I have been seeing Dr. Patterson for several years for migraines due to cervical spinal stenosis. She is an amazing doctor. She is personable, very knowledgeable, and empathic. Because I can only see my pain doctor once a year for help with the stenosis thanks to my insurance, Dr. Patterson suggested Botox injections, which have been a life-saver for me. During our first visit, we arrived 30 minutes early; however, after being placed in an exam room, we waited an additional 1.5 hours to be seen. I had to follow up twice with staff just to address the delay, which was both frustrating and concerning. At our second visit, we were informed that imaging could not be completed due to an issue with your equipment, requiring us to seek services at another office. This caused unnecessary inconvenience and delayed my mother's care. During the third visit, although we were seen promptly, the physician appeared more focused on concluding the appointment than ensuring we fully understood the recommended outpatient procedure. I had to repeatedly request clarification regarding the risks and details so we could make an informed decision. Our fourth visit was the most concerning. We arrived at approximately 8:03 AM got to front desk at 8:08 AM, delayed only due to difficulty finding parking and safely assisting my elderly, currently disabled mother from the car into her wheelchair. Despite explaining this, the front office staff enforced a strict "zero-minute late policy" and refused to check whether the physician could still see us--even though the visit was simply to review results. Given the circumstances, the lack of flexibility, empathy, and basic consideration for a disabled patient was unacceptable. After this experience, we left without rescheduling. It is deeply disappointing that my mother has had to endure these ongoing issues. The repeated pattern of excessive delays, poor communication, equipment failures, and lack of compassion reflects a serious breakdown in both operational efficiency and patient care standards. What is particularly concerning is that these issues have consistently occurred during visits with Dr. Charlie, indicating a troubling lack of resolution despite multiple encounters. This experience falls well below the level of care, professionalism, and empathy that patients and their families should reasonably expect. If I could give zero stars to this clinic I would. I had to take my mom there for neurological care & had to translate her because she does not speak English. We received most horrible service from Dr. Julius Charlie. He left with no warning and left for another patient. Did not have all our questions answered. His appointment notes afterwards were full of mistakes, just show you how much attention he was paying. It's just complete negligence & unacceptable service. I strongly recommend that you reconsider using Neurology Associates clinic on Fairview. I made an appointment with Dr. An in April for chronic migraines, which I have had for over 30 years. I was told I would see Dr. An but instead I was seen by a physician's assistant, Brian Allen. I provided a complete one-page history of the doctors and treatments I've had in the past, including doctors at Mayo and Barrow neurology. I have migraines everyday and since I am at the point where I have tried all the available medications, I am left with just trying anything new that comes out. There is a preventative treatment that involves going in for a medication infusion at an infusion center every 3 months. I have very good insurance through United Healthcare. The process there for new specialty medication is that the doctor submits the medical history. Often the new specialty medication is initially denied and then the doctor must call for an appeal request. After a conversation takes place between the provider and the insurer specialty departmen the medication is approved. PA Brian Allen and his medical assistant sent in the written history but will not call to do the peer-to-peer even though I and United healthcare have both requested this several times. I've been told by the medical assistant that Neurology Associates will not call insurance companies. PA Brian Allen had a stroke and has speech difficulties. I do not know if that's why he will not call, but he has the option of having Dr An call. Dr. An is aware of my case because while I was at the visit with Brian Allen, he went into her office and relayed everything I had told him. I have tried to contact Dr. An and I keep getting directed to the PA and MA. It's been 2 months of additional pain from migraine. I have never had this situation before and I've seen many doctors over the years. read more

I went to see Dr Julius Charley at this Mesa facilities. Biggest mistake ever, since I had already experienced a bad doctor from Neurology Associates few years earlier, but felt not all would be rude, inconsiderate and not very professional. My main concern was because seemed I was getting Parkinsons. Besides front desk person being rude, Dr Charley came in examining room and without asking my problem or symptoms, took it for granted I was there for neuropathy and rushed thru the , cold-warm instrument touch test, asked to walk a few steps, then rushed out of room. No questions asked. Nurse came and said he ordered some tests, but not returning to room. I have seen this before. Clinics that seemed to order tests within their clinic so to (my opinion) charge Medicare more. Happened before with different clinic and I never got the results. Before I could inform Medicare, tests were paid for. Just beware and be alert. I walked out, of course! We have to as patients be our own Advocates. I had a bad feeling about Neurology Associates by the front desk reception. We patients have to demand respect and keep informing about not so qualified doctors by how they treat us. This has nothing to do with the provider that my wife sees at this particular office. This is everything to do with the office staff professionalism, their BS policies, which differ from every other medical office & if it is really exists in their policies somewhere, It must be finer than fine print. My wife had an emergency appointment last week (Thursday 6/4/26), after a wreck (Sunday 5/31/26) to see them. The day before, they called in the morning to say she needs a new updated referral. Within an hour, I had her on a telehealth with the PCP getting that done, AMB STAT referral. The neurologist office called back before the end of the day to cancel that appointment and rescheduled it this week. Fine, we waited, we showed up. She was inside their office building 2 minutes after her appointment and had to wait in line, and they said that she's late and there is no grace period it's in their policy. If her neurologist wasn't so awesome, I would have cussed them out at the top of my lungs and found somebody else for her, because the office staff and this bullshit policy is atrocious, and I think the "policy" isn't even true Because they would most likely tell you that considering they differ from every other medical office, and I was with her at her first few appointments, and neither one of us remember hearing that or her signing that. If I could Google review the doctor separately from the office. I would, but unfortunately, I can't. read more

I would recommend you check around before using this place. They failed me as a patient. I'm a truck driver and went under their protocol for seizure back on August 3rd. I did tests they required, took their medication and almost done with that. I see Dr Han who tells me their office won't sign off a truck drivers to return to work. What's more ridiculous? The fact I fact I wasted 2.5 months following their protocol only at end to hear it c was all for not or the fact I told them (so they knew) that I wanted to drive again and they didn't tell me in the beginning of this outcome beforehand? What could have been done by a simple phone call wasted my time and money to line their pockets and charge my insurance company for a full visit. Dr. An is the WORST doctor I have every had and I've had many over the years. She's mentally checked out during the visits. It's seems clear to me doesn't like her job and is just there clocking in and out. She does not seem to care about questions or suggestions patients have. She just bangs away at her keyboard, shows ZERO emotion or compassion then stands up and leaves. You're left wondering what the hell just happened. I've interacted with her a few times now in just over a year. Each visit nearly the same outcome. I feel she's sub-human. Robot-like. Doctors who show no empathy or compassion for their patients should not exist. I believe she may need some therapy or mental help. If I had to guess her home life probably isn't great and she carries that to work. Moving to a new provider. Will NEVER step foot in this place again and for that I am relieved. Both Doctor Charles and Doctor An were rude, Doctor An refused to listen while doing a test and then left me unable to speak or respond and never came back. I Paid for every appointment and test except one in advance and they are trying to charge me a second time for all of them. These are some of the most incompetent doctors I have ever been to in my entire life, and I kept going for way too long hoping someone would finally help me. I have Trigeminal Nueralgia which has been previously diagnosed after a facial infection. Dr. Lockwood, who just left this center, was basically treating me with Botox and nerve blocks which did not help. There are specific meds, nerve ablation, etc, which were never tried. My symptoms have worsened in the past year. I saw Dr. Julius Charlie one time, described my excruciating pain and other symptoms, and he declared that I did not have Trigeminal Nueralgia. He then said that I could go somewhere else if I was not happy. I was so d**m upset. The kicker, he contacted my pharmacy and cancelled the one medication I was getting from this office. I would rather have my head explode than go back to these morons. read more

I am not going to get into the details as I really liked Dr. Patterson, however I visited them 4 months ago and tried to get a medication filled today that I need and they refused without an appointment. And I could not get in until the 19th. I get sick without it, but clearly they do not care, they could have done something for me, I am there for all but one of my appointments over the last year and a half. No one is perfect including myself, but well being should be important. They had the nerve to tell me I could go to the ER and pay a fortune just to get the medication, how sad is that. I have good ins and they get paid good for these appointments, and again it had only been 4 months. I did have to cancel one due to work but my health should be more important to them. She could have written me a script to get me to the 19th when I could get in next. But I am glad this happened because now I see all the bad reviews about this place. Patient lost, she is a great doctor to be fair but she was dead wrong on this one, they could have helped me. I would suggest going to another place if your looking for a doctor. read more

We had a very disappointing experience with the front desk staff. While scheduling a 30-minute new patient appointment with Dr. Lockwood during a follow-up visit with Kim, PA for Dr. Rabbin, we were assured everything was set. However, upon arriving for the appointment, we were informed that no appointment existed, as it had been made in their old system. Despite having an email confirmation, they refused to honor the appointment. The staff claimed they called the day prior to reschedule, but there is no record of any such call. This level of disorganization and unprofessionalism from the front office was incredibly frustrating. Unfortunately, based on this experience, I wouldn't recommend this practice. It sounds like I will never hear back from the office manager from prior reviews. Update: this review was made on October 17. It is now November 1 and the office manager has not contacted me. Second update: Our appointment that we scheduled in person at the office. WITH THE FRONT DESK GIRLS for Thursday November 14 . We received a call saying there has been a scheduling error and now can not see us until December 20th. They also said we did not confirm, which we did and have the email confirmation to prove that we confirmed our appointment on Nov 10. The office manager is also there CEO who does not return calls or care about their patients well-being. If i were the doctors at this practice i would be mortified of the front desk staff and system used to schedule your patients. It is horrendous and neglectful what the CEO and scheduling staff continue to get away with. read more

Saw Dr Charlie for a head injury and some lingering dizziness, balance issues. He was great. What makes him special is all the time he takes to talk with you and give you advice.He has a very 'holistic ' approach talking about healing and using your mind to help. Great care. read more

Dr. Charlie is great, he spends a lot of time with you and has some non-conventional ideas that don't involve just pushing medication. However, the office itself is not good. There is only one friendly scheduler that I know of, everyone else is rude. And forget about trying to get a person to help you. Leaving a voicemail for his MA gets you no response and then when you try to get a hold of someone else, all the voicemail boxes are full, if they even send you to the right extension, and you can't get anyone. It's very frustrating. I resorted to having to leave a message through their website and still haven't heard anything yet. Once this issue is cleared, I will definitely look elsewhere if I need a neurologist again, which is too bad because I really like Dr. Charlie. read more

Saw Dr Charlie - was told there was an "abnormality" seen on my test results. I did not understand what the abnormality was and asked if he could help me understand. He made no effort to explain in a different way in order to help me understand. After this visit I called and left a message requesting a written summary of my visit in hopes this would help me understand - received no call back. After days, called and requested to be transferred to a different doctor within the practice and was told I'd need to speak to the office manager. Left a message for them, and also received no call back. Canceled my future appointments and made an appointment with a different neurologist office. read more

Dr Andrea An and her staff is the best in so many ways - I've been seeing Dr An for about 6 years and could not be more pleased. Dr An always remembers details about not only my care but also details about my overall health even outside of my neurological health. it shows she cares and it makes me enjoy coming into the office. I have had headaches and migraines for the better part of 40 years but they are totally under control since Dr An's care. We use botox injections and intermittent meds to keep both in check. the staff and the office is outstanding as well -/ I never have to wait - prompt, efficient and caring. read more

Called me a couple weeks ago to schedule an MRI was told they would get the records for my coil from other provider set up MRI when I showed up they said they didn't have the information needed. Have left messages to reschedule and call the other provider to fax them the needed records. If I needed to do this I should of been told in advance as they told me they would do it. I've had 4 appointments at the neurology center. The facility has always been clean and tidy. The staff at the front desk are always courteous and helpful. Do expect to have a wait of 30 minutes to see the doctor. The staff in the back office doing testing are professional and you are a bit rushed. I do recommend this facility. read more

Awhile back my neurologist left the practice and no one told me. They did not reassign the patients, they did not inform anyone, they just ignored requests directed to that doctor. I finally got them to schedule me with someone else and now a year later I'm up for a pre-auth for my urgent medication and no one has responded. I have called multiple times, I've left messages and no one has gotten back to me in over a week. I spoke on the phone three times to a receptionist who bumped me over to a voicemail that is seemingly never checked. They also try to only give out the pre-auth for 3 months so that I have to come back and give them another copay - even though they never do any tests or an exam. I had to beg to have it extended to a year. I'm still waiting. I can't get the medication that I need and I can't get my medical records in order to see another doctor. read more

I've seen Dr. Julius Charlie. He is a great doctor. He truly listens to the patient. He does not push medication but does know a lot about recent ms medications and research even though his expertise is not ms. I've seen many neurologists in the past 30 years and I really appreciate his demeanor and his care. His MA Andrea is amazing as well. She always gets back to me when I have a question or concern. When I needed medications the prescriptions were always called in to the pharmacies I use including local pharmacy and a specialty pharmacy. Prior to Dr. Charlie I saw brian rabin md (when he was at a prior practice). He's a great neurologist as well but Dr. Charlie is closer to my home. The only negative comment I have is the exam room at the mesa location is a bit small and,therefore, really can't observe the patient walking. read more

It seems really hard to find a Neurologist who sticks around longer than 2 years! This office is no different. The office staff are completely inept. We ran into a bind when we realized my son was out of his anti-seizure RX. I called to see if they could order an emergency script and they said NO! I understand policies are in place, but to never make an exception? He's been taking the same medication for 6 years. He had to be seen, but there were no appts available in the foreseeable future! We had also moved from Mesa to Gilbert, so I was working on getting my son established closer to our new home. They REFUSED to help, knowing that him not receiving this script would cause my son to have seizures. read more
