The house is privately owned and it's where many of the things from the Liberace Museum now reside. The tour I took was lead by Jonathan Warren, an expert on the life of Liberace. He's also is an expert in describing the Liberace items in the mansion. The tour lasted three hours and was very informative. The whole hacienda is not covered but the section closest to Palomino Lane is where the Liberace memorabilia is located. Reservations must be made for the tour. I was the only person yesterday because some that were scheduled needed to change their tour date. It was a fantastic tour. I had been to the Liberace Museum before it closed, but I never would know what I do now because of Mr. Warren's encyclopedic memory!

Standing there with his happy little face (I am guessing it's a boy cat, but who knows?), it's a total mood lifter amid the city's neon chaos. Snowball is an unofficial city mascot, especially to those of us creative types who frequent the downtown Arts District. Perfect for a quick selfie or just to take in some fun street art, Snowball's got a playful energy that makes it impossible not to smile. His tongue is sticking out and his squinting eyes have the cutest expression ever (and one that most cat parents will recognize). Snowball's oversized ears are the icing on the cake.  I love public art and I personally think it's worth the trip downtown to pay Snowball a visit. It's a fun, quirky statue that's free and open to all, 24/7.

We were driving down Fremont Street towards The Fremont Experience when I commented on how beautiful the lights are... some are suspended across the street in a zigzag fashion and other lights come from neon signs... Like this "VEGAS" sign! Downtown Las Vegas is really historic and unique!

The Neon Museum has been on my list for years and I finally got to go on my recent trip to Vegas…read more Looking at old reviews here, I'm glad that I waited this long because it sounds like they've made some improvements. We booked our tickets ahead online because it appeared that in the past they would sell out, but we could have easily purchased them at the door. The museum houses old working and non-working neon signs from Las Vegas past. There's everything from old cleaners signs to old casinos like the Stardust. I highly recommend that you visit at night so that you can see a lot of the boneyard lit up. They offer guided tours but we opted out. There's plenty of signage throughout the museum to give context and history to what you're looking at, although the guided tour would have been cool. We spent about an hour walking amongst the signs and I didn't want it to be over! They have a separate fenced off section with signs that will never light up, but I wish that we could have explored that section as well, since many of the signs that they had on display in the main area also didn't light up. It was so cool to see this piece of Las Vegas history.

On a recent trip to Vegas I decided to finally check out The Neon Museum. The small parking lot…read moreshould've been the first sign of what to expect when visiting. We arrived about 30 minutes after they opened for the evening session and the lot was full with cars circling. Luckily we saw a couple leave and was able to get a parking spot. We suspected it was either too hot outside and they changed their mind or the museum was small. I was a little sticker shocked by the admission price. An adult general admission price is currently $35. If I wasn't dying from the heat and did a little research beforehand, I probably would've done some quick math and bought an individual membership for $99. The membership includes unlimited visits for a year, perks, and discounts. The outdoor museum is self guided. There is an add in option of a guided tour but the timeslots are limited. I was surprised to see that not all the signs were lit up. I overheard one of the staff members say that because the museum is run by a non-profit organization, they have limited funds to restore and light up all the signs. I appreciated the displays they had in front of the signs with historical information. Some of the signs like the Aladdin genie lamp and Stardust sign brought back childhood memories of visiting Vegas as a kid. The whole visit including a stop at the gift shop took only about 30 minutes. Since I didn't get a membership I probably would only go back if I knew the museum added some new signs.

It's been decades since the last time I visited the Fort. I'm impressed with the improvements. I…read morevisited the Fort for the Pollinator event, so there was much to see and experience. The museum displays are educational and interesting. The koi pond and walking trail is very pleasant. There are established fruit trees and a garden area. The tortoise were in their shelter within the habitat, so I didn't get an opportunity to see them during my visit. I would look forward to attending more events here.

Although not something I'm interested in, the museum had a way of presenting the information where even I was intrigued. If its something you're into I'm sure you won't be disappointed.

According to the plaque, it describes the novel as "the amazing adventures of Priest Xuanzang and his three disciples, the irreverent monkey, the greedy but lovable pig, and a hardworking river goblin as they go on the journey in search of Buddhist sutras." Furthermore, "In spite of all the trials and tribulations along the way, they are successful in reaching their goal" which is "the Palace in Western Heaven where the Buddha lives." It's a rather interesting story and the sculpture is a lovely representation of the novel!

Beautiful statue of depicting the 5 main characters from Journey to the West (西遊記) in the Las Vegas…read moreChinatown Plaza. Sun Wukong, Zhu Bajie, Tang Sanzang, Sha Wujing, and White Dragon Horse. Although Las Vegas Chinatown is very tiny, this statue makes it unique for this specific Chinatown. As a Chinese kid growing up a big fan of 西遊記 and watching different adaptations of the story, this statue is most definitely worth taking pictures and videos of.
