Best neurosurgeons in town. Would refer all of the physicians to anyone who inquires. The personal time they spend with each patient is a novelty. Not quick with the knife but proficient if it is necessary. Patient and empathetic, with years of experience. Up to date on the latest technology. Why go anywhere else? read more

Over course of five months I have had gradual increase of pain in my hip. I saw a chiropractor 5 times. The I went to spine specialist. After an e-xray I was told there was nothing wrong. I'm not a complainer but damn, there has to be something wrong. My husband was chatting with a friend who had similar symptoms and was 'cured' by Dr. Waters at Neurosurgical Specialists. Dr. Waters sent me for an MRI and lo and behold there is a tear in my anterior acetabular labral! It's the stuff between your femur and pelvis. We have a plan to fix it to avoid surgery. Dr. Waters LISTENED to me. He is compassionate and wears crazy socks. If the time spent in the waiting room wasn't so long this would be a five star review. read more

The reception staff mishandled my initial referral from my GP and my own attempt to make an appointment so terribly that they called me three times to correct information they should have had access to from the referral. They did not fax the paperwork for the initial appointment like they promised to do. When I called to clarify whether or not I had an appointment, they did not return my call. When I showed up for the appointment (just in case they kept it) they then told me I was responsible to bring my MRI. This info was not shared earlier. I left in frustration without even seeing the doctor. If doctors employ this level of incompetence, I definitely don't trust them with my spinal issue. read more

My appointment was over an hour ago, and I'm still sitting in the waiting room - watching people give up on their appointments. Also have seen a woman hysterically crying in the stairwell because her appointment was canceled and was never called, we heard they wouldn't let her be seen by another doctor. I've been informed "it won't be long" several times, however no indication if that means 15 min or 2 hours. The return patients act as if this is typical. There's a computer in the waiting room that is down, therefore it continues to loudly beep three times every ten seconds - I've timed it. After over an hour of listening to it, I've nearly gone crazy. I wish I could speak for the doctors and nurses on staff for this location, but I may never see them... Update: after the appointment, I I learned that today truly was the first day of a computer program switch, leaving them with many technical issues. The staff, once you get behind the door, is very friendly and informative. I could tell it had been rough with the technology issues. Upgraded to three stars. read more

Located behind the Chesapeake Medical Regional Center Hospital. Signage is excellent for the building. They have a surface lot that seems adequate. Be mindful of physician parking, there are signs. The lot was tidy. In the front they have a covered pull through for drop off. Appointments were handled in a timely fashion. Specialist are well known for taking months, maybe I was lucky in securing a date in two weeks. They utilize electronic reminders on email and text. The lobby walk in clean as I entered. However, it is noticeably dated. The elevator operated and I took it to the second floor. The doctors waiting room had adequate seating and was tidy. Check-in efficient and wait short to first see nurse than Dr. Snider. Great exam and the doctors bed side manner fantastic! Both visits were consistently great on efficiency. Dangerously uncomfortable and scary so close to my brain, etc. So, i asked the surgeon, which is one of the best on the east coast, "if it were you, who would you trust to operate on you in such a dangerous placement?" He gave me Dr. Ordonez's phone number. It took some time to get an appt, and tests and other things to get ready. Considering all the different autoimmune disorders that i have, including clotting disorders, where my blood clots in less than 26 sec. I was afraid. That is an understatement. But, i did it, i had too, without a doubt or i would have ended up sufdering a fate worse than death if i hadnt. I am very glad that i did, and i am very thankful to Dr. Ordonez and his staff and to chesapeake regional hospital for the great care that i received. If you are in pain on a daily basis and it can be lessened by a neurosurgeon that is skilled and knowledgeable, youll want to see Dr. Joe. I owe him a great deal of thanks and i am truely grateful for the whole team. I suffer horribly on a 24 hour clock, but even though it has only been since 2/20/26, and today is 3/3/26, the amount of pain that i was in, has been lessened by about 60% or more because Dr. Ordonez and his grate skilled staff and hospital have been a true blessing. I have several more sureries to go before i am able to stand upright again, before i can take a step without horrible pain, but i trust that with God and the skills that Dr. Ordonez has aquired, with Gods help, i will have that again in the forseable future. THANK YOU SO VERY MUCH FOR ALL THAT YOU DO ON A DAILY BASIS. So n bed my 9 sometimes 10pm with a quick nap during the daytime. I received a referral from my PCP, which led me to the Virginia Neurology sleep specialist. My Dr. I was very informative and thorough. Enlightening me on the dangers of improper sleep and what it could cause. I appreciated the call from the office to schedule my appointments; I honestly would have let it go until the next episode. My appt was made . I was asked for my information again, which was already on the referral. This annoyed me a bit since I have Tricare and carried an insurance verification card. I use this with all of my civilian Dr's. On my breast cancer journey, recovery takes you to many appts. I can only attribute this to their scheduling or methods of billing, which I assume is not an up-to-date system. The office is conveniently located to work and home. I walked to my first appt during the day, taking time from work. True, the Chesapeake office is very much outdated and could use a complete renovation. They receptionists were friendly, greeting me upon arrival. I quickly realized this was also the lady who called me to make the appt. Once checked in, I had to apologize to her for questioning her asking for the above, which I'm still not really okay with. Anywhoo, last night was my actual sleep study at their sleep lab. Hubby has had 2 in lab studies done and my BFF also. So I kind of know what to expect. Upon arrival at 8:30, I was greeted by a nice gentleman who led me and another patient up to their lab. It was super clean and well lit. The cool air was super delightful. I was allowed to bring my pillows and blankets. I showered just before leaving home and arrived in my most comfortable PJ'S! I was not allowed to nap during the day, so basically, after work, I ran to the mall, shopped a bit, came home, and made dinner, still just sitting to eat. I brushed my teeth, grabbed my stuff, and went to this location. As I sat down on the bed, SLEEP rushed in. Next, a lady technician arrived.. I CANNOT TELL YOU HOW HAPPY I WAS TO SEE HER! TMI. But, after many surgeries and reconstruction, things are just a little different now. My plastic surgeon is an amazing and talented Dr, FACTS! Soooo my lady tech, I believe her name is Adrian. Please forgive me if I'm totally incorrect; I was really professional and knowledgeable about what she was about wiring me up for this to work. She kept her mask on the entire time. All those leads, she cleaned my skin and hair and pasted me so quickly and confidently. She explained each step as she worked, which calmed me down for a good rest and procedure. She checked on me after she checked the connections in their monitors' room. I was allowed to watch TV for a bit, then decided to turn it off to rest. I'm forgot to take a picture of the nice bedroom. Nerves got the best of me. Most of the night, I tossed and turned, intimated by the leads. I did sleep but not a deep sleep. I walked out of this facility by 6am, ready for coffee. All in all, this is a great place to start if you are having sleeping issues. My follow-up is in a few weeks.

Dr. Barot and his team have been fantastic, so much so that I my mother, my sister, and my sister's daughter have all been there as well. And last night, my 7 year old BIPAP Resmed machine stopped working in the middle of the night. I was very concerned about not having a working machine in time, so I contacted Dr. Barot who was actually on vacation, and he made sure his team (Alex and Lois) were able to action immediately to help ensure something was found. I was able to get a replacement BIPAP machine this afternoon, even with the supply chain issues currently impacting supply. All because Dr. Barot cares about his patients. Excellent doctor, I give him my highest recommendation.

Not supportive or encouraging- more interested in hearing himself talk than listening to me. Sage advice like wear a Fitbit- which I already do. It is obvious that the main goal of this place is to push the hormone therapy. If you aren't interested in that- don't go here. Front office staff are lovely. If this is how they treat their patients (and potential new patients), don't waste your time or money. Mind you I had two other appointments the same day with local small businesses that required deposits as well and the other two businesses carried over my deposit to the new appointments I made.
