Complete Waste of Money - All Three Projects Had to Be Fully Redone…read more I'm writing this review to help other homeowners avoid the significant time and money I wasted, as well as the frustration I experienced with Travers Construction. After my father passed away over three years ago, I hired them for a basement water penetration project because he had trusted and used them for years. I assumed I could trust them too. That project was the beginning of the end. It was clear that water was coming up through the foundation at the front of the property... they insisted that digging a trench about 15 feet from the house and filling it with stone was what needed to be done to fix the issue. I asked them whether this would just result in groundwater building up against the foundation as the path of least resistance, but they insisted that wasn't true -- and that is exactly what happened. At the time I didn't have experience with these types of repairs, so I trusted their recommendation. They backfilled the trench with stone right up to grade and laid the grass directly on top of the stone with no dirt or topsoil. The grass died because it had nothing to root into. After the very next rain we had more water in the basement than ever before. When the problem persisted and worsened, they washed their hands of it and left. Their so-called repair made the situation worse and was a complete waste of money. Another contractor had to remove all of their work and redo the entire project properly. After this experience I was smart enough not to use them again. Only then did I look back at the earlier projects they had done for my father and realize every single one of them was also complete trash that ultimately had to be removed and redone by another contractor. French drain project (~3 years ago, around the time of my father's passing): The quality of work was awful. No filter fabric was added to the drain and the perforated pipe wasn't even connected. The system was failing less than two years later. It will need to be completely redone in the next few years. It was a complete waste of money. Patio / backyard foundation project (~14 years ago): They were hired to eliminate water penetration at the rear foundation of the house. They backfilled with pure clay. The project failed and water intrusion through the foundation started less than 10 years later. The patio had to be removed and the entire project had to be completely redone by another contractor last year. Their work not only failed to solve the water problem -- it was a complete waste of money. In all three projects Travers Construction delivered substandard work using improper materials and techniques. Every job failed, required full removal of their installation, and had to be completely redone from scratch by a different contractor at significant additional cost. They appear to prioritize quick jobs and collecting payment over quality or lasting results, leaving homeowners to pay twice (or more) to fix the problems they created. If you are considering Travers Construction, I strongly recommend looking elsewhere. I trusted them when I moved to the area because my father had used them in the past -- and it cost my family substantial time, money, and repeated frustration. Buddy, in his infinite wisdom, told me not worry and that it was worth a shot to grow what we can and he would be back to redo it if it did not grow. Skip to 1 year later and delay after delay - I still don't have a lawn - Buddy blames me for the grass not growing - after consulting with numerous other landscapers, they said he took a big risk and should have just waited for better cooler weather. - He has told me in the Fall he would be out to seed but it was well into Oct 2018 before he would show up and recommended I wait until Spring 2019. - Spring of 2019 has come and gone and and he still has not showed up. I would recommend anyone who wants to do business with Buddy make sure you don't pay until job is 100% complete. He was paid on time with everything and now does not want to hold up to his side of the deal.

It was tricky because we have a gravel driveway, but they carefully and expertly moved the snow effectively without disturbing the pebbles. The communication was great and the service rate very reasonable. This was the first time I hired a company to move snow for me, and I feel lucky to have found a good one at the very beginning. Less than a year in, the stonework separated from spa, a retaining wall failed, 10 plantings died and that was AFTER the construction woes of COLLAPSING the pool company's plumbing, cutting marked underground cables, the fire pit had to be replaced (twice - "it was a known defect", why put in something that is known to be defective???) and most notably running over the septic system line despite having been informed on location (and obviously having plans) - even after being told "you know - that's not a good idea" they asked my wife anticipating that somehow women aren't intelligent. Jason is a nice guy and good crayon drawer but this company is a pure nightmare. Hard to admit making a mistake that cost this amount of money, but hopefully it saves someone else some a bigger headache. This company will leave you with a lot more to clean up than just the cigarette butts they toss on your lawn.

Folks from White Horse Lawn & Tree came out and were both highly responsive, extremely helpful, and awfully nice. They offered multiple applications of fungicide, at a very reasonable price.
