I first started coming here when I moved to Michigan a little over three years ago. It is a big…read morechurch and it can feel overwhelming when you're new and you don't know many people. I ended up moving away for the past two years and moved back a few months ago. I knew I wanted to come back here, because I love Wednesday groups and my son loves Awana. I started to get more involved at Woodside, I even joined the Woodside running team and ran the Detroit International Half-Marathon with a few team members! I have met more people, I have grown personally through many opportunities here and I feel at home. This is a wonderful church family, come and join us! I promise you won't regret it!

I've also taken the rosary in the little chapel with a small group and that was really peaceful and nice. We had our wedding here in October of 2024 and it was truly a magical experience. The ambiance and character of the building is unbeatable!! In order to have your wedding here you do have to be a parishioner of the church for a total of 18 months prior to the wedding day. FYI

Last Sunday, the pastor of EMBC preached a message claiming that he threatened to beat his sons for…read moretrying on dresses when they were younger. He also told parents, from the pulpit, that if they catch their boys playing with their sisters dolls, they should teach them to burn the dolls. This is not the first violent message from Pastor Tracy that I have heard. I once heard him rejoice when 300 Muslims were killed in a tragic accident in Mecca in 2013. I heard him brag that he would like to run over protesters with his car. When I was a member as a teen, I heard him joke about hitting his wife, and encourage his children to bash other children's heads in with bricks from the pulpit. I was sad and horrified to learn that he has not changed his violent messaging. If you are the kind of Christian who wants to see anyone you disagree with (including children) beaten and killed, I guess EMBC is the church for you. If you are the kind of Christian who wants to follow Jesus and love your neighbor as yourself, try elsewhere.
