Tierra Santa I was…read moreon the hunt for the best spa experience in the city. I was looking for a day of pampering. As such, I wanted additional benefits and not just a massage. This spa ended up topping my comparison list. Scheduling an appointment was slightly problematic. I spent entirely too much time on their site attempting to make a reservation for two. The site was not working. I ended up calling the spa to schedule over the phone. However, there was no answer so I had to leave a message requesting a return call. A staff did call me back late the next day. I was able to schedule over the phone. I was advised to complete the forms prior to arrival date- which I did do The spa is located inside of the Faena Hotel. The hotel is on the corner and is easy to find. The spa will validate valet parking for $35. We parked about a block away for much less. However, parking price value would be based on how long you plan on being at the spa. It may be more cost effective to pay the $35. When we arrived a hotel staff assisted us by escorting us to the elevator to the spa level. There was a lady at the front desk when we arrived. It did take her a few moments to acknowledge us, and when she did she asked us to give her a few minutes. Another staff approached and asked if we had been assisted. The staff sitting at the front desk did ask her to help us. We advised we had appointments. She checked us in and walked us over to the waiting area. The waiting area is very bright and doubles as a store. We were served tea and allowed to relax and take pictures. This area also had access to the outside patio also available for lounging durring your spa day. Following the waiting area the staff walked us to the women's fitting room. She gave us a quick tutorial on how to utilize the lockers. We changed into our swimsuits to get ready to enjoy the wet area. The wet area is on the opposite side of the spa. You have to walk through the waiting area and the front desk. When you walk in you are greeted by a table full of fresh soap. You are encouraged to grab a piece to try. The following are available in the wet area: a waterfall shower, steam room, a haman, a sauna, and a cold room. NOTE: this area is co-Ed. Based on my observation it's best to schedule an early service so that you can enjoy the benefits with a limited crowd. You also access the area for your spa services directly from the wet area. There is a lounge area where you can enjoy tea, infused water and snacks such as dried fruit, fresh strawberries, and chocolate covered almonds to name a few. I opted to take a quick shower prior to my 60 minute massage. My skin was feeling dry from the over load on water, and heat. We arrived to the lounge about 5-10 minutes prior to our scheduled spa time. Shane came into the lounge and advised he would be my massage therapist. When we walked into my private room he advised I could have a seat on a purple chair. He went over the paper work I competed on line. He repeated to me what I indicated as it relates to areas to focus on, areas to avoid and pressure I desired. After confirming everything he asked me what oil I would be interested in for aroma therapy. I opted for lavender after smelling all of them. Shane gave me some privacy to undress to my comfort level and advised I should start out laying face down. When Shane came back into the room he got to work immediately. This massage was PERFECT! Shane ensured the pressure was what I desired, and he focused on all the places I need to be worked on. He did some moves I have never felt before and I was so impressed. I was so disappointed when the 60 minutes were up. This experience exceeded my expectations!

I remember one instance, on my second day of being there recovering post op they had a leather party and all of the staff left me all alone in the house so that they could attend this party. They could care less that I was on pain meds, handicapped, all alone and not feeling well. I called my doctor right away and let him know what was going on, much to his dismay, and not to ever recommend these incompetent morons who only think of themselves. DON'T WASTE YOUR MONEY HERE! NO CARE, NO COMPASSION, NO EXPERIENCE!

After the consultation they sent us an email telling us about NBtlc and recommended that my son recover there from his top surgery, we were excited that there was actually such a place. In the description of there services it was said that there would be a nurse and therapist on site and with that being read we felt confident that would be the place for us. Well here is the reason for this post, We showed up on 09/04/18 pre-op at Dr Sassani's (which by the way is an amazing surgeon and has a very caring staff, highly recommended Dr Sassani) then onto NBtlc, the nurse and therapist were there for the 2 1/2 days of my sons recovery but getting ready for their "long awaited and much needed" vacation was their priority not my son (the patient) along with others that were also just getting there or already in recovery mode. So there was no "nurse" or "therapist" on staff as their website state(d) they have deleted that part of their pkg you get for staying at their retreat since the reviews are out. so I HIGHLY recommend IF you HAVE to stay there please bring someone to take care of you, they had 3 "interns" there which 2 of them were said to be highly qualified, qualified in what I'm not sure, they kept a clean house and the food in order I'll give them that but the "Patient First" that was suppose to be there main priority was not and as for intern 3 he was a complete waste of space (I was told he has been let go but not to sure about that). Thank the good lord that Myself and my daughter joined my son to be there for support which turned into support and all medical and all needs of him and other customer patients staying there, dont get me wrong i enjoyed taking these young men (2 of them, the other patient also had 2 people he had brought with him) under my mom wing and helping them anyway I could ie meds, water, ginger ale, compression sock removal, covering them up in their recliners because they are unable to move their arms post op, plugging in their phones for them, preparing small meals for them here and there. So like I said you can not recover there alone please bring someone with you because you'll feel like an inconvenience if you have to ask for anything!! I could get into every detail of things that went wrong there but I think you may get the idea and I'm not sure how much space I have here to post. I have since spoke with Bonnie and Leland but their main concern is that I wont post a bad review. I posted one on their Facebook page but was begged via numerous texts messages to remove it, I caved and did so but I wish I wouldnt have now. As of yesterday 9/19/18 they have taken down their review section all together on facebook. There was another review from another customer patient that over lapped our stay there and they did NOT like his review there and he refused to remove it. So here i am on Yelp and hope this helps make the decision not to stay here. Our experience there was to say the least... Not a good one!
