This Nevada State Veterans Memorial is perhaps one of the city's most forgotten mentioned points of interest. Along with the less traveled Fort Mormon Historical Landmark a few hundred yards across the street. Perhaps overlooked being two byroads alongside a busy downtown street in Las Vegas. Both residing between the entryway to the Cashman Center Auditorium and the back entrance of the infamous Fremont Street. A memorial display of stoned carved Soldiers from each war. Their lifelike features portray a glimpse of understanding to their emotional scars. With each generation generation the auxiliary becomes more deadly. While the headwear transcend from war time hats to battle zone helmets. behind the immortalized veteran figurines is a wall of signature quotations. An optimistic reminder of how the military was designed to promote war. Instead it was to prepare for a time of peace. As hopeful as that may seem I found a much more settling reminder of across the street behind the brick mortar walls of the Mormon Fort. Those pioneers may not have been trained soldiers. Yet they shared the same hardships of battle. Their hats may have been much simpler than of solders. Yet they share the same wartime expressions of a veteran. So no matter which hat is worn in any generation. Whether a pioneer of peace or a soldier of war. There is a common bond which coexist between them. One which a true veteran can fully understand.

The house is privately owned and it's where many of the things from the Liberace Museum now reside. The tour I took was lead by Jonathan Warren, an expert on the life of Liberace. He's also is an expert in describing the Liberace items in the mansion. The tour lasted three hours and was very informative. The whole hacienda is not covered but the section closest to Palomino Lane is where the Liberace memorabilia is located. Reservations must be made for the tour. I was the only person yesterday because some that were scheduled needed to change their tour date. It was a fantastic tour. I had been to the Liberace Museum before it closed, but I never would know what I do now because of Mr. Warren's encyclopedic memory!

I've lived in Vegas my whole life, and to see the history right in front of you is really cool. I learned quite a few things, like the fact that Debbie Reynolds had a hotel! Even the lobby is a part of history. I was thoroughly impressed. We did the move tour with Ryan, and I think the experience was absolutely worth it. We learned a lot of things and he had a great personality, which made it even better! We did a 7:30pm ticket and walked around the loop before meeting in the lobby for our 8:30pm tour. We were done somewhere around 9:15ish and did a little more walking, then we hit the gift shop. They had a museum nerd keychain that I absolutely had to have. They also have other cute stuff like that. This was a great experience and I absolutely recommend you try the tours!

The only piece of constructive feedback I have is that they really need to expand a bit. I noticed there were quite a few display signs around the place that had absolutely no information on them, which was a little disappointing when you are trying to learn more about what you are looking at. But honestly, aside from that minor detail, the visit was fantastic. Definitely worth the trip!
