Rise Bloomfield was one of the first medical dispensaries I visited in Northern NJ. Naturally, I expected that early presence in the community to come with warmth, product knowledge, and at the very least--basic customer care. Sadly, my recent experience reminded me just how transactional and cold some dispensaries can feel. After spending a considerable amount of money on infused pre-rolls (which, by the way, didn't burn properly--not one of them), I returned to Rise with proof, hoping for a reasonable resolution. I wasn't asking for the world--just a simple store credit or exchange. Instead, I was met with a wall of resistance: three staff members jumping in to shut me down, all repeating the same line--"We don't do that. No dispensary does." It wasn't what they said as much as how they said it. No empathy. No curiosity about the issue. No attempt to make it right. It felt like I was being scolded for speaking up. Rise, I'm not here to bash. I'm here to be honest: * The environment is cold * The staff feels scripted and disengaged * There's little to no product education * And the reward system and pricing don't offer much value Cannabis is supposed to be healing.
