromyaliga three weeks prior that SHE NEVER EXAMINE HERSELF. I went to the front desk to schedule the follow ups and they could not get me in. At this point, I gave up and told them I was going elsewhere. This place is the most unprofessional, horribly run healthcare service I HAVE EVER BEEN TO. After reading the other reviews, I do not believe she had this cough. There is zero communication between staff and they clearly do not care about anything that is going on during your daily schedule. I spent a total of 2 hours and 30 minutes at this place only to be told I was not going to see the doctor I was referred to. I WILL NEVER GO TO THIS DOCTOR'S OFFICE again, and i recommend that no one else does as well. read more

Dr. Raymond is a wonderful doctor. I have been working with her for over a year. She always spends a lot of time with me in the room and goes over EVERYTHING. She is very thorough and the office staff is nice as well. I'm not sure why people are writing that people never answer the phones, I have never had a problem. If they don't answer they always call back the same day. It seems that everyone here is truly concerned with my well being and I have never questioned any of Dr. Raymond's findings or suggestions. She is also very easy to reach on weekends which I have had to do for numerous hospital stays and different symptoms. Great doctor! read more

The Doctor will try and order as many tests that will cost a ton of money and require you to come in and pay for office visits just to conclude that you need to do regular neck exercises. You will have long wait times and spend almost no time with Dr. Reymond herself. A primary care can do the same job for a fraction of the hassle and price. read more

I LOVE HER! She fixed my migraines! For so many years of my life, I would have to miss important dates like friends weddings because I would be in agony with a migraine. I tried so many things. The only thing that worked was acupuncture 3x a week. But who has that much time and money? I have been seeing Dr Raymond once every 3 months for several years and haven't had a migraine ever since. She gave me my life back (and she is super sweet, and her staff is too)! read more

I would never recommend dr Raymond. I am acting as my mothers advocate. She has brain seizures and has been seeing the PA at the office for more than a year. She has only seen dr Raymond one time on Telemed. She recently was scheduled for a dat scan to determine if she has Parkinson's. Unfortunately the snow storm happened and then she broke her hip. Now she is in a rehab facility. Tonight she was hallucinating and very confused due to her frontal lobe siezures the dr Raymond is treating. After four hours of waiting for a returned call from dr Raymond. I was informed by her that she would not help my mother because she is in a skilled nursing facility. She told me that the dr there should help her. I was mad and asked her for a referral to another neurologist that would help my mother. She replied, I can give you a list of 50 doctors that will take Medicare patients. Obviously, she doesn't like old people! My recommendation would be negative stars, simply because of her lack of caring and her blatant apathy read more

I feel very deceived! Thinking I was signing the usual "you agree to pay whatever the insurance does not," I apparently signed a form saying I would get my own referral or be responsible for the charges. I've never seen this form before and was not on the lookout for that. I would not have been there if my doctor had not referred me, and I assumed all the referrals had been done. I don't even know HOW to do that! So if you go to this Doctor WATCH OUT FOR THAT LITTLE FORM AND MAKE SURE YOUR REFERRALS ARE IN ORDER! This mistake cost me $860! I recommend finding another doctor who does not use deceptive techniques to avoid having to make their own referrals. I would not REFER you to this doctor. read more

I saw Dr. Raymond and Annette Wilson during my brief care at NeuroAustin. I dealt mostly with Annette, who is not a doctor, and only saw Dr. Raymond once. Both Dr. Raymond and Annette were insentive to my case and have accusatory personalities. I went to this practice as a referral because I have issues with headaches and memory. They have completely disregarded my headaches, told me the cyst they found on my brain had no impact on my symptoms, and made snide remarks about my memory. When I forgot to get a prescription filled and had asked for a paper prescription to help me remember, Annette told me that I needed to take responsibility and remember to get them filled. When I was given a list of doctors for a referral to have testing done, Annette mockingly told me that the names are easy to remember. When I told Annette Wilson that the medication wasn't working her response was to double the prescription, when I told the neurosurgeon it wasn't working they told me to stop taking it. When I told Annette Wilson that I stopped taking the medication because the neurosurgeon said to, she said she needed to actually talk to the neurosurgeon because "like you said, you have bad memory." When I filed for FMLA they neglected to fill out the paperwork in time even after I paid the $50 to have them do it. Then they forced me to come into the office for an appointment to discuss FMLA even though I had already done it over the phone and through email with Annette and they already turned in the paperwork and my case had already been approved. I had to pay another copay for something that is already done. During this "appointment" with Dr. Raymond, she pretty much accused me of lying and told me that she was refusing to treat me. She then gave me a letter saying that it was necessary to conclude the relationship because of our failure to achieve an effective patient-physician relationship. She then had a man come into the room to see me out. I have never been treated this way by a doctor. I feel at a loss. I'm due to have brain surgery in July and I feel totally neglected, insulted, and let down. If you want adequate treatment for your illness, or even just adequate treatment on a personal level, I would recommend searching for a neurologist outside of NeuroAustin. read more

The Doctor herself was very sweet, but I suffer from severe migraines, and it took me 3 months to get an appointment to see her. So that was what it was and I waited patiently. After seeing her, she ordered and MRI and EEG before prescribing any medications to make sure there was not something else going on. I was also fine with that. But once I got those procedures done, it's another 5 weeks before I have a follow up appointment and any answers. I am nearly about to lose my job due to these debilitating migraines. So I called the office in the morning and asked for something for my migraines while I wait for my follow up. I was then transferred to her assistant and left a message for Dr. Raymond to call me back (while suffering a migraine attack). Not only did I not hear back from her, but I called again before the office was closed that same day and they said she was too busy to get back to me until possibly the next day. I am not happy with this service at all. I work in the service industry and I would never treat my clients that way. I only give two stars because the Doctor herself did seem to genuinely care once I talked to her. But I can not lose my job over this. read more

I have met with nothing but professionalism, care and empathy. the entire staff, right down to scheduler immediately took an interest and began to make me feel like they genuinely cared. We are still pursuing a diagnosis through testing, but I have every confidence in Dr. Raymond. I don't expect a snap miraculous judgement and opinion, Dr. Raymond is thorough and I believe, will be accurate. She has been kind ad empathetic and personally explained everything that we are doing. read more

I never got as far as seeing the doctor, so I can't evaluate her. I was referred to the doctor and made an appointment for about a month later, which was the earliest they had. So today I went in to see the doctor. For some reason they thought I was a Medicaid patient. I told them I wasn't. They wanted to see my insurance card, which I showed them, but which I expected that they wouldn't take. I was prepared to pay up front for everything. They said that they would not see anybody who had my insurance, even though I wanted to pay up front. The billing guy was brought out to explain it to me, but it all sounded like BS. I realized that nothing I said was going to change their minds, so I left and went home. I got home and called my insurance company to ask them whether there was any reason that a doctor should refuse to see me because they insure me. They said that while they have a Medicaid arm in their company, my insurance is not related to that so there is no reason that an out-of-network doctor should refuse to see me. So I called NeuroAustin and talked to the billing guy I had talked to at the office. I told him that I had talked to my insurance company and they didn't know of any reason for AustinNeuro to avoid me, and that I was going to give him another chance to explain to me what the problem was. He said since I had called my insurance company and confirmed it, it would be OK for them to see me (after he told me much of the same BS as before). He wouldn't exactly explain why he didn't believe me when I was at the office, but did believe me 40 minutes later talking to him on the phone. So he said they could see me. I asked when, figuring that maybe they would try to squeeze me in the next day or something like that. The best he could do was 11 days later. When I said that this really seems like their screw up and that I had had to wait about a month for today's appointment and confirmed that the best they could do was 11 days later, he couldn't find a way to disagree. So I said "Well, screw you guys!" and joined Yelp. Of course, when I get to Yelp I see that a decent number of people think the doctor is crappy, as well. So maybe I was lucky I didn't get as far as seeing her. I certainly find it easy to believe all the 1-star reviews. read more

They require a referral (why?) so I had to pay for a visit with my GP just for that reason. They called me from the waiting room quickly, but I had not finished their excessive number of forms. I don't know why they don't have a patient portal like every other doctor. The nurse told me to "sit up straight" (I was) while taking my blood pressure, read one of the forms to me as though I can't read, and stood over me like a kindergarten teacher while I continued filling out forms. Then she asked me questions that were clearly answered on my form, while looking straight at it. The NP was professional and thorough. Dr. Raymond was friendly, but she mentioned a condition from my past records. I do not have the condition she mentioned, and it is nowhere in my records. When I got home, I looked up the reviews, and canceled my tests because I won't go back. When I called to cancel, I was asked why....! Since when do I have to explain my decisions to a doctor's office employee? Find another neurologist. read more

Horrible customer service. Let me just start off by saying that I really like Dr. Raymond and Ashley her PA. But the MA/nursing staff is something to be desired. I've had issues in the past with prescriptions refills not being addressed and not ever being able to speak to a nurse to resolve the matter. Recently I was given a new prescription that I had a very bad allergic reaction to. After several days of trying to contact staff with no answer or call back I called the receptionist only to find out they were closed for the whole week for the holidays. She was very apologetic and told me she would have someone call me back that evening but no one ever did. That was over two weeks ago. This is unacceptable as a practice. I work for a doctors office and never would we blatantly ignore our patients. I will be looking for another neurologist. read more

I don't get all the negative reviews for Dr. Raymond. I almost cancelled my appt after reading Yelp reviews. Glad I didn't. I was referred by my PCP for hand numbness. The diagnosis was much better than I thought it would be, and I was referred to a physical therapist. The doctor and her associate spent a lot of time explaining the testing and the way the body responds to nerve damage. They were concise and understandable. Everyone I had contact with in the office was polite, cheerful and professional. I base this review on only two visits, but I was very pleased with both experiences. I would not hesitate to see Dr. Raymond again if necessary. Bonus: Lots of easy, free parking. read more

No one wants to get the diagnosis of Alzheimer's. That's what happened to a close friend of mine under their care. As I've attended each visit, I've been amazed by the compassion and professionalism of every staff member, from the front desk to the PA to the neurologist. Highly consistent. Highly proficient and knowledgeable. In general, doctors deal in the world of human suffering. NeuroAustin often deals with brains that aren't working normally. This is a real challenge medically and socially. What I find striking is that they don't talk down to someone whose mind is confused or slow. They show great respect and patience. They help their patients make healthy choices. No pressure. I am quite impressed with this team and their effectiveness. read more

I find the negative reviews quite the opposite of my experience over several appointments with this office and Dr. Raymond. I found her to be extremely knowledgable, clear in her explanations, and willing to take the time to talk through anything that was not being understood. read more

Do not let the negative reviews discourage you. I was initially hesitant to go to Dr. Raymond after reading the negative reviews, but I could not be happier that my PCP referred me to her care. The staff is wonderful, everybody was very polite and welcoming. I was seen by both Dr. Raymond and Ashlea her PA. I felt that they both listened to me and were attentive to my personal experience with migraines. They came up with a plan of care that took into consideration the many different aspects that contribute to my condition. I've been suffering from migraines for over 12 years, and I left their office feeling I was finally given the tools necessary to both prevent and treat them. They offered me solutions other doctors have never discussed with me, including medication to help with my nausea and other accompanying symptoms. I was there only a couple of weeks ago, and I feel they have already contributed to an improvement in my quality of life. Overall, I felt like NeuroAustin gave me exactly what I was hoping for, effective treatment and providers who are extremely knowledgeable and caring. I have been a patient in this office for several years. Had an appointment scheduled for approx. 6 weeks to see the NP. I was supposed to get lab and test results. Showed up for my appointment, got me checked in pretty quick and then I was called to an exam room. I sat in that exam room for 1.5 hrs. At around 40 minutes I stuck my head out and asked what was going on, I was told I would be next. Waited another 40 minutes or so, when I had finally had enough and left. Pulled the papers off the exam room door, laid them down on the desk and told them I was done. No results, never saw NP--only say MA who took my vitals and handed me a tablet to answer some questions. No one came into the room to say she was running behind, no one said there was an office emergency--nothing. Anything could have happened in that room and they would have been completely unaware! I am done, if I need followup it will not be with this office. Will not go back. read more
