Probably the best liquor store in the South Coast reigon, second only to the super massive Yankee Spirits in Swansea. Fantastic beer and wine selection. I frequent this place at least once a week to get some hard to find microbrews. The employees are fantastic, they will order anything that they don't have in stock (something I have taken advantage of on several occasions). They have also given me lots of free merch and stuff in the past. Because of this, this place warrents 5 stars. There are also beer and wine tastings at least once a month. If you buy a lot of beer, you should consider getting a frequent buyer card. After buying 10 6 packs you get money off your next purchase. Definitely a deal worth checking out read more

I came here today in which has been awhile since i have. Let me tell everyone the staff here is very rude. So here was the issues im referring to. 1) After looking for about 10 minutes i couldnt find what i was looking for so i asked where it was. The employee gave me the answer " what do you want (told him i wanted beer) once told he pointed to pne location, and then asked me if i saw the big beer sign then told me it should be there then." Look if a customer tells you they cant find someting they should show respect and bring them to where the producr is located, which isnt hard. 2) Secondly you dont tell the cost and grab the money from the custome. I know this is probably the effect of the supermarket next door closing, but the size of the wine and beer selection, and even of the physical retail space, has decreased over time. Craft beer section seems to be the hardest hit, maybe because other stores carry the same stock and they have reduced the variety. Fairhaven location is more established and rotates in new stuff more often. Bigger wine selection too. But, it's still probably the best in the north end of NB. Usually have some sale items and close outs. Open a little later than other packies in the area too. read more

Douglas Wine & Spirits has several other locations in the area, but this location has only been open for a couple months. The store is spacious and has a wide selection of beer, wine, and spirits, including local products. They have a nice create-your-own six-pick option, which I like as I am new to world of beer (after many years in the kingdom of hard liquor). The staff is friendly and helpful, and it looks like they are going to start having tastings soon! read more

This place is ginormous, and the make your own 6 pack thing is really neat. Plus they have redemption machines that aren't super-crazy-dingy as Shaw's (and, of course, take your beer bottles/cans). They have good specials, too, and send out fliers every now and then. read more

I used to go to this place weekly and give them good business. It is too bad they are just another franchise big business that refuses to get to know their best customers. Today I was treated rudely by the register attendant baby boomer who hates her job. I am 31 years old and yes people have out of state licenses. It is the 21st century, we have been on the moon and you can't scan a license. Catch up to technology or be left behind. This is the same license that let me give you money for the last 6 years. The old woman was rude from the moment I walked up. Never even said hi, only "I don't know if we take this anymore," because she obviously recognized me. She even felt the need to let me know she works for mall security in her other job that she also hates. Stick with that because customer service is not your thing. read more

This store has really declined in the past three years. Once a regular, I rarely visit anymore. Declining selection is part of it, but mostly it is because wines consistently ring up a higher price than marked. Given the duration and frequency of the "glitch" the only reasonable explanation is that someone in charge is being dishonest. Now I only visit every few months to see if this slow motion train wreck is still in progress. I just visited again and had to raise my voice with a line of people behind me to get a manager to drag himself out of that weird booth they hide in and check a price after the cashier refused. "Was he right?" asked the cashier... Of course I was. What a mess. Go to Barry's, or even Shaw's for crying out loud. read more

Called for pricing information and cashier was extremley rude and told me " I don't have time for this" and then stated let me put you on to the manager who I explained I wanted dicing information and was treated rude. He simply stated " okay" and quoted the price no apology. read more

The prices and selection are very good and I've been a regular customer for 2 years, but I will NEVER be back. One particular manager (or owner - I'm not sure) has always had an attitude and borders on being rude, but last night he took poor service to a whole new level. A young adult was attempting to make her purchase with a debit card. As sometimes happens at any store, the machine would not read her card when she swiped it. She tried multiple times and every time, he gave her an annoyed look and said, "nope". He finally voided the sale and made her go through the process again. He put her through this process 3 times. She became embarrassed as the line grew behind her and apologized multiple times to those of us waiting while he continued his litany of "nopes". She eventually asked if he had a plastic bag to fold over her card and use it to swipe the card. His response was a loud and annoyed, "We don't do that here." She then asked if he could key in the card number and he responded with, " No, I can't do that. We don't do that." She then asked if she should try another register. In an all- out angry voice he let her know there was not another register open. Meanwhile, an employee attempting to help with the 6 or 7 of us who were now lined up, went behind the counter and was immediately reprimanded in front of everyone and told that he couldn't use the middle register because something was wrong with it and the end register couldn't be opened yet. He sheepishly went back to working in the store. The poor customer, now a full 5 minutes after starting, meekly asked if she would not be able to make her purchase. At this point, the manager says he can try one thing. He goes to the register beside him - less than 1 foot away, rings up her purchase, and puts her card through that machine in less than a minute. REALLY?! If he could have solved the problem so quickly, why didn't he? What good reason is there for humiliating people? That is inexcusable. To add insult to injury, he then demands that 2 other employees hurry up to find the poor guy who tried to help in the first place. When he gets there, he tells him to sign on to the register he told him not to use 5 minutes ago! This is the kind of person I will not do business with. There is NO excuse for treating people so poorly. read more
